Well… I can tell ya, I never thought I’d be writing a review of a doctor’s office. This is kinda crazy, and I’m kinda laughing as I start. =D Anyway, I’ve been coming to these offices for over a year now. My original reason was on a recommendation to Dr. Bartell, who I was told was great in that she really listens and pays attention and doesn’t just treat you as a number. The recommendation was quite accurate. She’s quite professional, and I never feel like I’m some kind of burden. I recommend her at 5 stars without a second thought. Another doctor treated me there once, and though I can’t find his name, he wasn’t at all disappointing. The other staff are pretty great. Reception are pretty standard; very business-up-front.(I suppose that’s literal *and* figurative.) ;) I admit that I’m used to being on the phone for a while to get an appointment, but that’s what speakerphone is for. I also know better than to call during lunch hours and so on. The billing department has been awesome. They’re supportive and have helped me above and beyond my requests when things haven’t gone quite according to plan. The one thing that bothers me is that if you’re more than 15 minutes late, they may require you to reschedule. It kinda pisses me off in that doctor offices are notorious for making you wait for half of forever, but this place isn’t as bad as all that. Still, it irks me. The programs that Providence offers are quite impressive. This office(and likely all of Providence) has a financial assistance program that can help you out if you have no insurance and don’t make so much money. They are engaging in a program, a «medical home» of some sort(not a building, not a place to be left when you are old), in which you receive easily-understood explanations and cordial treatment in exchange for being honest with your doctor and some other reasonable requests that I don’t clearly remember at 3:18am. The office has 1 or 2 days a week in which all appointments are walk-ins or emergencies. This function got me into the office for an earlier appointment, even if not with my preferred doctor. That went well though, as I think I remarked earlier. The office is located in a cute section of South Lyon. Very… small-town downtown feel, and having lived in Milford, I’m one to know! =) Inside, it’s rather standard… they might use a few more magazines, but they have a room for kids with some paintings on the wall and things. Anyway, the place is clean and in good repair, so that’s all I really want. I’m really tempted to rate this place as a 5. I’d love to rate it a 4.5…maybe even 4.75. I think, even when I move another half-hour further from this place, I’ll still come here. It’s worth it.
