This was a hard one because some things were amazing and some were not. Customer service was AWESOME. I ordered the chicken enchiladas combo with red sauce. I’m a huge red sauce fan and sadly the red sauce wasn’t good. Everything else on the plate was great(rice, beans, lettuce, tomato). The green salsa is BOMB, but the Pico was SO bland. I will be back though for sure. Going to try the green sauce enchiladas next time around.

Great place to pop in and grab a bite! Food is delicious and authentic. And the service is excellent. The salsa bar has a nice selection. This is just a great hole-in-the-wall spot to get some Mexican food. And now that they have added some outdoor seating it really makes the place one of my favorite summer lunch spots. Very quaint and cute! Highly recommended.

Good food, cheap prices, great salsa bar and great service. Pozole was good, but wish it was served hotter. I like it steaming hot otherwise it cools too much once you add the shredded cabbage and chopped onions. Definitely will return. Owners seemed really nice and were very friendly.

Maybe 4 stars, but seriously it is pretty good. The service was very attentive, despite being a sit down casual togo-ish place. The meal I ordered seemed really good as well. I ordered the Super Burrito with asada and a side of rice and refried beans. So good! I love burritos with guac and sour cream… yum…

After exhausting all my energy drunk sledding in Tahoe I was craving tacos! I defiantly got my fix at this place. The food was delicious here. I had chicken, carne asada and chile verde tacos! Goodness gracious why hasn’t anyone informed me about chile verde tacos?! Those tacos were defiantly the star of this restaurant! I also had the chicken mole enchiladas which was good as well! Even tho this place is an order at the front and they bring it out to you type of joint the service was on point. My only gripe was that there’s about 4 and a half chips per chip basket but overall I enjoyed stuffing my face here.

This place is not authentic Mexican food. im guessing it has all these stars because mainly tourists come here which might not be familiar with what real Mexican food taste like. I ordered the tacos and it is really hard to mess a taco up but they succeeded. I knew I should have known when a big red flag popped up when I saw that the Birria was made out of pork. Being from Guadalajara, Birria should be made out of goat. If you make it either with beef or lamb you can call it Barbacoa but Birria specifically means goat. The chile verde was the only meat that was ok but the carne asada, carnitas and Al pastor were bland and just plain bad. Overall I will not be coming back.

Truly delicious authentic Mexican food. Tacos are served with protein only atop 2 corn tortillas. Once you have your plate, you walk to the salsa bar where a colorful assortment of traditional Mexican condiments are waiting for you. Onions and cilantro on your tacos, grab a few limes, and scoop some salsa(red/green) into disposable plastic cups. I had the pastor taco combo plate(3 tacos, rice, beans) and they were delicious. I topped mine with the aforementioned onions and cilantro, a squirt of lime, and a dash of verde salsa.

My husband and I are frequent flyers at Taqueria Jalisco. And when we found out that there would be another Jalisco’s to open we were very excited. We were also NOT disappointed. The food at Jalisco grill is excellent. Not only do they serve real Mexican food but it is fresh and full of flavor. Some Mexican restaurants in Tahoe are bland with no real spices or even salt added. Jalisco Grill is really great and we love eating there. Lastly they customer service is excellent! y husband loves grilled bell peppers. Once he asked if they could put them on his burrito, the owner thought for a second and then said… shoot yeah good idea! Since then when asked grilled bell peppers are a requested thing. Good food, good atmosphere, also great prices.

NONO and HELLNO !!! Why this place even has stars is amazing do people not have good taste? First off before you can even breathe the chick at the front starts talking super fast telling you they only take cash and pick a drink from the cold box if you can understand all that she says … There are no fountain drinks no ice and a very small menu and small portions. The food is HORRIBLE !!! I had the pork tamales and they were watery not even edible … The masa was tasteless … My dad ordered the asada plate again tasteless no seasonings and the grilled pepper(which is why he ordered the plate) was not grilled at all… We are locals and this is the last time we will ever eat here… Lazy cook and you can tell !!! Cash only business ummmmmm … Save your money eat anywhere but here!!! UPDATE: MYDADSAIDHEWAITEDTOTELLMEUNTILWELEFTTHATTHEREWERERATTRAPSINTHEMENSBATHROOM… He knew had he told me I would have flipped out and caused a scene. Wth does the health department not check South Lake Tahoe restaurants? Thank god I wasn’t able to eat the food is all I can say !!!

