Amazing food, amazing atmosphere! We have enjoyed dining here for 10+ years, today as we are hosting friends we run across the owners of the establishment who are salt of the earth, down to earth folks who make us feel right at home. Will continue to give them our business for the rest of time!

My fish and chips was really good but my girlfriend’s swordfish was really disappointing as was the coleslaw. Our service was really good but I felt bad for the guy since he was the only server working everything. Might try this place again come summer time but then again the Beacon my be my first choice.

Off the beaten tourist path, you can usually skip the crowds here. The ambiance is great(on the water, homey feel), but the food is just eh. Especially for the price. They do have great daily happy hour deals and quite a few TVs making it a good option for Football Sunday which I wouldn’t have guessed.

The food was delicious!!! The ambiance was soothing with the live jazz band. The only concern was that there was only one waitress on shift but it was Thanksgiving weekend.

Great food, amazing customer service, and a very warm/inviting environment. We had the baked oysters, grilled salmon, and lobster bisque soup. If you’re looking for a great mixed drink I would recommend the beach runners! We will definitely be back!

I don’t have a hour to write a review about the hundreds of horrible things that happened during our dinner experience. There was 12 of us and we all walked away from this restaurant with our jaw dropped on how horrible our experience was. We honestly thought we were on a punked reality show. Sadly it was real life. Like I said I don’t have time to one by one write everything that went wrong. But it was sooooo bad. Probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had!!! I would give negative stars if I could.

Their shrimp linguini tasted delicious as well as their calamari. However, their fish and chips did not taste that good at all. I probably would come back to try other things.

You need to try this place if you are in Lake Tahoe! Everything we ordered was amazing! We had a slight miscommunication at first but the manager and her staff more than made up for it. We will continue to come here and are so glad that we found this spot!

Today, something went haywire at Fresh Ketch. We are local and frequent this establishment. We were able to order off the happy hour menu; however, at the point of delivery, the server told us only a few things could be prepared. This happened around the 5 p.m. shift-change. As other patrons entered the establishment, they were told no more food could be prepared. Apparently the night chef decided he had had enough(of whatever was his issue with management) and had not shown up for work along with a number of other kitchen workers. The light fare we got was quite good. Only wish we could have gotten the full order and not the drama that was unfolding from all the others being turned away. Something obviously needs to change with the management of this establishment.

Great bar, live music and delicious food. Blackened fish tacos are a consistent good meal as are most of their salads. Some dishes are a crap shoot, like their roasted garlic and lava cake. The sad thing is their management is very irregular and staffing issues make the wait for seating and food a nightmare. Fortunately it is a fun environment to wait in, but there is nothing quick about the service and it isn’t the fault of the wait staff who always hustle. Be very cautious going midweek as it can be even worse… and the cook could be anyone. Hats off to Deb and Thoran when they are in charge, and the very hard working Ethan. Overall the staff is on it. So much potential to be a real getaway and destination eatery.

Small plastic cups for anything non alcoholic because«glasses break». Out of chowder by 6 pm? You don’t close til 10, make more. Lobster bisque shouldn’t taste like it has a shot of gin in it. Super abrasive. The music was so loud people were texting each other to be heard. Sad. Unfortunately unforgettable experience.

The Fresh Ketch really came through for my family. The original plan was to have a nice BBQ, but one week before the wedding, I decided we should have the rehearsal dinner at a restaurant. Wow! Deb, Bryce, and The Chefs really came through for us. They put together an amazing buffet for 55 people in less than a week. They took great care of everyone and really worked with us! Thanks Fresh Ketch!

Visited just recently. Unfortunately, not as I had experienced before. Our waiter really did the very best he could do for us. but the ambiance and great food are not what I remember from a few years ago. My husband had blackened Swordfish. A very different type of swordfish arrived at our table. Not bad tasting, but not as expected. I think the place needs an overhaul. Too bad, used to love this place.

We used to come here years ago when we visited Lake Tahoe. We always used to have good meals here, but not this time. Don’t know if the ownership changed or something, but it was not a good experience. I had a Reuben and the meat was tough and difficult to eat. The Reuben looked great, but was far from it. The french fries were like frozen bland fries you get out of the freezer section and bake up yourself with no «substance» to them and no taste. Others in the party were not happy with their meals either, and we are not that picky. Service was great. Sorry to say, this wonderful location is off our list.

Off the beaten path and a great find. My folks and I were looking for fresh raw oysters after a day of sightseeing. We’ve had raw oysters in seafood predominant places like Hawaii, Seattle and San Francisco. We ordered a dozen oysters, just took a gamble and they were fresh and delicious. We were talking about how good they were days later. The atmosphere is very comfy and casual. The two servers on staff were very busy but remained friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in Tahoe again.

We were craving seafood one night and our hotel recommended us to check out The Fresh Ketch. It was right on the water, prices seemed decent, and we get seafood! Perfect! That’s exactly what we were craving. We visited Tahoe during the off season(right before ski season). So due to the lack of hustle and bustle, we noticed many stores and restaurants closed down parts of their businesses. The Fresh Ketch was one of them. The restaurant seemed a bit quiet when we pulled into their parking lot. It’s at the end of a marina without any signs pointing the way, so we just followed the GPS and hoped that it would lead us to the right spot. As we walked in, there was a sign that said«Please seat yourself,» and so we grabbed a table near the window. The restaurant seems to be separated into two parts. The downstairs has more of a lounge feel to it. Definitely casual and the menu is more bar food. Online, the menu had a blurb that said, «Please join us for fine dining upstairs…,» so I assume it’s a bit more formal upstairs. Since we were hoping for something a little nicer, we inquired about the upstairs formal dining. Unfortunately, it was closed already due to the lack of patrons during the off season. Sad… However, the general manager and our server was extremely helpful and they accommodated us to the best of their ability. Such great service! However, as great as the service was, the food was definitely not quite up to par for the amount we paid. I ordered the halibut with roasted macadamia nuts. The halibut was cooked well and flavorful, but they substituted my quinoa for risotto, which turned out to be pretty gross and over buttered. The macadamia nuts also didn’t blend well with the halibut, so I ended up scraping most of the nuts and onions off my fish. Price of my deconstructed dish: $ 33. I know that’s not bad for halibut, but the overall experience of the dish just didn’t quite make it. My boyfriend ordered the seafood linguine. It was delicious overall, but there was a huge lobster crab claw in his pasta that was not cracked. Without any claw cracking utensil other than his teeth, how was he supposed to get that opened? Plus, it’s seafood linguine. so there’s sauce everywhere. My boyfriend. in a nice dress shirt. with a saucy uncracked lobster claw. no bueno. Cost of the uncracked lobster claw linguine: $ 27. Overall, I can’t say I’m happy with my experience here. Despite the good service, the food just wasn’t worth it. Perhaps it would’ve been different if we just stuck to the bar menu.
