I normally don’t like this cuisine but I liked Alido’s. Went with a friend so that might have helped. Went again yesterday and they were closed! Closed for another week at least so call before you go.

My husband and I LOVE coming here to eat! Good homemade Filipino food from a mom and pop style restaurant– doesn’t get any better!

I would’ve rated this place 4 stars because the food was delicious and the service was friendly. Minus 1 star for the state of restaurant, it was not well kept(being nice here), the bathroom was flooding and I don’t know if they cared too much about how the place looked.

I live around the corner and have now been to this comfort-food serving Filipino joint twice. Disclaimer: I’m a white dude, but I am married into a Filipino family. I know a good Sinigang when I taste one, and this one’s good. For those who aren’t privy, Sinigang is a salty, vinegary, delicious soup. Tip: It’s great when spooned over some garlic rice too! They use NOMSG :) This is great because often Filipino food gives me a cracking headache. But not from this place. I actually feel safe eating their sisig. For those who want Crack-Sisig with loads of MSG, you’ll have to go elsewhere. The Tocino(a sweet red pork) here is delicious too. It goes really well with the Suka(a vinegar side sauce) and rice. Overall, this is a great family-run place. Come in twice, and they’ll remember your name. You really feel appreciated. If you’re from out of town, be sure to check out this place! If anything could be improved, it’s probably the indoor ambiance. It’s clean; just pretty standard. But I really don’t mind because the food and people are so great. I’ll be going back!

They ran out of a bunch of ingredients, and everything was super greasy. I know Filipino cuisine is generally on the greasy side, but«oily» seemed to be the predominant flavor at this place.

Someone brought Alido’s chicken adobo to a party and I was sold. Went back for more twice. Totally legit. Heard they’re from Pampanga, where the good cooks come from. Will pay a proper visit soon…

Tried this place for the first time looking for something to eat in the area and found this place thanks to Unilocal. The owners were nice and friendly, made some good recommendations. They give you tasty bowls of sinigang broth. They have one or two item plates plus a la carte items. The food came out fast and was so fresh. I had the adobong pusit and it was the best I’ve ever had. Side of garlic rice was a huge portion and I ended up eating everything because it was so good. So glad I found this hidden gem that I can add to my list of go to places for Filipino food. Seems like they also do party trays. Will have to try some dessert next time!

This was one of my favorite places to get Filipino food for my pregnancy cravings. It is a small restaurant and the wait is a bit long, but the food is so homey, comfy, and delicious that it’s worth the wait. Some of my favorite things to eat are the turon,(but the only bummer is that it’s not always available), pork tocino, pork chops, lechon kawali(eat this! It’s sooo crispy and fatty I want some right now), pancit with both noodles, and lumpia Shanghai. Ok well I guess you can see I like to eat pork. The owners(I think) are very friendly and the couple times I’ve eaten inside with my family, their service was awesome.

My husband and I really loved the food here. We were just driving by and noticed it said Filipino food we went around the block and decided to give it a try. No regrets at all, I would come back here for sure and would recommend to anyone. I ordered the Pork adobo with garlic rice and my husband ordered Sigsig pork and it was amazing.

Another fine group lunch. Thanks for being able to take out orders over the phone and have the food waiting for our arrival. We had a group of seven people and each of if had had different orders. Alidos made this adventure easy and painless. Two car loads of people where in and out, full, happy and still can take our time back to work. Food was perfect made to order, and the owner asked, how is everything, can I get you anything else? Delicious food and great company. What more? Alidos also serves Peets coffee!

This place is now apart of my Fav Five Filipino Restaurants! Had passed by this place enough times on my way to Tanforan and finally had some time to go inside today. Let me tell you that this place knows how to make great meals. I would suggest parking in the lot facing 7 eleven so that you can walk on over because the parking in front can be dangerous especially when traffic is busy. When you walk inside you seem the seating which is limited and the bar area. There is a counter that has the menu and you can order to go or for take out. I wanted to eat in but I had things to do. The specials are good because you can do a two item combo. I wanted to get the Chicken Afritada but they had run out, that was sad! But, I did get the pork menudo to go along with my adobo, wise choice! All together it was still under $ 10 bucks and I didn’t have to pay additional for rice! Apparently some places now charge if you want RICE with your food, REALLYTHOUGH!!! After placing my order I waited and took in more of the scenery here. Just a real nice cozy place. There is nothing over the top in decoration but it has a welcoming vibe to it. There are some nice pieces of art on the wall which are eye catching and they also have some TVs here as well. After waiting for 5 to 10 minutes or so my food was ready and it smelled GREAT! Once at home I opened the container and my eyes watered with JOY! The food looked as good as it smelled! For off, the container was microwaveable safe which is just AWESOME. That makes reheating a lot easier, THANKYOU! The menudo and the adobo were both emitting some good flavor and tickling my nose, that was cool! The taste was just UNBELIEVABLE! This is by far the closest I have gotten to anything being close to homemade. Just right on in all aspect of preparation, presentation, and taste. Phenomenal meal and every bite was PERFECT! My only criticism would be for more rice but the portion that gave was just fine. I will be back for the Afritada because I am sure it will be AMAZING! Great experience, good service, and stellar FOOD! This place knows exactly what they are doing. Keep it cooking up in here! #salamat_po #sarap

Very good home made tapa and Tocino. The owners are very nice and I would go here again. They also have arroz cubana, something that my grandmother has made me since I was young.

