My husband found some of their meat sticks at a convenient store in Maplewood and they are always sold out, so we took it to the internet and thankfully found that there is a little retail store. Store is way down on Concord in South St. Paul, but worth the trek. Some of the best meat sticks around and a great price. Ended up buying two big packs of garlic meat sticks, some old fashioned hot dogs and polish sausage. Once you have meat from a market all the others are just blah. Great selection of fresh meat, frozen and they sell Heggies pizza too. Will definitely be back for more of the garlic meat sticks.

There are very few real meat markets left. Husnik’s does their best to put quality food on your table. Wild game processing available. I shop here for the inexpensive chicken leg quarters. Just 59 cents a pound.

OK, my wife keeps beating me to the punch on the posts but she found Unilocal, so what the heck. I want to give the back story on this Husnik Meat Co. inc. This place was a lesson to me. I went in here the first time just to check it out, bought two bacon wrapped tenderloins and did my best to engage the butcher in conversation. This guy was a wall. His attitude sucked so hard that I drove away thinking that I would never go back again. I’ve met junk yard dogs that had more of an inviting nature. Well the tenderloins were fantastic and for 4 $ a piece they were fabulous. We then bought meat at Cub and Rainbow and every time the meat failed the taste test, regardless of how it was prepared. So against my own better judgement I went back there. This time with a huge chip on my shoulder ready to do battle with with jerk with no customer service skills. I walk in and the same guy is friendly as could be expected and I walked out confused with my fabulous steaks. Long story short. I continue to frequent this place for Brats, grade A tip roast, and my tenderloins. The lesson here was, always give a place with good product two tries, regardless of the service. You never know what was up with person serving you. I have tried a couple other butchers in the area since that time and none compare to this place for a great deal and quality product. From what I can see you get prime butcher quality product at a Cub foods price-tag.

When you want to get your meat on this is a great little butcher shop. We have been getting steaks and brats here for about a year now and they are so good! They have a great variety in brats — My faves are the apple and the garlic. I am trying the rice brats tonight which I am sure will be excellent as well. How could they not be? Another favorite is their bacon wrapped tenderloins. We buy them in a two pack and they broil up juicy and so flavorful! I always put 57 on my steaks and these are the first steaks I have been able to eat without it if I choose. They are heavenly! And we got a wonderful roast here last winter as well. Almost makes me wish it were roast weather just thinking about it. Soon. Soon. I have to say I am pretty spoiled now and zip down to their shop(only about 2 miles off 494 right off Concord) for most of my meat needs. As for their prices? I am constantly shocked at how cheap I can get meat from them. I mean seriously — $ 5.00 for Johnsonville Brats that are who knows how old or $ 3.00 for garlic brats from the butcher? These guys win every time.
