Sam’s Southern Eatery

My husband and I are traveling and stopped for dinner with no idea what type of restaurant it was. Its small and cute with counter service. They cook to order and deliver when it’s ready. They have po’boys of all kinds, as well as platters or dinners. We had an oyster po’boy and a jumbo shrimp po’boy. Each sandwich came with a side and we each ordered a drink. The bill was about 20. The portions were massive! The shrimp were so large that it only had 4 on it and it was more than enough for a subway size fresh roll. The oysters were overflowing on the other sandwich. We had fries and okra for side items that were fresh and delicious. A table next to us had gotten a platter of fish (5 pieces), chicken (3 full breasts), and shrimp (6 jumbo). This was served with hush puppies and fries. He said it was amazing! He was a large man and needed a to go box! I would highly recommend this place. The food was well worth the money and the staff were all courteous, friendly, and quick to smile. We will be stopping again on our way home!

Good food, large plates for the price; just opened yesterday. One strike is that the catfish is not real catfish.
