Sunrise Karate

Sunrise Karate is a hidden gem in NYC and a World Class Karate dojo. This Karate Dojo has produced a World Champion in sport karate, countless national level karate champions and most importantly a haven for personal growth through the art of karate.
I came into this dojo as a novice, I started martial arts pretty late, i was 19 at the time. six years later, earned my black belt now I compete in Mixed Martial Martial arts kickboxing and became a fitness instructor myself. Something that seemed like a faint thought if not for the guidance and amazing environment I was provided for at Sunrise Karate!
This is the place for you if you want to learn karate in a traditional, yet judgment free way. Everyone is very helpful and supportive of each other and their is a strong bond between everyone in a, very positive way.
Needless to mention this is an amazing environment for children. The experiences here will provide your child in a positive environment where strong friendships are forged, they will learn the value of hard work, dedication and persistence in a very positive fashion.

Sensei Jeffrey Weber is the real deal. He has trained under renowned Sensei Toyotaro Miyazaki and has represented his presence at Sensei Miyazaki’s own school in Japan.
He is a hard-​working dedicated teacher who has a no-​nonsense approach to the philosophy of Shotokan and Karate-​Do but has the kindness and patience to convey the art to ages young and older.
Sensei Weber is knowledgeable and a positive force to all who come in contact with him. He has been a complete positive role model to all the younger students he has taught teaching them all forms of discipline on all levels – mental, physical and spiritual. He has garnered much respect through the years and it is seen by the way his students will go the extra mile for him and vice-​versa.
I recommend Sunrise Karate for anyone who wants more from a martial art discipline and to immerse themselves into an environment that allows them to absorb its subtleties.

I am a long time friend of Sensei Rojas, he has been a mentor and example to me since the 80’s. In 2013 I was able to meet Sensei Weber and take his classes I was impressed with his knowledge and his command over this great art form we call Karate-​Do. I currently live in Arizona but when I visit New York City I plan to train at Sunrise Karate. I would highly recommend Sunrise Karate and Sensei Weber for great instruction in the martial arts.
