I took my two kids to their first eye appointment. The staff and doctor were very friendly. I would definitely recommend them.

Eyewear Envy Optometry is the best. Tucked away in a tiny shopping mall in SSF. Doctor Katherine Manalo and her staff are friendly, professional and very helpful in picking out the perfect frames for you. The showroom is modern and spotless. They have a good selection of frames for everyone. Lots of classic, stylish and fashion forward looks. Another reason Eyewear Envy is special is they have a very good selection of frames specifically made for the Asian face. Love, love my new«Brody» progressive glasses and get many compliments. Thank you Eyewear Envy!

I’m the guy who is clueless about glasses since I’ve never had to wear them. But my son inherited my wife’s genes and is blind as a bat. My wife is Asian so the right fit has been hard to find. Thank you Eyewear Envy for your help! The glasses they fitted work perfectly and have held up — even for a 6 year old. I don’t normally write reviews, but they were super helpful so felt it was worthy of a mention!

I live in Boston, but have been buying my glasses exclusively from Eyewear Envy for the past few years. I am blessed/cursed with a nose bridge that will not hold regular glasses and Eyewear Envy has an amazing range for glasses for people like me. The customer service and quality of work is amazing. I’m looking forward to buying my next pair here!

This place is amazing! Back story: I’ve never been able to wear most cool glasses because I have a very narrow nose bridge and most non-metal frames sit way too close to my eyes, causing my eyelashes to smush against my lenses. Not a good look, and it’s uncomfortable, too. I found Eyewear Envy online when I was researching frame styles that would actually work for me, and I was so excited when I saw that they were located in South San Francisco. South City is kind of far from where we live now(West Sonoma County, though I grew up on the Peninsula), but at least it was within driving distance. I was willing to make the drive for the possibility of having many eyewear choices, as I wear my glasses almost all the time, and I’d had my current pair for over 3 years. So one morning, I dropped off our 2 eldest kiddos at their elementary school, the 4 year at her preschool, and drove with our youngest to the East Bay, where I dropped her off at my mom’s. I then made the drive out to my old stomping grounds, the Peninsula, to Eyewear Envy. SO glad I did! This was literally the first time in my life that I was able to try on frame after frame and nearly all fit me well, with no eyelashes-touching-the-lenses issues. The first time that I actually had a hard time choosing which glasses to get, because so many looked great.(The selection at this store is top-notch, by the way.) Dr. Manalo was amazing. Really nice, and extremely helpful and patient. She has great taste, too! So many of the frames she pulled for me looked beautiful on, and fit my face well. In the end, it was between 2 frames. I was getting a pair of sunglasses, too, so I knew I couldn’t get *3* pairs, but it was so hard to decide! I finally chose a pair of TC Chartons in an unusual tortoise shell pattern, along with a pair of over-sized Coach sunglasses. I got them in the mail a couple of days ago(couldn’t make the drive out again to pick them up) and they look stunning on me. SO incredibly happy with my purchase. This is my go-to optometry store from now on — even with the 2 hour drive! It’s completely worth it.

As a myopic, Asian woman, shopping for eyewear has been a challenge my entire life; eyeglass frames are designed to fit European heads — this is just physiological fact. Last month, I went into an optical shop and, after picking out the only two frames that didn’t sit on my cheeks, I was informed by the optician that neither of them fit my face. Of course, she could offer me no other frame options. Enter Eyewear Envy in South San Francisco(and online) which specializes in «Asian Fit» eyeglass frames: It was absolutely refreshing to have choices! I found a dozen that felt great on and I actually was having a difficult time choosing just one pair. Dr. Kathy Manalo pointed out a pair of TC Charton frames that were perfect — she rocks! I just picked up my new sunglasses today — sunglasses that do not sit on my cheeks, sit too low, or roll off of my non-existent nose bridge — and I LOVELOVELOVE them! If you are hard to fit like me, check out the eyewear collection at EYEWEARENVY!

What a great place! My boyfriend and I came here to get our annual eye exams and purchase new glasses. The exams for glasses and contacts were very thorough and each test was explained. Dr. Manalo offered great advice and information on eye care — very friendly and easy to talk to! Dr. Manalo and the staff were so helpful with which frames looked good and answered any questions we had. I ordered a pair of Coach glasses and got them within a week. Definitely go to this place for a great variety of frames as well as great customer service!

This place just opened and I stopped in for an eye exam since it’s in the neighborhood and I’m way over due. The receptionist welcomed me immediately and I was in the exam chair within 5 minutes. The optometrist was really thorough and helpful. After the exam I went to pick out some frames. They had a really big selection and good brands, I ordered a pair of Emporio Armani and got a bair of sunglasses for $ 20 which was part of a grand opening promotion. This is definitely my new optometrist!
