Jim was friendly, helpful and very patient when the homeowners delayed the process. The inspection was easy and Jim explained everything that he was doing and made some great suggestions for areas that need attention.

Worth every penny. Greg did a very thorough inspection and left no stone unturned. Since I’m a first-time homeowner, he even showed me how to maintain the hot water heater and HVAC system, gave me a tutorial on the electric box and fuses, and gave tips about landscaping around the house.

I had my home inspection today. I was very impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness of Pillar to Post. Mark Jones was excellent and I plan to call the company to tell the owner of my happiness with the inspection.

What a terrible company to do business with! They completely botched my home inspection and made one excuse after another on why they were not responsible for finding the problems. Not only did I pay these guys for bad advice but the former home owner is using their report to defend themselves in court! Even things I asked them to look at they screwed up and told me they were okay. Now I am out of thousands of dollars for items that the former home owner could have paid for! I asked the company for my money back and they refused to acknowledge that they screwed up. They kept pushing me back on the inspector who kept making excuses. The inspector even went on to say that the report he printed for me at the time of the inspection was not the real report that I should have used and that he emailed me another version. When I compared the two reports they were the same. At that point he said he didn’t know what happened and that he would get back to me. He never got back to me and all I got was an email from Greg(the owner) explaining that they were not responsible and he sent me a long disclosure. He never once attempted to call me. How does an inspector say something like that to a customer and then the owner steps in and defends it without even talking to the customer?

If you don’t have the time to read the whole story, just remember«to stay away» from this office of the Pillar and Post. Everything shared by Mark seems to be a reenactment. I bought a townhouse close to 40 years old in May of 2013, and Randy(not Greg) conducted the home inspection. I had told my realtor that I did not care how many years experience the home inspetor or how big name he had, I wanted someone thorough. Somehow, of the 2 offices she contacted, Randy was available and came, so was the beginning of the horrible experience. We closed the house shortly after the inspection, and started the renovation. Randy told us that the kitchen door was water-damaged which needed to be replaced, but little did we know what caused the water damage. Actually the whole wall was rotten inside because of water brought down from the upper deck which was improperly secured to the wall. Luckily, Condo was responsible for the cost of ripping out the whole wall, re-stuccoing it and rebuilding the deck. Otherwise It would easily put us $ 4K to $ 5K in red. Apparently, Randy did not ask the question(or did not bother to think) where the water was coming and why the door was rotten in the first place. Pictures uploaded. Then came the heavy rain in the beginning of the June, and the corner of the basement was flooded. It was not a simple case, since this is where the oil tank was and I had asked him to make sure that the oil tank was OK during the inspection… To be continued.
