I was playing golf yesterday and a few employees/friends said this place has some great pizza. So figured I get some for the fam tonite. It was pretty good, but I was expecting more. I was hoping for some crispy crust! The wow factor really! Just didn’t get it here. Too soggy for my taste. I would of gave 4 stars if it wasn’t for that. Best of luck SoPies!

We love SoPies! We live down the street and end up dining in or getting takeout from here about once a week. It’s tasty NY style pizza(large, foldable slices); our favorite is the Deluxe, but we always get a cheese for the kids and they love it, too. I like the atmosphere dining in, they’re always accommodating to us and our crazy crew(5 young kids). You can sit at the bar and watch as they make the pizzas, or choose from a few booths or tables.(There are also a few outdoor tables as well.) We love that they serve Southern Pines Brewing Co on tap. If you’re downtown and just want a snack, they sell pizza by the slice as well.

We have had mixed experiences with SoPies for the past year or so. We had a negative experience over winter months(«lost» order, followed by incorrect order, followed by burned order resulting in over 2 hour delay in getting our pizza) and were very disappointed about their lack of customer service in dealing with the situation. We ordered 2 large pizzas from SoPies this past Sunday evening after returning to town from our son’s wedding weekend. We had house guests with us, including my 88 year old mother, and were all exhausted. I made a large salad to go with our ordered pizzas. 10 minutes after my husband left the house to pick up order order, he received a call from the person who took his initial order informing him that the owner/manager refused to serve him since we complained about our previous bad experience. WOW! Just WOW! The person making this decision did not even have the decency to call himself. Sounds like a great business – you make a mistake, blame the customer, and then refuse to serve the customer. Needless to say, we will never place an order with this establishment again, and will be sure to spread the word about this treatment.

Really not that great, overpriced, taste is just off. benefits from being close to the bars, but don’t order a whole pizza late night as they screw you on prices(30 dollar pizzas) Go down the road to Vito’s for better pizza, or order from Papa if you’ve been to the bars and want to save 20 bucks.

After hiking 2 hours in the Sandhills, 2 house salads and a classic pizza hit the spot. The salads were generous and were made with good lettuce, I think it was chopped romaine and not bagged lettuce. The pizza had a yummy thin crust with just the right amount of cheese and good tomato sauce. I liked how the sauce and ingredients went almost to the outer edge of the pie. I will ding them a star because the salad dressings were not house made, and for those cheap thin napkins. You know the ones where you end up using 18 napkins because they are so small and thin? I hate those!

This place is the shit! I usually come here at OHHHHH like 2am in the morning after a heavy night drinking at Odonnels and the Jeff. Maybe pizza tastes better when your drunk… well actually you’re goddamn right it does! However I did come here the other night sober for the first time and ordered a whole«all the meats» pizza and killed it! I not only proved to myself that I can come here sober but that this place is actually good and not just at 2am! The girls who work there are very nice and friendly and should be given huge raises… that is all.

Wish I could give this place a better review since there aren’t many other(good) options for pizza delivery in the area. A pizza that was supposed to take 45 minutes to deliver on a Wednesday night took an hour and twenty five minutes. When I called to check on the order after an hour and twenty, the girl on the phone never even apologized. When the delivery guy showed up, he was nice but didn’t have a pen for me to sign the receipt so I had to run around the house looking for one. Not the worst thing ever but annoying considering how long we had already waited. And then there was the pizza itself — it was okay. The slices are big but bland. I ate it because I paid for it(and waited for it) but this is definitely not somewhere I would eat again or recommend to any of my friends.

The regular(not stuffed) veggie pizza with white sauce is the absolute best I have ever had. I love their other pizzas too but this one is a masterful work of art. So pretty and yummy… even heated up the next day when I cannot manage the whole thing the night before. Hubs loves the chicken parm although too much bread he normally eats the chicken out of the sandwich. Delivery is great although when calling in order make sure operator gets your order and address right since the phone is apparently not located in a quiet location conducive to hearing all words. Premium prices but great food, local owned and operated and fast service can’t be beat!

