Easily the best place in CT for a sandwich. I’ve lived all across the state and every time I find myself in the area I have to stop and get a sub. The ingredients are always fresh, the menu is impressive, the service is attentive and professional, and I’ve never been disappointed. Truly miss the days when I worked down the street from this place. You won’t find a better sub. The buffalo chicken sandwich is my go-to. Awesome drink selection too.

Not from Southbury… So I checked Unilocal to find out a good spot for a sandwich. Saw nardellis and decided that to take a shot on Mikee’s. I’m glad I did! Great sandwich good prices and I will definitely swing back in when I’m back in town

Flew into KOXC and picked up lunch there. Very good Italian sub. Peppered ham, L, T, and brown mustard. I like it when sandwich shops don’t ask you what brown mustard is, or worse squirt yellow mustard on it. It’s not a hot dog people! Really good roll too. It’s a small shop with a staff of three focused individuals. No need to over crowd a small sangwich counter with personel bouncing off each other. Also picked up a cheese sub for the boss. –think Freddy got fingered. Yum. Keep up the good work mikees.

Wow, this deli has gone down hill Fast! I ordered a #7 Reg, which is a turkey grinder. When I opened up the grinder it was so sloppy. I separated the bread to «fix» the grinder and I found bacon pieces in it! Im sorry I don’t like or eat bacon. It just further confirms they’re messy. Disgusting! The time before this I ordered the philly, it looks as though they just laid the 3 pieces of meat in a pan and left it to cook. It wasn’t «shredded» or anything. It was very very oily too. I used to order from here all the time when I worked at Primary Care. Unfortunately, I will not be ordering from here again. I hope this helps the restaurant understand that they’re pushing their loyal customers away.

This is a very cute small locally run sandwich shop. A good place to go for a quick sandwich at lunch time. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The food was good, and came fairly quickly. Not a bad place to stop in when you don’t have much time for a sit down meal. The place could use some updating though.

Very pleasant small deli. Bread was fresh as were veggies. Sliced fresh pastrami was tasty.

This independently owned sandwich shop along the main drag in Southbury is a good option for a casual meal. I was impressed by the friendly staff and their efficiency in preparing our subs. While they have your typical cold cuts, it was also great to see some different Italian specialty meats. Their veggies and the bread were quite fresh and of a good quality. As for a downside, the amount of meat on the sandwiches was fairly small. The medium sized sandwiches that cost $ 7 before tax were not very filling. For those who are light eaters though, their sandwiches very well may fill you up. Regardless, they are certainly worth checking out.

best deli around! Very friendly staff and they have an awesome 2 for Tuesday deal between 11 – 2 every Tuesday! Everything is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend. Nardellis and subway cannot compare. They also do catering!

Mikee’s is our only go to sub shop in the area. It’s way better than Nardelli’s. Their bread is always fresh and the cold cut sandwiches are delicious. I even asked my husband to bring me a Mikee’s sandwich as my first meal(can’t eat deli meat while pregnant) after the delivery of our son!

Mikee’s makes the best subs around. My husband and I live in NH we travel a lot and always plan our travels so we have lunch at Mikee’s. Always worth the drive and friendly faces. A must for anyone traveling through Southbury! Better than Nardelli’s.

With the meat and cheese sliced right before your eyes and an awesome selection of combinations, Mikee’s Place is the ultimate place to get a grinder. I get a regular #11, keeping it simple with ham and(American) cheese, but they are even able to make a sandwich as simple as that taste GREAT! The Tuesday lunch deal is great and I try to make it whenever I can. The hot grinders are great too, I usually go for the cheeseburger sub with a side of cheese fries. Yum! And although the prices may seem a little high, you realize just how worth it the grinder is when you take that first bite into the delicious chewy on the outside, soft on the inside grinder roll. It’s atmosphere may not be impressive but it fits the casual food that is served. The staff are always friendly and attentive. If you’re in Southbury and looking for a place for a quick meal, Mikee’s is definitely an awesome choice.

