Either I used to live under a rock and thought this place was pretty decent or they’ve seriously gone downhill. We used to come here all the time for brunch and an occasional dinner with friends, and always left so happy. For whatever reasons we hadn’t been in a while and started coming back again a few months ago. The first time back we were so disappointed and underwhelmed with our entrees, over sauced, unbalanced flavors just not coming together properly. Just not good. We decided to come back a few weeks later just for some small bites and a drink in the bar. The bartender was not friendly at all. And yet again we were seriously underwhelmed by our choices and also perplexed over how you could mess up an arugula salad, the ingredients didn’t make any sense together it was really unenjoyable. For the price point its just not worth it to be underwhelmed. It’s a shame because its such a nice location with a beautiful patio and a cozy bar.

This is one of a few go-to places for brunch is South Pasadena. Unfortunately, the parking can be difficult, street parking only. Their menu seems a bit stale, for brunch, it really has no evolved in the past few years. While they have some core quality choices, many other items are tired and not really great quality. The Banana Walnut pancake is supposed to be a specialty item, but I find it a little bland and without much banana. A plus is you can sit outside with your doggy, but do expect to have to keep them on the outside of the fence while you sit inside.

I was introduced to this place by my coworker. Their food is really tasty and the ambiance is really nice too. The only complaint would be their sides/condiments. –A side of Avocado is almost $ 5 –They water down their tapatio… every time I get a bottle, its the consistency of tabasco and I need a lot of it. –No homemade or fresh salsa for breakfast items. –No ranch for my fries. ahhhhh! But I still recommend this place to friends. Their food is great… maybe I’ll bring a small Tupperware of my homemade salsa for my breakfast scramble: P

I’ve been reading that the service here is hit or miss, but I guess if you go after the lunch rush they are pretty attentive. so . FOODQUALITY: Though I haven’t tried many corned beef hash, the one here was pretty good: it’s mildly salty taste really paired well with the sweetness of the onions and peppers. I kind of wished that the potato hash was crisp to give it some texture other than soft, but firm mush– but everything was cooked right: soft, firm eggs, not-so-greasy potatoes & hash that really goes well with ketchup(and optionally hot sauce.) SERVICE: Service was pretty standard; I didn’t encounter any problems and they were easy to flag down to get things that I needed. ENVIRONMENT: The outdoor patio is … pretty cramped where they try to shove as many tables together as possible. There’s really not any perk in sitting outside other than baking in the sun . Overall, the food is good but it’s not amazing. I wouldn’t really make an effort to come out here though.

This place is cute! I like the space and location and love that the tables are mostly outside to enjoy the morning sunshine. I thought the service was attentive and friendly too. Great place to get together and catch up with friends because the food is mostly secondary to the ambiance. Had brunch at 10:30am on a Friday and they didn’t have half the menu available. We ordered a couple Anne’s favorites and heuvos rancheros. The bacon were big crispy slices, the pancakes were fluffy and chewy, eggs were fine, potatos were fine, beans came a little watery, and they have tapatio. The food I felt was basic – it wasn’t bad but there wasn’t anything too memorable about anything we ate either. Overall I think it’s still a good spot, good vibes restaurant. But don’t come specifically for the food.

I came here on a weekend to give it a try since every time we pass by, it is BUSY! It was busy just as expected. Location: This is located right on Mission. The only parking I know of is on the street, which wasn’t very difficult to find. Most of the seating is outdoors, there are very few tables inside. Service: When we arrived, we walked up to the counter to get seated and 2 employees walked right by us without greeting us. We finally got seated and it took a while for our server to introduce her self and it took even longer for us to get our drinks. I guess what I’m trying to say is that service here wasn’t up to par. Food: A few things we tried… Chicken sausage, avocado, and cheese omelette($ 12.95) — This was not very good. It was extremely bland. When I bit into it, it was like they forgot to add their salt. I added salt to it and was slightly better, but still not great. It has chicken apple sausage, swiss cheese, avocado and green onions. I wouldn’t order this again. Sweet potato fries($ 6.50) — This was pretty good. The sweet potato fries were sweet and cooked crispy. However, the price for the amount that we got was a bit on the high side. Crispy chicken sandwich($ 12.95) — This was DISGUSTING to me. It is apparently only available on Sundays, so we thought it had to be great! Boy were we wrong. The chicken had no flavor and texture was weird. The texture was crumbly. I couldn’t even finish it ¼ of my sandwich. Overall: I won’t be coming back here again. Service was not so good, the price is on the high side, and the food wasn’t very good. The only nice thing about this place is that they have outdoor seating, which was nice and relaxing.

Stopped here for a Saturday Brunch at about 11am and was pleasantly surprised with having no wait! We lucked out, because often this place is packed. We got several dishes. The lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote was a real winner! The lemon pancakes were light and fluffy and matched perfectly with the blueberries– truly a winning combo! The breakfast quesadilla was flavorful and cheesy! The Huevos Rancheros was pretty good and better than most places I’ve tried. We also got the Farmer’s scramble(only sold on Sat/Sun) which was basically a mixing of potatoes and omelette fillings in a delicious bowl! I would have given this place 5 stars for their food and great atmosphere(beautiful patio on a nice day), but the service definitely knocks this place down a bit. Would come back though! Can’t wait to try their lunch too!

2nd time here for breakfast and was very good! This place has a nice outdoor patio and bar area. I had the eggs and hash which was great! It as not salty and good portion sized. I want to come back and try the dinner menu. The bar does have a TV. Many of these portions are large and can be shared. The coffee is excellent and strong. Service was also good, staff was friendly.
