The Southampton store is relatively new(2 yrs or so) — before that Vineyard Vines sold it’s cool ties, belts, hats, boxers, bags in other retail outlets. I first saw them in a 2 shops in Cold Spring Harbor back in or around 99 – 2002. People are either fans of the colors and images or they are not. but most can’t help but like the fun prints on a tie. George Bush and John Kerry have worn them and they made a tie with an O for Barack Obama. The best time to buy them is in Spring, to kick of your favorite recipients new wardrobe additions in spring/summer. They make great gifts… I admit I don’t wear them. LOL! but I love those pink boxers with whales or ties with mermaids! how can you pass them up. As a mother they are always in the easter basket! What happens to them. I have no idea. LOL The Southampton Store carries a full line of mens and womens clothes along with their usual accessories etc. and they all have that certain look of Vineyard Vines somehow! lol.

I must admit that I am a Vineyard Vines junkie. From the whale magnet on my car to the ties I wear to the office down to the flip flops I rock year round, Vineyard Vines is my guilty fashion pleasure. Keep in mind that this review is for the physical store itself and not the brand. I have been to a number of different VV locations throughout the country and the Southampton location is, well, OK. The selection is fair and the store is a decent size but the service has never«wowed» me. Sure, the staff has been nice but nothing to write home about. I was in a few times this summer and sadly there was no air conditioner. It wasn’t anything I couldn’t deal with but it did cut my visit short which ultimately means lost revenue for the store. Mostly I felt for the staff who was stuck in that space with no AC and very little ventilation all day. I’ll be back to the Southampton VV’s as it is one of the closer locations to my home. I look forward to their new location at Americana Manhasset in the near future.