This place is dirt cheap and the food is excellent! I got a flautas plate which came with either beef or chicken flautas(4) with rice, beans, guacomole, cheese, sour cream, chips and of course salsa. Food was great, meat in the flautas was moist and the salsa and cheese topping didn’t turn them soggy. Their homemade salsa at the salsa bar is amazing!!! This whole meal cost only $ 6.50. Bring cash though because this is a cash only joint. The owner is super nice! You can tell he genuinely wants to take care of his customers and make sure you leave happy.

A pretty solid burrito! I thought the asada was flavorful and while it was wrapped unusually loosely, the tortilla tasted really fresh making it all a good experience. Also the burrito is huge and their roasted salsa is particularly good.

Checked this place out after reading some good reviews on Unilocal. Overall, the food was pretty good. Large amounts of food for a really decent price. The previous night I spent $ 15 on tacos and $ 7 on a beer at a bar at a golf course… At Jalisco Grill, we got a three tacos plate w/rice and beans, a HUGE burrito, chips and a beer, for $ 17! Can’t beat that. My wife’s chicken tacos were a bit bland, but came with lots of toppings and there was a good variety of salsas to choose from. Didn’t LOVE it, didn’t HATE it. Overall, it was fine. Great price for decent food.

I give two stars because the service was good and because the pastor was good. Other wise burrito was huge but once you take a bite it’s all lettuce. I was expecting cheese rice beans all the goods and nothing but lettuce I had to open my burrito to pull it out because it was so much. They don’t put cilantro and onion mix on tacos you have to doit it your self which isn’t a big deal but the presentation didn’t make it look very appetizing. Nothing about the food was over the top just super bland. I’m willing to try again, maybe they we’re having an off day because the other reviews seem good.

Wanted some good authentic Mexican food while in Tahoe and saw all the great reviews! Sorry to say but we were disappointed. The place was packed. You order once you walk through r the door and stand in a line. I like that effect but our food took awhile to be ready. It looks like they get to the TO-GO orders quickly but the dine-in takes awhile. We ordered the chicken burrito with verde sauce and a chicken torta. The burrito was huge but not too tasty. The verde sauce lacked flavor as well. The torta was dry and the bread mediocre. Definitely have had better Mexican food. Even the chips were blah. The staff is super friendly and the prices cheap. And for that we would return and maybe order something else.

We stopped by Jalisco Grill on the way back from a lovely morning hike at Taylor Creek just up the lake. Ten of us — six famished adults and four hungry kids — wanting to pick up something quick and head back to our resort before fatigue set in. Our orders covered every section of their menu, from veggie nachos to cheese quesadillas to carne asada tacos. The whole bill came to a fraction over $ 50. For ten people! Service was polite and thoughtful even though we didn’t eat in. They sweetly gave us chips and salsa to munch on while our orders were prepared, and packed our orders in different bags so we could easily identify them once we got back to our rooms. Everyone enjoyed their meals, finishing them in 10 minutes or less once they started digging in. I’d ordered four different tacos($ 1.50 each) — and especially enjoyed the chile verde, lengua and al pastor versions(the fourth — birria — had an adobo-like seasoning that didn’t do it for me). Will definitely stop by again, this time to dine in and enjoy some of the Pozole other Unilocalers have been raving about, and try some more of those delicious tacos!

The best pozole I’ve ever had !! My boyfriend ordered the pozole and three steak soft tacos and I got the Cali burrito but with rice and beans instead of meat and that thing was huge I could only eat half and I’m still stuffed! I tried the pozole and tacos and they were so good. I love that the bar has the cilantro and onion so you can put as much as you want on your food(I like a lot!). I definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be returning before we leave tahoe. that pozole is still in my mind: P
