Knights Inn South Portland

I feel bad for leaving such a negative review for this inn, because at least the couple running it is very nice and they are trying. However, future visitors should know this hotel for what it is: it is very cheap in comparison to other nearby hotels, but it is also not very clean and part of it is definitely infested. The locals are not very fond of this inn; every local chauffeur I spoke with was very surprised that I checked in there first. The one who drove me for the first night even offered to wait at the gate so I could switch to another hotel (and in hindsight, I should have). Sorry, but it is what it is.

There was NO HOT WATER! When I told the owner he argued with me and said that is impossible. The owner was VERY RUDE and did not speak English very well. Do not go here!

Knight’s Inn is a very basic motel. No swimming pool, workout room or fancy breakfast. Just a clean, cozy place to shower, relax and crash after a tough day traveling or exploring.
The main attraction of this motel is the great location. Right on RT 1, it’s located across the street from a Dunkin Donuts and gas station and within a short walk to a convenience store and sandwich shops. There is even a DQ only a short distance away.
Being right on Main Street it’s very easy to find and once you leave it’s a short drive north to the city of Portland or a short drive south to Scarborough and Old Orchard. Can’t ask for a better location when exploring this part of Maine.
Nothing fancy or extravagant here. This is a place for people that don’t plan on staying around the motel and only want a hot shower, clean room and some peace and quiet. This is just the kind of motel we always look for. Clean, quiet, convenient and cheap.
