I’ve only had the pepper chicken fried rice but it’s amazing! Spicy but not too spicy.

I usually order takeout from this restaurant. I love their food, it’s exactly like the Chinese food back home in Guyana. I’ve been eating new thriving since I was a little princess(yes I’m a princess). Last night me and someone else wanted good Guyanese Chinese food so we went here. The food is excellent but there are many DRUNKS& they are soooo loud. Oh G*d !

I love love love their chicken fried rice! However, this place is a hole in the wall and their service is horrendous! Additionally, the surrounding neighborhood is very sketchy! I would just order delivery and stay out of this place unless you like eating at a pub!

Typical West Indian restaurant atmosphere, where it is a tad bit too dark indoors. I have gotten food here several times and I was never impressed with the customer service until this last visit. The lady who took and processed my order was very polite and even addressed me as, «Sir.» Nice touch! I have never sat down to eat here so I can’t rate them for their in house service. I will say that the Chicken Fried Rice is very good coupled with good taste and generous portions. It is a winner. 3 stars is fair I think but that server who took my order gets a 5 star. That is the way to get customers to return and spread the good word. It doesn’t matter if someone is ordering 10.00 or 100.00 dollars worth of food. Treat all customers well and business will flourish!

The cha chi kai chicken and the pepper shrimp is off the hook good, they just have to work on customer service and taking orders over the phone the girls can be kinda rude if you decide to go into the restaurant its like walking into a sausage fest all men only and likeb 5 waitress there and u feel like a tight sardine in this lil restaurant ur better off having your food delivered

You know a place is horrible, when the waitress tells you the food here isn’t good at all.

I’ve had only take-out from New Thriving and I found the quality of food to be inconsistent. One Sunday afternoon I ordered three fried dishes — Two Fish and a Calamari — and the oil used was so heavy it was all I could have tasted. The batter on the calamari was very thick requiring me to squeeze the oil out of every piece until I gave up and threw it away. I may try them again but I’m in no rush.

Guyanese style Chinese food; Need I say more??? YUM! Took my mom here for her birthday this month. The food was delicious, portions were huge. There was 6 in our party and the meal was around $ 60. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very helpful, friendly and informative. We questioned her to death about the wall paper which was a collage of landmarks in Guyana. We ordered the roast duck, jerk chicken and fried rice, chicken and pork chow mein, and chicken and pork fried rice. As an appetizer we had the black pudding. It was made with LAMB. Did one if your eyebrows go up??? Well 6 eyebrows went up at our table. We were all familiar with it being made with either pork or beef. DELICIOUS!!! Cant wait to go back again to try something else. Almost forgot, we all ate well and still had food to take home and feed 4!

Guyanese Chinese food, you can’t get any better than that. I usually always get the pepper shrimp fried rice, it’s simply amazing. I do really like the jerk chicken and pork. My sister can’t live without the shrimp rolls. I’ve never eaten in, but delivery is always prompt and the food is always fresh and piping hot.
