We decided to order takeout from here and it was a terrible mistake. They promised the food would be delivered«in 30 minutes.» I called back after 50 minutes inquiring about the status of our deliver and was told«just a few more minutes.» The food was not delivered until 1.5 hours later. I tried, multiple times to cancel the order but the lady refused and by that point I didn’t trust her to refund me my money. The food was cold and not delicious, I don’t think it would have been delicious even if it was hot. The butter naan was without any flavor. The customer service overall was terrible and the whole experience not enjoyable or worthwhile. I wish I picked a different place.

I’ve first came to this small albeit friendly and neighborhood restaurant in 2009 after Holi celebration which happens in RIchmond Hill every year, though they call it Paghwah. It is a coincidence that I ended up here again with a friend for a catch up dinner as we both craved Indian the night before Pagwah parade. The service is very friendly and attentive, which I can’t always say about Indian restaurants after they have convinced you to come in. But that’s only in Mahhattan now that I think of it. I have always had really good service in Indian restaurants in Queens. Food takes a bit to come out and the naan was burnt a bit. But over all a pleasant experience, the place is clean and cute and full with locals. I almost felt like I traveled across the sea to the land of Majarastas. It was quite loud but we made due. Also one minus is that you have to order your rice if you want it, it doesn’t come with the meal. Bottom line, good food for a great price in a clean and friendly environment. I’m ok with that.

Someone recommended this place for a date; do not go here on a date. The place is just dumpy in appearance. If you go in the winter, be prepared to keep your coat on the entire time; it’s that cold. This is my fault though; it’s location and lack of a liquor license should have tipped me off. So I suppose if you go, be sure to hit up the liquor store across the street … it’s one of the ones where you have to get buzzed in to enter. I’m still giving it 5 stars because the food and service is excellent. It’s also really inexpensive. The taste of each dish is authentic to the region(I really have no idea what I’m talking about here but it takes like food from a place that I’ve never been and that’s authentic by my standards). If you want to bullshit some guy or an entire dinner party into thinking you’ve mastered your Indian(or wherever) culinary skills, you should pick up food and serve it. The taste and the cost will be worth it.
