I rate this company a 0, in ZERO. Had called Big Blue Spa for our service for summer setup of the pool and spa on May 12th the tech came. After he removed the cover, much needed maintenance was apparent, but he only hooked up the pool’s automatic vacuum and then left saying he’d be back in a few days. Took a week and a half for the return for service. He then took the filter to be cleaned, returning several days later. Put the filter in and turned on the pump and a major leak occurred. Now, the pump motor is fried, won’t work, he hasn’t returned and Big Blue won’t answer our calls or emails… lovely. Had a gorgeous pool before these folk have just ignored us. Probably not a big enough account for them.

Used the store in Gardnerville. Had jets replaced which was fine. Tech took my filters to replace and never came back. Went to store, he no longer worked there. Told them about a squeal the motor was making and the tech on duty in the store took my phone number to schedule a service call. She never called. Went to the store today to get a filter and none were in stock and the service tech was there. Asked her why she never called… she had a 3 week personal leave of absence. That’s fine, but does no one else take care of business when that happens? And does she not return calls when she returns? I guess this store would rather not have the inconvenience of customers. We will never go back.

I was very happy with the service I got. I had to leave a message and wait for a call back, but I got one within 24 hrs. They were friendly and very helpful. My circulation pump had gone out and they had it fixed in about an hour. It did take about a week to get an appointment time, but it wasn’t an emergency so that was ok. I had previously called another spa service company and couldn’t even get a call back.

The office staff was so-so, but when Chris, the owner showed up, everything was great. They were on time, courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable about everything hot tub. I’m a bit curious about these things and he showed me a few tricks on hot tub maintenance despite it being freezing outside. He even spent a good amount of time on the phone with the home warranty people, which I know isn’t the most fun thing in the world. I was concerned about the other two Unilocal reviews, but it turns out that Chris is the new management as of 2013 and things seem great to me.

I would not hire this company. They say one thing and do another. They do not respond to your emails or phone calls. I had a simple main pump problem that should of taken only about 30 mins to replace. All together I was charged well over $ 800 to repair a simple thing in my spa. They tweaked the door to my breaker panel so I can’t even get into it anymore. They operate under multiple names; West Shore Hot Tubs, Big Blue Spa Repair, and High Sierra Spa Repair. Be aware and don’t fall into the same trap as I did. These people tell you something different every time you call and they are not responsive. Beware!!!

I have used this service for years, but over the last year i have been very disappointed in their service. They are also known as West Shore Hot Tub. I have posted this review under both names since they operate under both names. They repaired our spa and made a mistake in the wiring. When a relay fused and needed further repair they told me that the pump had been wired incorrectly. They said that some one else must have worked on the spa after they repaired it. But that was not the case. After numerous conversations they acknowledged that no one else had worked on the spa and changed their diagnosis form the wires«wires were incorrectly connected» to there was just a «fused relay». So, when they realized that they had cross wired the unit which finally caused significant damage(a $ 500 repair), their story changed so as to absolve their guilt in the process. I have tried to negotiate with them for over a year with no success. Instead of being fair or reasonable they have merely tried to change the facts to justify their invoice. We are paying the invoice under protest.

After I explained the symptoms to Sean, he diagnosed the problem and fixed it in less than an hour(give or take some time for draining and re-filling). I was impressed that he had the parts in the truck and could do the job on the spot This greatly exceeded my expectations.(Note: I have had some bad experiences with vendors in this area needing weeks to get some stupid part«all the way from Sacramento — this was for a home heater in the dead of winter !!!) In summary, the job was done quickly, professionally and with courtesy

These guys are awesome! On time, super friendly, knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do! My Tub is fixed, bubbling and clean! And they were extremely fair with their price! I recommend these guys for sure! Real pros!
