Slek Styling Bar

I went to Slek yesterday to redeem my Groupon that I decided to purchase for 2 bundles after reading the great reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and love my beautiful new style! Shantella is a wonderful stylist, and Marilyn (the owner) and Sonaya were also awesome. I love the transformation that I received, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the salon and will be back soon to receive a blowout!

Stylist –experienced, pleasant, and always helpful (when consulting on new styles or extensions of all kinds).
Owner –well organized, runs a clean shop, and always solves issues if any arise.
Salon –has a great atmosphere, the women there always play nice music, they have coffee (super plus) and Slek has its own hair care line! Oh not to forget they have an online appointment system. Lovvveeee love love. It’s always convenient for those last minute appointments.
Side note: salon is near great restaurants if you ever get hungry!
P.S bring quarters or debt/​credit card for 3 hour metered parking ($ 1.50=3hrs) during day time hours (free after 6pm).
I recommend this shop 100%. I’ve been a client since they’ve opened. I’m hooked on Slek.

I liked the atmosphere of the salon. It was very clean. The stylists and owner were very friendly and accommodating. Most importantly, I am very satisfied with my hair and all at a great price. My daughter also got her first blow out and it looked great. Unfortunately, it only lasted for a couple of days. We will definitely go back. The salon is also conveniently located. I will continue to support this new business.

Let me start off by saying that the people that work there are very nice. They will offer you something to drink or eat, while you are getting your hair done. The shop is also very clean and the atmosphere is good.
Let’s put all that aside, I was super excited because I bought a $ 200 groupon for a sew in. It included 2 virgin hair bundles and installation. I needed all my hair left in because I’m losing my hair so I asked for bangs. The stylist convinced to get a lace front at an additional $ 90 because of the versatility and I figured why not. 3 hours when everything was all installed, it kind of looked like I had a big wig on my head but then they hit it with the curlers and it looked cute.
I got compliments on the hair but my biggest complaint is about the lace front.
It’s been less than a week and the lace front is sliding back pretty far and lifting up to the point that you can see braids one and two rows back. Its also wrinkling up so that natural and versatile look that I was going for isn’t actually happening.

The ladies here are awesome and my hair looked great after it was done. I would suggest a blow out package, because purchasing one at a time is 40.00. I like it here and would recommend

Beautifully appointed salon, clean, friendly stylist staff. The owner could be friendlier and introduce herself to clients, especially since it’s a new business.
Great blow out and deep conditioner under the dryer. After three days and two workouts my hair still feels and looks amazing. I will definitely support this local business. One star short of 5 stars because I had to wait 15 min from my appointment time to the time the stylist started my service.
