I purchased a beautiful thank you cars, and a box of Crane cards with my initial L. The owner was very friendly. There were three different groups of people all from northern California in the store that day, the owner was tickled about, and so was I! The stationary section is small, but nice. I like that the Crane company cards are mostly made of recycled materials!

There seem to be lots of stores like this one in downtown Southern Pines: lots of knick-knacks, but if you look closely(or desperately, I’d presume), you can find SOMETHING to buy! I went into this store looking for fine paper: I“m a fool for a nice card, or fancy stationery – I still write letters, after all. The stationery here is in the back of the store – there’s a Crane corner, but the selection was small. The store does a lot of personalizing, of invitations, birth announcements, even tote bags. There were some Kate Spade paper products on their own display. I liked how the owner mixed up merchandise by different themes: color, purpose, etc. Put it this way: I came out of there with a poppy dishrag(it makes me happy!) and a little porcelain plate that has this bird nest-y thing on it. I figure I’ll find somewhere for it. The owner(I think it was her) was attentive, funny, and nice; but then again, everyone here is nicer than my beloved Bostonians! I think I“d bump up the stars if the store lived up the paper part of its name and had a larger selection.
