The place was really nice but don’t let that fool your perception of the food. The food wasn’t so great. Hot sour soup was a twist, and a bad one. The tom yum soup was pretty good and spicy. We ordered kung pao chicken and pepper garlic chicken. THEYWERETHESAME. Same sauce, very salty, and so much soy sauce. In addition, the waitress wasn’t that great either. She said the lo mein was enough for 6 people but in reality, 2 teens could only share that. The dessert was alright. Ice cream was good but the brownie could’ve been better. Overall, the steamed rice was the best part.

We made a reservation for 7:45 pm on Jan 1 we actually reached there at 8:10 pm and the guy at the counter said we waited and gave away your table He was very very rude and he said we aren’t supposed to call customers and I said the least they could have done was call us as we tried to call them Anyways long story short he said I cannot give u a table anymore and I don’t know how long of a wait it will be There should be some way to teach these type of rude restaurants that they are running Becoz of us customers I run a business too in Edison and I can vouch that I would never be this rude to my customers Well a very amazing way to ruin our New Years dinner plans I will never ever visit this place and I will make sure I tell all my customers never to visit a restaurant which is so rude to their patrons

Momo’s are pretty ok. The pepper shrimp appetizer was ok too. The rest is overly spiced up with no rhyme or reason. Won’t be eating here anymore.

Good indo-chinese food. Better than most others which tend to use excessive preservatives or MSG.

Love this place. I realize this place is a chain but it doesn’t feel or like it, nor have I been to any other location. This place really excels at the Indo-Chinese food niche. Great selection with tons of vegetarian options. They have and sell 6 sauces to go with their food and it’s a very nice setup for them at each table and it’s quite fun to experiment. Service was excellent and quick. Be cognizant of their spice levels, things marked as spicy are truly spicy and I have a pretty tolerant pallete. Great use of chili peppers that really add that Indian food heat and complex flavor to traditional Chinese favorites. I’ve only been here twice but look forward to going back and trying even more from the menu. The ambiance and décor are also very well done and give it a classy flair– great for a date night or special occasion and it’s BYOB.

We had been to the restaurant in the summer and were not too impressed with the food but enjoyed the ambiance. Hence decided to give it another try. Ordered delivery on Black Friday. Best part was the environmentally friendly paper boxes rather than the usual Styrofoam and tin foil packaging! The worst was the food! I asked for my food to be made spicy and the food came back oily, and bland with hot chili sauce added to every dish! There was absolutely no flavor for Indian Chinese food! The portions are also smaller and pricier. Disappointed!

The food is really amazing. Nice ambiance but I would have been even better if the waiter had a smiling face :)

This is one of the best Indo Chinese restaurants in the greater NYC area. There are several options for vegetarians as well. Crispy chili baby corn is a must try! Their collection of sauces are very good for appetizers.

Great ambiance, very friendly staff! I was tired of the same recipes everywhere in this area, but Bamboo Garden has creative recipes and unique taste in every dish(they don’t just use the same sauce in every plate). Also, a vegetarian friendly restaurant with various options as well. Would definitely recommend!

AWSOMEPLACE:) If you dont try this restaurant you will miss out on some real good indo chinese food. This place serves best indo chinese in New Jersey. My favorite dish is chilli dry fish Uuumaaaaaa. Restaurant has good ambience, its clean, our server was Latish very attentive he was engaged with all the guests making sure everything thing was fine, ask him for suggestions on what to try he suggested really good appetizers and food to us. They are BYOB. we had a great time. I wish they were located on oak tree road in Iselin, that would have been a tough competition for other indo chinese restaurant… Simply love this place :)

We ordered the paneer tikka appetizer, gobi manchurian in sauce and vegetable lo mein. Food was tasty, attentive service and we left quite happy. Fast forward to the next day and we were both hanging out in the bathroom for the better part of the day. Not sure what happened but we won’t be back.

So, this is the second time i am reviewing this place(FYI. The first time review of 1-star was the same chain in San Francisco area). After my disastorous experience with this chain in Cali, this was a totally different experience. This place is a little tuck away from the rest of the Indian market in the Edison/Iselin area, i will say a little off the beaten path but well, its worth the extra 3-mile drive that you guys will make. Consistently as the other chain place the décor was nice but this is a way smaller restaurant than the other one i visited but not conjusted at all. The seating is good and the décor is edgy. We reached there aroun 9:30 on Saturday night. The place was pretty crowded but we didn’t had to wait for a table. The staff was attentive and i really liked one of the server girls she was very polite and was very good at serving. Coming to food, we ordered 2 appetizers and 2 main courses. I wanted to eat desert but was too full with the food already LOL. The food was delicious and on spot. We didnt needed any extra sauces, the flavours were right the spice level was right. This place has a really good chef i must say. I think they should have this guy train the rest of the chain chef’s. The chicken was moist in all dishes. I was a little siappointed with the cauliflower manchurain, a little bland it was compare dto teh other dishes, but well. If you are going there i will recommend try their chicke dishes it’s really good and if you are vegetarian as the guys who take your order, they will definately recommend you something good. If you are in the area, go and try it out. This will be worth your time and the little extra money that they charge. NOTE: Although, i haven’t tried any of the dishes from my horrible last visit, but after seeing the quality here i will definately be giving them a shot again at this location.

This is the best Indo-Chinese place I have been to in the U.S. The staff is very friendly and takes care of the customers’ palate when suggesting their dishes. I would highly recommend people to try this awesome restaurant.

Restaurant is big and clean! Went in with a group of 13 and the place had sufficient room for a small party. Looked at one of the comments which said Indo Chinese, yes it tasted perfect Indianized version of chinese food. Wonderful selection and great variety of vegetable dishes. Because we were in a big group I got to taste different dishes including Chilli Crispy Baby corn, Manchow soup, Burnt Garlic Fried Rice, 4 Treasure Fried rice, Chicken Drums. I personally liked 4 treasure, burnt garlic fried rice and manchow soup. A Kingfisher with crispy chilli baby corn would be the best combination! The staff were helpful and gave in some good information on how the restaurant works.

A couple of friends and myself visited Bamboo Garden thinking that it was an upscale Chinese resteraunt, but the poor service overshadowed the good food. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no one in the restaurant. Everything looked clean and the staff was right at the door asking of we wanted a table or booth. We choose booth, but when we sat down the guy asked if we were sure we wanted the booth we sat in. We were already sitting and didn’t want to move. The guy ended up being okay with us sitting there, but he seemed to be mad that we sat where we sat. We were given water and weren’t offered anything else to drink. The menu was fairly large and the prices weren’t too bad($ 16 for a big bowl of sweet and sour chicken). We each wanted to order an entrée as we were going on a trip and we’re likely going to eat the rest later, but when my friend ordered, the manager said«no, don’t order those. Order two entrees and some rice instead.» His accent was so heavy we couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t just lest us order. We ended up ordering 3 entrees, rice and lo mein much to the dissatisfaction of the manager who really wanted us to order what he suggested. The food came promptly and it was very good. Honestly this is the only thing that saved the review because I was very tempted to give it 1 star. One of my biggest pet peeves is people staring at me and the entire time we were eating the manager was standing on the other side of the room staring daggers into us. I guess we were the only people in the restaurant so they wanted to make sure we were taken care of. Still bad policy and a good way to make people feel uncomfortable and not want to come back. Would I ever go back? No. Would I recommend it to a friend? No. Just not a good place. A Chinese restaurant owned and run by Indians is not a recipe for success. Personally, the good food doesn’t make up for the poor service and attitude of the people running the restaurant.
