Excellent vegetarian food, freshly prepared, extremely reasonably priced. Typical rustic Punjabi fare, with the spiciness made to order. The fresh cold buttermilk on the house as accompaniment is most welcome and rare to find in the US. The Chole Bhatura at $ 5.00 is fantastic, and the thali is a steal at $ 7.00.

Love this place! This place literally is heaven. I have white friends and we come here twice a month. The food isn’t like any other ordinary restaurant, it’s like home food; which is good because less oil and not much heavy. Their sweets are amazing just like barfis in India. Love the free lassi they give, so simple and tasty. And it’s not expensive What sucks is finding parking there, overall this place is worth it. Love it def need to go back.

The most generic name and nondescript interiors may deceive you but do not let it’s lack of décor ever get in the way of you judging the place. The menu is simple but has the power to transport you to Amritsar in Punjab itself! Choose wisely you are about to be teleported. Food takes time to get to your table but that’s because it’s almost made from scratch… fit for an epicure. In the mean time enjoy the unlimited Chaas(light buttermilk) that will whet your aperture for what’s about to come. The Samosa Chaat with the light use of imli chutney(sweetened tamarind sauce) cuts through the crisp samosa, the chole(garbanzo beans) with the right masala adds flavor and texture. The parathas are served with a generous bowl of dahi(yoghurt) and a bit of pickle. The Paneer bhurji was so fresh it was like the paneer had formed just an hour ago, it crumbles in your mouth releasing the subtle turmeric based flavor that’s seeped in just moments ago on the kadai(wok). If I had appetite for more I would keep eating but alas such places make us envey the cows and camels with their multiple stomachs. I seek foods from many lands with a special love for Indian food. I’d would like to say I can tell the difference between a good Punjabi place and a great one… this one is great.

Great for Punjabi vegetarian dishes. I usually stroll over when I wake up late, but it’s too early for lunch. The food is satisfying and flavorful. The language barrier is a con.

Been here three times usually on my way to JFK or back. Best punjabi food Ive had. Love the free lassi we get to begin with. Aloo paratha and muli parathas I tried were perfect. Baingan Bhartha, Alo mutter were awesome too. Yet to try any rice items or sweets.

Had their food at a function. I then ordered just Gajjar Halwa for my function as the rest of the food was being catered by someone else(Had already placed my order before I ate their food). Everyone just loved their Halwa. Next time I will order everything from them.

Food is very good except the way they throw menus at you which is very rude!!!
