Fast delivery, reasonable prices, Very good food. I ordered for delivery during a snowstorm after being declined delivery by two other establishments(Vinny’s and Blue Dog). My wife and I both suffering from flu, too sick to venture the storm ourselves. Jade Garden truly came to the rescue when others wouldnt. I usually don’t like Chinese but this was again very good.

My boyfriend frequents this joint and I ate with him and was surprised at how good their food is. We’re local and he swears Jade Garden is the best. It’s smaller and not fancy but their food makes up for it. Great teriyaki chicken, orange chicken and chow main. There were a lot of people in town for the holiday this weekend and they only had one girl serving food but she kicked ass, Serving Good portions quickly! Oh Jade Garden… We will be back soon…

This is a quick stop place. It’s not like a fancy restaurant so if that’s what you are looking for then probably not the best place, however it is very good! For the price — 20.00 fed my family of four and we completely finished our meals. It’s cheap in price and quality but like I said good– I would go here again for some fast food Chinese food!

Found a BUG in our food! Went here with my daughter and ordered our food. Sat down and got halfway done eating when my daughter noticed a bug in her food. I’m not a pest expert, but it looked like a cockroach. She went to the counter and told them and their reaction is the whole reason I’m writing this review. The kid working the counter called her a liar and said she just wanted a refund. Her food was under $ 5, we weren’t looking for a refund. So instead I’m writing this review to let everyone know what we found.

Last year when I came to South Lake Tahoe I ordered a 3 combo plate which I picked half chow me in and rice, broccoli beef, orange chicken and green beans with chicken it was awesome! Now fast forward to today 06÷08÷15 I decide to go back and get another 3 combo plate I ordered the half chow me in rice, pepper chicken, orange chicken and broccoli chicken. My daughter ordered the same thing except she got coconut shrimp instead of orange chicken and Amy ordered the same thing except she she picked teriyaki chicken in place of pepper chicken. We get back to our room eat about 20 minutes later if felt like dragon ball Z going on in my stomach yikes! My daughter didn’t feel too good around the same time and we’re fighting over the bathroom, luckily I had two rooms but my daughter’s room is on the other side of the hotel so I grab her room key and beat feet to her room clinching for dear life. I don’t know if they left the food sitting out too long or what but all I can say is my daughter and I are still not feeling to good and Amy is the only one that didn’t get sick. That was $ 25 straight down the toilet literally. I will never eat here again. I should have known by the fact no one was there but since I have no problems last year I thought what the heck! Well it came back and bit me in the A$$ B-(

It’s so delicious and fresh and cheap. The environment is legit and the staff is excellent. I eat here all the time! Thanks Jade Garden!

This small Chinese Fast-Food Restaurant is in a center with its own parking lot. They have a $ 5 lunch special and a menu selection that satisfies. Especially if you have a large group to keep happy. For $ 5, I got the orange chicken and chicken teriyaki with rice and noodles. I shared it with someone and we were both satisfied with the quantity. Nobody else in the group shared their food but everyone was pretty happy. Especially since no one has had any Asian food for a week at the time.

They got our order wrong, first off. Then two of the four of us eating there got food poisoning. It cost me a day off paid for skiing. I’d give them less than one star if I could.

Omg so much food for so little chin chin! I’m sure I could find healthier options but lets be real when you want greezy Chinese food you’re not worried about being healthy. The two item combo could easily feed 2 people the 3 item made the 2 of us stuffed! All for like $ 7! We were also surprised that it wasn’t super salty, so that was a plus too.

Best deal and best tastes in town. Grab a teriyaki plate with rice extra teriyaki and be prepared to be full and happy… Don’t sweet and sour soup to wash it all down. Ooohhhh Weeee !

Based off of one visit. We stopped by for a quick bite after a long day snowboarding. The restaurant was empty so basically that meant old/cold food. Got the coconut shrimp with noodles. Shrimp was cold and noodles was plain. I feel that Panda Express does a better job.

A-Ok $ 6.75 for two choices of food and white rice. Enough food to feed a family of four. Easy stop on the way to or from Heavenly.

The sign says $ 4.75 for a one entrée meal. They have ready made food similar to Panda Express(but this place is SO much better) as well as a full menu of Chinese specialties you can order a la carte. I got the orange chicken with chow mein and my husband got the chowmein with black pepper chicken. Side of the hot and sour soup for the two of us. Each of our plates were really fresh tasting. The hot and sour soup was delicious. Surprisingly, better than most hot and sour soups I’ve had. The guys working there were really friendly and helpful. Gave me a sample of the hot and sour soup to test the spiciness and even asked if I mind waiting a few minutes for freshly made chowmein(of course not!). If you want cheap, big portion, Americanized Chinese food this place is great.