I’m a big fan of Mikee’s and I even like it better than it’s competitor, Nardelli’s. The biggest con is that they do not offer many vegetables to put on your sandwich but other than that, their subs hit the spot and they are very satisfying. The bread is always fresh and flavorful. The staff are very friendly and take their time preparing your order.

I went to Mikees on Saturday, 12÷21÷13, for lunch with my wife. They have hot and cold subs, and wraps. I had the chicken philly(see pic) with peppers and onions and my wife had the same. We shared some salt and pepper potato chips and a 22 oz. soda. The sub roll was the best, fresh, soft and perfect for a sub. The sub was tasty but had way too much mayonnaise. It was actually squirting out of my sub and I had to wipe it away with numerous napkins. I also really didn’t consider this sub a chicken philly because they didn’t use shredded chicken. It was basically a grilled chicken breast with peppers and onions. The floor and the tables in the store needed to be kept up better. They were still messy from previous customers and we had to wipe it off ourselves. We also noticed that the bottle recycling box was kept next to the napkin dispenser. I have taken and enjoyed subs to go from Mikees but never have eaten one there. I was a little disappointed with this visit but I would probably go back and get a different sub and ask them to go light on the mayo.

I give 5STARS. This place is really a six star rated venue!!! Those rating the Sandwich Shop and mentioning«Subway» as a comparison are completely off base(Subway is a 2⁄5 tops). It’s kinda like mentioning Ferrari and Yugo together because they both have four wheels, motor, doors and glass. This sandwich shop has had the same excellent quality — meats, cheese, bread, service — for years. It is HANDSDOWN the best Sandwich Shoppe in NY/NJ/CT I have come across. It would be great as a chain, but I this place feels like it gets ingredients from a ‘local’ source. The seating is convenient, but no white tablecloths!!! I occasionally take the trip up there from NYC, and White Plains for a nice drive and OUTSTANDING Sandwich. If you have a strong appetite, are in the mood for a hearty coldcut or even wedge sandwich then this is a place to throw on your stomach’s bucket list… Head out early and enjoy the scenery in CT — get to Mikee’s Place!

This place is insanely good. I wait all year(from Hawaii) to visit relatives in Connecticut and this is my first stop when we get to Southbury. Giant #22(Buffalowich) is so good. I wish they opened a place on the Big Island. Heading back in 3 weeks, cant wait!

Best place in Southbury to get a deli style grinder. They slice the meat right in front of you, not much toppings selection as far as veggies(L, T, O and roasted red peppers if you ask for them) but the meat, cheese, bread and dressing has such good flavor that it’s better to keep the toppings simple anyway. My favorite is the«Brandon Burger» which is a tex-mex flavor black bean veggie burger and the BEST veggie burger I’ve had at any restaurant. The ice cream is not great, it’s soft serve with flavor syrup added, but long list of flavors to choose from, a win for the kids.

I have a crazy schedule on Mondays that requires that I grab a quick dinner somewhere in Southbury. This is becoming my standby. Unfortunately I don’t feel I can honestly give it more than three stars. But hear me out for a second. The place is a sandwich shop, pretty much. And you know what? It does a pretty good job of being a sandwich shop. They have a good variety of hot and cold subs and seem happy to personalize to your heart’s content. A bag of chips and some soda(also a nice selection of both) and you’re good. The prices aren’t amazing, but not awful either. The atmosphere isn’t going to win any awards. I can’t vouch for the ice cream, but it’s a nice perk. It’s a sandwich shop. If you’re looking for a sub, you’re going to walk away happy. And it beats going to Subway. So give it a try.

Love visiting here when I’m back in town. The sandwiches are big and meaty. I always come on Two-for-Tuesday, where you can get 2 regular subs for the price of one(with drink purchase) such a great deal. I usually mix it up with a hot and cold. Favorites are the #10(Supreme Club) and the #22(Buffalowich) also can’t go wrong with a Philly Cheesesteak with red sauce(yeah, maybe it’s not an authentic«Philly» one, but it sure is damn good!). This place has solid subs, and that’s why you’ll often see a line going out the door, it’s worth it.
