Hampton Inn – Memphis Southaven

Older building, by the room I stayed in was updated. For me it’s always roulette with the bed, this one was clean and soft. How I prefer it. Updated furniture, but wall lights needed some updating. Fairly quite as well.
Very tricky to find the entrance, wish that there was a better way to see/​find it. GPS will make you route an odd way that’s not needed if you find it.

Normal Hampton but slightly below average since they haven’t updated everything. The main reason for only 2 stars is noisy guests. I know you can have that any where but they just didn’t seem to care. In fact my room was next to the pool and they were playing loud music until well after pool hours and screaming two nights in a row. I made a complaint the second night. The third night management let them stay out there an extra hour! Are you kidding me! What about the guests that have to be up early?!

Great staff, very welcoming and accommodating. This is an older hotel that’s been renovated. It is quite clean but the carpet in my room was worn. I like the location, right off the highway and within walking distance to several restaurants. The traffic on the road near the hotel can be frustrating but the area seems pretty safe.

This Hampton Inn maintains the standards of the brand, maintaining moderate comforts, clean quarters, and a polite staff with basic amenities. The front-​desk clerk that checked me in was very cordial, and took care to ensure my loyalty information was correct, and informing me about some great places to eat in the area that I was already aware of from friends.
The room was comfortably sized, the bed very comfortable (in fact a bit easier to sleep on than a Hilton I was recently in) with clean linens. The bathroom was clean, spacious, without any negative items to note and good water pressure in the shower.
Breakfast was the standard rotating selections of Hampton Inn hot breakfast fare, canned fruits, some pastries and cereals, with a selection of coffees. On some evenings, snacks were out (my favorite being the popcorn that made one appearance for the week… though I was hoping for a second).
The location is also convenient to many restaurants, shopping areas, and highway access. Being so close to the highway, there is some minor noise transmission to rooms closer to the highway, but nothing I couldn’t easily dismiss.

Hampton inn is pretty consistent. This hotel does not appear to be one of the upgradedHampton Inn locations. There are lots of good restaurants nearby– the workout room only has 3 cardio machines (bike, elliptical & treadmill). The treadmill was in good working condition (unlike many other Hampton Inns). The water cooler was not operational, so bring a water bottle. It was also uncomfortably hot and had inadequate ventilation. The breakfast was standard Hampton fare… Service was good.

Beds are very uncomfortable and not up to hilton standards. Pillows are worst I’ve ever slept on. Found it more comfortable to just not use them at all. Only reason I give it two stars is front desk is very nice. Other than that– terrible nights sleep.

This is a decent hotel. Very clean nice staff. Rooms have been maintained & cleaned well. They serve breakfast as well… They have laundry facility on site for $ 1.50 each load.
Hotel served it’s purpose