I have not ordered any of there core plates yet but I will have to come back and sample some of there other plates I did a simple silog plate, longanisa plate, with garlic rice, egg, and extra 3 longanisa’s, the plate was decent in size, rice was more then enough, only 1 fried egg but it was a larger egg, and the longanisa’s were split down the middle, some places when ordering these silog plate don’t give you much to go on, if not the meat is rehydrated, this place, food was good, tasted like the freshly cooked the longanisa, it was not dry nor rehydrated, the meat was actually juicy and tender. Again I will have to come back and sample other items they have on there menu if you can make a silog plate that good, interested on what else they can make. Food **** for their longanisa plate price $$ service **** helpful staff ambiance **** clean, no over powering smells like some other filipino restaurants have, small homey feeling

From the fresh and tasty pork shanghai lumpia, to the fresh-out-the-pan Miki Bihon… I was hooked. My friend got the Tapsilog which had so much flavor!(Of course I stole a bite!) This was a great break from washing clothes around the corner. I was so happy to find some Miki Bihon and just good old Filipino food. Can’t wait to go back!

Great food but… We looked for this place to have a late lunch while coming from San Mateo. We were impressed by its 4−½ stars rating. It was around 2:00p when we arrived here so naturally we didn’t expect a crowd and sure enough it was just us and another customer that were present. Took a look at the menu and wanted some of their ‘silog’. I was to have ToSiLog and my hubby wanted palabok… guess what? they didn’t have either one! They ran out or something… whatever. So we quickly had to choose something else. I had the LongSiLog and hubby had the TapSiLog. Glad they didn’t run out of longanisa and tapa and we were able to enjoy them. Since there were no other customers but us and another gentleman, the owner just asked us across the room what we were going to have and so we had to say our order back to him who was behind the counter. Nope, didn’t bother coming anywhere near our table at all. Although the food was great and scarfed it down when it came, I was turned off by dirty dishes on the other tables and on the counter. It’s like no busser or attendant cleared the tables and they were just left piled there. Food took awhile to come(and we were the only diners there at the time). The people working there, we assume, were the owners themselves… they were nice, though. Just bummed that we didn’t get what we originally ordered. They offered daily specials on their menu but they seemed to be all pork. Yummy but not good if you’re trying to cut down on cholesterol and saturated fat.

I really like asian food. So when I saw this place was open I decided to try it. The adobo wasn’t being served at first so I waited, but it’s worth it. I had the pork adobo. It had good flavor and wasn’t dry. My friend had chicken adobo and said it was good to. It was served with rice and a pork sauce. Isn’t open on Mondays, bummer. But is good quality food for a cheap price.

One of the best Filipino food restaurants. We stumbled upon this place by accident, but couldn’t be happier with the service and quality. The owners are very friendly and kept making sure we got everything we needed. The food is amazing! The pork silog, chicken adobo, and sisig were our favorites! We also ordered the beef in tomato stew(forgot the name of it). But it was all very satisfying! Would definitely recommend it to others :)

Filipino Gem in South San Francisco! My bf and I were craving for some filipino food and decided to come here instead of going to overpriced Max’s and Goldilocks. Mind you, we are very picky when it comes to filipino restaurants. Im one of those people that gets turned off EASILY when it comes to food. Here are my thoughts on Alido’s: Place is very clean. Staff– Very attentive and friendly Food– Ordered adobo and pork sinigang. It took a while but it’s definitely worth the wait. They give you good portions of food and it’s great price. For delicious reasonably priced food with free parking, come to Alido’s!

This review is based off of my experience at the Callan blvd. location, but since that location closed… I’ll transfer the review over to here. I’ve never actually been inside the El Camino location, so I can’t say much about the restaurant itself or parking and such… but my dad always gets food to go from this location, so I can speak for that. Hands down Alido’s is my favorite filipino restaurant in the area. I have a couple other favorites, but Alido’s is the only place where each time I have food from there, I feel like I’m eating a genuine home cooked meal. I love their torta and their pork chops above all, and their pancit canton is amazing. The people who worked at the Callan location also work here, so I can say with certainty that the service is amazing. I’m am a huge fan of Alido’s and will definitely continue to eat here for many many years. I have had multiple events at the Callan location not only because the space was convenient but because I know that the food will not disappoint. I higly recommend this place to all my friends!

I literally grew up at this place… When I was young, my family literally drove here from San Jose almost every weekend to eat here. As a filipino, it is really hard for me to find a filipino cuisine place that satisfies me but this place really does have a special place in my heart. The parking for this place can get a little tricky and the place doesn’t look appealing but the food is SOGOOD. Filipino dishes for me are all about the«Timpla» or mix/sauce. There is something about their sauces and mixture of flavors in the dishes that are just perfect. They rival any cooking from a filipino mom or grandma(maybe not the sentimental value but the taste would give any filipino cuisine a run for its money) There was an old couple that used to work here and the food was a whole lot better. One day when I went there during my break from college they had recognized me from when I was a little girl that came here. Now that they are retired the food isn’t exactly the same but this place still gets a 5 for all the memories I have of it. If you aren’t familiar with Filipino Cuisine I would recommend a couple dishes… — Sinigang: a sweet/sour soup that is great with pork on top of some rice, amazing for a rainy/typical San Francisco weather day — Bistek: a blend of flavors give the beef a little something, here they make it just right with an amazing melt in your mouth texture — Kaldereta: a beef spicy stew, my personal favorite Did I mention the price is CHEAP and they give you a good portion of food? :)
