Don’t visit hungry. You’ll leave with everything! We get every birthday cake from here. The brownies are amazing as well. To be honest, the cupcakes are fun for kids, but not their best item.

Always stop here for fresh rye bread. Never had any of their cakes or pastries myself but I have bought some for various functions and those that have consumed them always have good things to say.

Went here for Donuts because Plainfield donut shop was closed on Sunday’s and I promised my dad who was staying with us an old fashioned donut. Well, he got one! The had the yummy cakey donuts with the crispy outside and soft cakey middle. They had cinnamon cake donuts and glazed donuts like a crueller. All of them amazing! The chocolate donut with coconut was my favorite. I did not try the Boston Crème or Jelly because they are not what I’m into, but they looked wonderful. You will not be disapointed.

I am a fan for many years, but what happened to the cheese in the cheese pockets? It seems to have shrunk down to almost nothing.

Best bakery I’ve ever been to. Cakes and other treats taste fresh. Always just the right amount of sweetness. My family and I always get our holiday cakes from this bakery.

Yea, this is an awesome bakery. They have homemade donuts, and even though they aren’t like west coast donuts, they are loads better than dunkin or entenmann’s. They have a lot of assorted cookies and breakfast pastries, but I like that they sell slices of lot of different types of cakes. I went with the chocolate cheesecake, which wasn’t my favorite, but still pretty good. Can’t wait to go back and try more.

This a nice neighborhood bakery with a awesome selection of bread, cakes and cookies. The staff well sometimes understaffed during busy times is pleasant and helpful. I suggest using cash because they impose a $ 10 minimum for debit or credit purchases. I say if you’re in south plainfield give this place a visit

This is an amazing bakery. Everything they make tastes so fresh and good. The key lime pie may have been the best I’ve ever had. So was the oreo chocolate butter cream cake. I have not had anything here that is not great. I am looking forward to trying their freshly made doughnuts one morning too.

You walk into this place and you can smell bakery and feel overwhelmed by the great display and selection. Its a neighborhood joint that feels like it has a bit of history to it. As I look at around, people are coming in and out getting their favorites. As I am into pastry exploration, I decide to pick the following items, a slice of chocolate cake, a small strawberry shortcake, a cinnamon roll, and apple turnover. Generally speaking they all seem to hearty or thick in consistency in terms of texture and icing. chocolate cake: tastes like the cake you have at your neighbor’s house with coffee. Icing is thick, cake part is medium moistness. strawberry shortcake: I love the fresh strawberries on top and in between layers, however cake texture and icing too thick and sweet IMHO. Cinnamon roll: Giant in size, but again kinda big on bread and would have liked more cinnamon in the swirl. Apple turnover: Big in size, ok in filling, but again the texture doesn’t have the flakiness I look for in a pastry. In summary, not a bad place to visit and get the local feel, but let me know if my notes on the above items agree with your experience.

Good baked goods. Friendly counter girl. Great doughnuts. Get the old fashioned crueler rolled in sugar or the vanilla frosted French crueler. Standard cookies and bakery options. Go here to satisfy your sweet tooth.

We were at Watchung Square Mall and I looked in Unilocal for local bakeries. I am always on the lookout for a new place, and I always search Unilocal for local places when I am out and about. This place was great. I had an apple dumpling that tasted like it came from the Amish country. The red velvet cheesecake was ridiculously large and rich. I could only manage 3 bites. We also had a custard tart that was good. Our daughter got a sponge bob cookie but I knew that was going to be gross– things like that always are and I don’t think it was made at the bakery. I am totally going come back because they were out of the pretzels that other people had raved about and that is the whole reason why I went in the first place. Excellent spot. I will be returning the next time I am anywhere close by. I may even come here especially for a cake for an event– they looked really good!!!

Walk in, open you eyes, stop drooling, and pick a few rich-tempting-mouthwatering-heavenly desserts. I walked out with a rapberry twist and an overloaded chocolate cupcake. Everything is presented deliciously. The place smells so divine, you serioulsy cannot walk in for just one thing.

AMAZING… have never got anything from here that I haven’t absolutely loved. The pretzel rolls as everyone suggested are really to die for. I always pick up something from here before visiting someone. They are always very impressed!

Best bakery in the area by far! Selection is wide. Everything is fresh. My favorite bakery closed/relocated 5years ago or so and I was thrilled when I found this place.

I love Haisch’s. Let me tell you why — on my Mom’s birthday this past year, all she wanted was a banana cream pie. I was not about to try my hand at making one, so off I went to 6 or 7 different bakeries to ask if they had one I could buy. Now, to be fair, I was there on the day that I needed the pie, so it’s not that the other bakeries were lacking in some way, but Haisch’s went so FAR above my expectations … After 6 or 7 bakeries telling me that I would need to order one special, or no, they don’t make that kind of pie at all, Haisch’s was a refreshing change. I walked in, they were very friendly, and they told me that if I could wait 15 minutes, they would MAKE one for me in the back. If that wasn’t enough, a small pie was pretty inexpensive(compared to other bakeries) and it was DELICIOUS! I’ve since been back there many times, and their breads are soft and delicious but with the right amount of crunch to their crust, their pastries are sweet and fresh … I could live in this bakery …

This place is great. I have been coming to this establishment for years. Very typical european bakery but consistently good. Everything from their breads to their desserts is just simply yummy. If I need a quick cannoli fix, this is my spot. Their STRAWBERRYNAPOLEON is one of my favorites! Not too sweet and the same everytime. Practically anything with a strawberry on it from this place is awesome in my book. The only think I could think of that would bother some folks is that their cannolis are prepared before hand so its been refridgerated for a decent amount of time, thus not making them entirely too crunchy, BUT that’s how I like them =)

A local gem found near a liquor store. Seriously. From the outside, one wouldn’t imagine that a bakery would be found here but upon entering the bakery, my friend and I were transported into a mini-world of pastry delights! OOH! LOOK! THATONE! NO! CHECKOUTTHISONE! OMG, THISWHOLESECTIONISDEDICATEDTOSTRAWBERRIES!!! My friend and I reverted back to our adolescent equivalent when we saw the amount of baked goods in this place. The bakery was a lot bigger than we initially thought. Possibly, it might have been an illusion through the glass cases(like how mirrors make a space look bigger) but it was probably more like the owners knew how to utilize the space well. What I liked about this bakery was that it was clearly a family-run business. The pastries had a homemade quality about them — instead of appearing like regal little pleasantries, these pastries were fat, humble-looking monsters.(in a still aesthetically-pleasing manner) Although I like chocolate, I didn’t want to eat a chocolate pastry so I was thrilled to discover plenty of other options. I chose a Strawberry roll cake and a piece of Tiramisu. Both were great because they weren’t densely sweet and cavity-inducing. The strawberries were huge on the mini-cake and the cream filling was the best, having that sweet heavy cream quality about it that some western-style bakeries sometimes fail with in their frostings/creams. Both cake pieces were $ 4.50. It’s a little pricy but the pastries are FAT and enjoyable. From the flavors of the cakes, I could tell that the concept of this bakery is an asian interpretation of western-style confections. However, I think it works really well because the cakes are clearly delicious and satisfying.