Well… If you’re looking for pizza you can get it here. The pizza is okay at best. If you want good service though(and by service I mean someone actually remembering your order) don’t come here. We came as a party of 5 and 2/5s of us did not get our pizza. In fact, they accused one of the members of our party to having already got the piece of pizza when in all reality we did not get the piece. This place bullshit and only good if you want a $ 5 slice.

Tried the place twice while in town. Pizza was fine, but the service was not great. Both times, we were told 30 minutes. Both times, it was more than 45, and the second time I saw what I thought was our order on top of the oven, asked, was told no, only to have them say yes 15 minutes later. The girls at the registers seem to have their hands tied a bit with their ability to help the customers. Seems to be pretty disorganized.

Great pizza, good sized sandwiches and a gyro that is as legit as any I’ve ever had. My son wants to make this our go to pizza place. Too bad we live 45 minutes away.

Doesn’t even deserve one star. Party of four, our food came out so far apart … We didn’t even eat at one time as a family! They have no mayonnaise or even ketchup for cheese steak subs. Where sandwiches are served, there are usually condiments. And pizza tastes like cardboard, had to sprinkle oregano spice from table on my pizza just to have flavor. We had so many options and we chose this place… Never again!!!

Loved coming here for lunch. It was like being on the LES in NYC, at the YMCA. Lot’s of cute boys here all talking like little Al Pacinos. I like that they have pizza by the slice, I got a slice of sausage and it was yum and cheap. The crust was good and crunchy and the sauce/sausage were right on. I love inexpensive places that are good and this place is cheap, good and often rowdy, well, as rowdy as one gets in Southern Pines.

Was super hungry on First Friday and the line for the only food truck was outrageous. Decided to get a few slices from Sopies. Got three slices of the carnivore for a reasonable price. The wait was approximately 5 min, which I thought was excellent for as busy as it was. The pizza was delicious. I really wish they would have had a list of types of pizzas on the wall that they made. I definitely recommend and will be back.

This place has by far the best pizza in town. You will pay a few dollars more per pie but it is definitely worth it!

There’s great pizza, then there pizza made from the hands of Zeus himself. If you want pizza good enough for mythical gods then SoPies is the place to feast.

My husband and I ordered a pizza form SoPies Friday, Jan 10th at 6pm. The waitress told us our order would be ready in a half hour. At 6:20 we showed up and paid for our pizza. The waitress told us our pizza wasn’t ready but to wait at the bar and they would call our name when our order was ready. At 6:45 I went to the cashier and asked if she knew when our pizza would be done. Another waitress passed by and said, «Yeah, they’ve been waiting a long time.» The cashier went to the ovens and picked a box off the top. I saw the box on top of the ovens when we walked in and then sat at the bar. It had been there for 25min. I asked if the pizza was now cold. They told me it was not. I asked them to leave the box open and put my hand over the pizza to check the temp. It was lukewarm from sitting on top of the oven. I took the pizza to the cashier; I explained when we first paid for our pizza she told us it was not done and to sit at the bar as they would call us. We sat waiting to be called(in actuality our our pizza was already done). No one called us. I told her I didn’t think I wanted the pizza anymore because it wasn’t hot. They called the manager over. He was very aggressive and almost annoyed. He said there was no way they had not called our name. I promised we sat at the bar the whole time and no one called our name. He said that wasn’t possible. Then he said, «So what do you want ME to do?» I don’t like confrontation, my voice was shaking and my eyes were watering. I felt like he was angry with me because I pointed out a mistake. I said, «I don’t know, but we waited, no one called us.» He huffed, «So what, I should refund your money? They called your name.» I stuttered, «I-I don’t know I just…» He cut me off, «Look, we called you, I don’t know what you want.» The teen boy asked if he could make me something else. I was embarrassed and upset. I told him no. I started to cry, picked up my pizza and walked away. I really just wanted someone to say sorry or at least own up to the mistake or miscommunication. Instead I was met with an angry manager that was annoyed with me and made me fell little and stupid.

I was told they did a «large» pizza at So Pies. I had no idea. Eh Big Boy Pizza is huge. There is no way to prepare you for this. As I went in to pick up my pizza folks in the shop were staring and taking pictures. It was a sight to behold. And If you were wondering, it tasted great. This is proper thin crust pizza. Good crust, great sauce, and cheese coverage. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza. They also have a great beer selection if you are eating in.
