My husband and I stopped on our way back from fort Williams to grab lunch. The veggie flatbread we had was absolutely delicious and the salad we shared was equally good. The prices were excellent for such good quality food.

The restaurant is great as you can grab a bottle of wine with the food. The pizza’s crust could have been a little crispier and the soup was a little bland; but I do recommend it as the pasta was great and the vinegars for the bread is the best I have had in a while!

First time there was today. Just moved to SoPo from out of state. I am a real foodie and will not waste calories on bad food. This place will certainly provide so many delicious and fresh items that I am psyched to try. The fresh pasta we had for dinner was excellent.

I would give them a 5 star rating(great fresh pasta) if it weren’t for the young woman behind the counter last Sunday May 3rd. She was rude and unhelpful. We were talking to tourists that afternoon and sent them to this place to get a lunch for the beach. I am now sorry we did because this employee’s attitude and behavior was so bad is is an embarrassment to all of us locals.

ITISNOT A RESTAURANTWHEREYOUSITDOWN! I say that loud and upfront, because it’s a mistake I made. They do serve some food, but as take out. Primarily this is a store for quality, fresh made goods. Since we came a day or so before heading home from outta town, we didn’t get anything. The clerk who was there was very nice tho and offered to answer any questions. That parking lot is a tad confusing tho, so be careful how and where you park.

I literally stumbled upon Terra Cotta while being semi-lost in my new town of S. Portland. I was looking for Willard Beach and passed Terra Cotta making a mental note to stop by on my way home… and I’m glad I did!!! The first time I went in, I wasn’t really there to buy something, just to look around. While I was oooing and aahhing at the amazing variety of prepared meals, balsamic vinegar, wine, fresh homemade pasta and sauces, homemade hummus, salads, gelato and soups, the manager Jason came out from behind the counter and offered to give me a tour of the deliciousness that is Terra Cotta. I was already sold on Terra Cotta but Jason’s «tour»(the place is tiny and there is no inside seating) complete with descriptions of fresh, high-quality ingredients was enough to make me a fan and customer for life. Before I left I bought a container of the Chicken Marbella(everything looked incredible so I chose based on my love of Marbella, Spain). That evening I heated it up, put it on a pretty plate and tasted my first bite… YUM! Great flavors of Spain — olives, white wine, capers feta and a large portion of chicken over pasta. A restaurant quality meal for less than $ 10?! Yes please! I don’t eat a lot of pasta but I’m thinking that a pasta dish from Terra Cotta will be my new post-killer-workout-reward meal — something to look forward to after a long hike or mountain bike ride. Meanwhile I’ll get the roasted veggies, salads, gazpacho etc.

Usually I hold out reviews if a business already has an influx of them, but as for Terra Cotta Pasta Co. they definitely need a lot more. I cannot give this place more praise! I’ve eaten from here several times and tried different dishes, none of which let me down. If you’re from the coastal side of South Portland you should at least know about this place’s location on the way to Portland Headlight. Their small store front facing the road is cozy and cute. They have very limited seating outside and not a lot of room inside, but you appreciate their sense of style and décor nonetheless. But enough about the store. How’s it taste? I’ve had different pasta’s, sauces, pizza, and sandwiches. Side Story: these guys host a table at the Beach to Beacon 10K bib pickup and they hand out FREE samples of breads, and pasta served with various flavors of sauce, and it is mouth watering goodness. That’s perhaps when I first became hooked. I even shamelessly jumped back in line for seconds just to have more of their delicious house sauces. All of their stuff is made from scratch! Their pasta is the soft kind that needs refrigeration and they have a wide selection of choices. Plain is quite good, as well as their ginger. I urge anyone to sample their sauce options because each one has its own unique flavor. Recently I had some of their pre-made grilled sandwiches. The chicken and the crusted eggplant. They have cheese chunks, roasted tomato’s, and a really yummy dressing. I also like how the sandwiches are plenty filling without spilling their guts out when biting into them, a rare engineering feat. They offer to heat them up right there for you! The store also has other products, like Gorgeous Gelato, a small wine selection, and other oils, vinegars, pastries, salads, crab cakes, cheeses, etc. Yes the prices are not on the cheap side, but I firmly believe it’s worth it. The sandwich was around $ 7 and that was a decent sized filling between two slices of bread, so no, I’m not complaining about paying a little big of top dollar for some amazing food I don’t get to eat on a regular basis. The staff is always friendly too if that helps. A real niche place that I strongly suggest anyone give a try.

first of all, what a great phone number! this place is expensive so I expect high quality and unique food. check. check. The strombolis intrigued me, so i asked the worker about the best way to pack one to go. He had me pick a winner and hand it over to him. popped into a hot oven for 5 minutes, cut, and sided with marinara sauce. Nice! also got a chicken salad roll up, orange and cream soda, and bread pudding desert. chicken salad wasn’t special, but at least it had cut grapes and walnuts. It needs something else. I haven’t had the bread pudding yet, but it has oven directions printed on it, nice touch. And lots of free samples while you shop! I had my hands full of food, so the worker opened the door for me to leave. I get the feeling this is the kind of place that doesn’t take shortcuts. That’s food i want to eat.

My brother is a HUGE fan, but I am usually underwhelmed, compared to the better food nearby. I do like the veggie dumplings and Mac and cheese when I want something quick and easy to make at home. And the people working their are always kind and helpful.

Wonderful take out! We bought lasagna, two sauces, garlic/cheese ravioli, GARLIC bread, linguine, and fabulous meatballs! Just had to bake and boil. It was so fresh and delicious. Very helpful and nice people in the shop. We are visiting from PA and NY and we would love to have something like this at home. Thanks!

FOOD: 5 SERVICE: 4.5 ORDER: Crab cake, Salmon pasta Fresh ingredients, made to order. A family owned business. Uncooked pasta, wine, baked bread, and other entrees can be taken home. Service is good, plenty of parking. Don’t mistake this place as a sit down restaurant like I did. It’s just a store that makes food and has some outdoor seating. Will be back to try the lasagna and pizza next time!

Stopped for lunch on our way back from the lighthouse. Amazing bread, olive oil, cheese and soup. The staff was accommodating and friendly-they even made a special plain cheese flatbread pizza for the kids. We snacked at the picnic table outside and had a terrific lunch. I wish our hometown in NJ had a place like this.

This SOPO location is fabulous ~ great place to stop in for dinner for one, or pasta dinner for many. The pasta is fresh and there are great varieties. Also check out the pre-made delicacies — we’ve enjoyed the eggplant napolean and others to name a few. Panini wasn’t my favorite, but I’d carry home dinner from here often. Fabulous!

Not really a restaurant, but if you want to stop in for some scrumptious pasta or other Italian themed goodness that’s ready to take home then this is a spot for you. I can personally vouch for the lasagna, various flatbread pizza creations, salads and an assortment of their pasta options. There are all sorts of temptations like cheeses, balsamic and various olive oils to explore while you figure out what you want to eat and there are usually samples of something yummy as well. I only wish I remembered to steer my car in this direction more often.