WISH I COULDGIVENOSTARS… SMELLY, SMILEYHUNANAKACHINESEFOOD Came up to South Lake Tahoe Memorial day weekend and was craving Chinese food once we got to our house in the Tahoe keys area. Didn’t feel like driving as I have been on the road from San Jose for 51//2 hours with traffic so I wanted something delivered. Found this place which was down the street and they delivered so I was stoked. Ordered a bunch of food and an hour later it was at our door. After making a plate of 5 different items and eating almost half I thought I was going to throw up. First the smell got to me as this Hunan, Schezuan aka Chinese food didn’t smell right. Then when eating it, it was ALL smiley and tasted nasty. Immediately I told my wife not to eat it and I threw all of it in the trash. 20 min later the while kitchen smelled like this food, so we put in the garage so bears or raccoon’s could not get to it. 1hr later whole garage stank and we didn’t want are cars to smell in the garage so we put trash bag for of 7 different containers in the backyard and even my pit bull and husky wouldn’t even go near it. Overall, horrible experience, told everyone back home in the bay area not to try ever and wasted $ 50 bucks on food. Wife even wanted to go to their place in the morning to drop off their food, now that’s pretty bad. So had popcorn and snacks from the drive up that night instead for dinner.

Solid 3.5 stars. I love food. I love good food and I can be snobby about it sometimes. But just as I crave delicious hole in the wall dim sum or expensive curried crab or clams in black bean sauce or pork belly and chicken feet, I will get the occasional craving for cheap greasy, salty Americanized Chinese food. Jade Garden hits that spot. The trick is to order a la carte. Sure it’s more expensive than the $ 5 combo but everything comes out fresh and hot and you know it hasn’t been sitting there for who knows how long. Plus, you can’t go wrong with Chinese leftovers. The favorite are the Singapore noodles(thin rice noodles stir fried with a touch of curry powder and vegetables), the stir fried green beans — really yummy when just hot and fresh, and… eek… the honey coconut shrimp — which is just battered and fried shrimps tossed in this coconut creamy sweet sauce. I didn’t want to like it but I did. The orange chicken is pretty plump and juicy though under seasoned, as was the vegetable fried rice. The Mongolian beef had a nice spice to it but was over powered by onions and green bell peppers and the cream cheese puffs were a hit with the kids. Four entrees, fried rice, noodles, cream cheese puffs and 4 complimentary scoops of rice came out to be around $ 50. That was enough to feed 4 hungry adults with left overs. Service is friendly and they will give you a taste test of something if you ask nicely. I was there for 30 minutes because I ordered to go and had to wait but my order was huge so just be patient. It seems like a lot of locals frequent this joint, many of the folks that came by certainly are there for the cheaper fare: Mexican families, high school kids, hippies that are non vegetarian/organic, lower income folks. Just, c’mon man, I know the workers may not speak the best English but treat these guys nicely because they’re working hard for your money.

Giving them a good review because they deserve more stars! The ONLY Chinese I care to go to here in Tahoe. Like the other reviews say, it reminds me of city Chinese. I’ve never personally been a fan of Panda Express but I like these guys. The coconut shrimp is bomb; the lo mein is a lil oily but the veggies are fresh and surprisingly nothings overly salty. The combo meals are VERY inexpensive. The employees are SUPER nice and friendly; They offered to make something that wasn’t available. I could see how this small place could fill up and get busy but right now they’re slow and I just got good service so no complaints here! :)

We haven’t ever had any issues with Jade Garden, other than a long wait time. We always order off the menu versus doing the dirt cheap plate so it takes a while. Solution? We call in our order ahead of time. Super cool bonus: they deliver for free on any order over $ 30(which is every order since we have Inner Fat Kids who love Chinese leftovers). The food is what you’d expect from any American«fast food» Chinese place — unhealthy, sodium heavy Chinese. Some of the dishes are a little more«authentic»(the Spicy Hunaan chicken comes to mind) and some are straight up American Chinese Food(the lemon chicken, no question). Hubby says the sechzuan chicken is pretty similar enough to the one his little old Chinese neighbor used to make to make him happy. I have to disagree with what other reviews said about this place being worse than Panda Express — mostly because I’d rather eat my own toenails than be subjected to Panda Express. Ugh. It seems like all the complaints about Jade Garden are because they don’t restock their $ 4.95 steam table as often as people would like. Fair enough, but also — shut it. You go in at 6PM and you have to wait forEVER because they’re refilling the broccoli beef? Okay, fair enough, rant on. But if you go in a half hour before they close and expect them to refill their options for the cheap-ass plate, biznatch please stfu. It’s hard to keep decent, affordable restaurants in Tahoe — please don’t ruin this one for the people who like it.
