You know going out on a limb is something only the brave do! I had been going to this salon for probably about 2 years now… about the time I moved here. Scheduling was great, the salon’s stylist are young and vivacious! However, my stylist Bridgette left in maybe November 2015. Since then it has become a total nightmare! Scheduling is a huge problem… sometimes you cannot get in for more than a month! Sometimes Mother Nature happens and the studio has to shut their doors and cancel appointments. You are told we will put you into a priority list when appointments come available, we will call you! So, we as customers are expected to drop what we are doing to come in? That’s ridiculous! A stylist calls in sick, Ohhh lets reschedule when it’s convenient for us not when it’s convenient for you! Oh yea, I got one of those phone calls trying to get my daughter in last minute(out of town and cannot make it there)! There is no other solution! How about you work later or open your shop up on a Monday to accommodate the customer. How about another stylist putting people into their schedule and picking up for someone else’s shortfalls, after all, you choose to close or cancel an appointment! Let’s not stop there! Let’s drop our lives and wait for you!!! This morning I get a call when I had an appointment at 9AM and you wait to call 10 minutes until the appointment and I am already driving over to your salon! That’s ridiculous! You are the least bit accommodating! You know I went out on a limb with scheduling and trying a new stylist at your salon! Maybe, it’s a good thing that I didn’t with your cancelation! You are least deserving of your customer’s business and incompetent. My previous post about this place being great has been otherwise deleted! I honestly do not know how you stay in business!

The folks here are very nice and because of it I want to give them 3 stars, however as sweet as they are, I am tired of paying professional prices for okay work. They did not mess up my color and there better then the salon across the street but in the end I really can’t recommend this salon. They need to bring their ability up before they charge as much as a master stylist would. I will use them only if I have no other choice.

The reviews must be from past stylist. That’s very sad. I have had a great experience with Bridget. After going to 2 other salons and having my hair totally jacked up– she fixed it. I wish I would have found her first. I had cut 21 inches off and was hoping for a good experience– needless To say– It won’t happen again– however Bridget fixed my woes and is helping me transition back to my old style. They are always helpful here, they are respectful and super relaxing.

I went to Taylor David Salon armed with pictures and a clear description of the color I wanted and that I wanted to avoid going too dark. Unfortunately, my resulting color was entirely too dark, basically a dark brown burgundy shade. I had asked for a light brown golden shade. After waiting 2 days I concluded I was extremely unhappy with this result as it was nowhere near what I asked for. I contacted the salon and told them I would like it lightened free of charge. The solution by management was to add highlights, which I was satisfied with, but they said they would charge me! They said that my color was beautiful and since they liked the color I suppose it didn’t matter that me(the client) was not satisfied. So, needless to say I will never return here for lack of client satisfaction and unwillingness on the salons part to fix the problem. Also, the fact that the original color was way off is a testament to a larger problem with this salon. I could have ruined my hair color myself, that is why I went to the professionals! If you want to keep clients you make things right, not disagree with them.

I visited this salon in May and had very high hopes but sadly my whole experience from start to finish was dreadful. I have never left a negative review but now I am seeing reviews similar to my experience with both my stylist and the salon manager/owner. I went in to get a partial foiled highlights and low-lights to cover my roots. I always start with a partial with a new stylist just in case. While getting my highlights my stylist told me about her friends who have learned how to rip off the beach parking meters in Wilmington. Odd. Then the time came to rinse my hair and start drying. I was happy with my haircut. I thought she really did a nice job. However, as my hair was drying I noticed that my I could still see my dark roots. I raise my concern to my stylist and she said that it was just the way my hair was parted so she re-parted my hair and I could still see them. Then I was told that it was just the«way the foils lie» that she couldn’t get to my scalp and was made to feel like I was just seeing things. I have had my hair colored for 11 years and I have never left with my hair looking like that. She had another client so she said that she could have another stylist put some more foils in my hair but at that point I knew I just needed to leave. A few days later I called the salon and spoke with the salon manager/owner. I explained that I was trying to be discreet but was really unhappy and although I was happy with my cut, I was really dissatisfied with my color service. From start to finish she defended the stylist and her time and refused to refund what I paid for the color. My only option was to drive an hour back to the salon and have the stylist redo my hair. I wasn’t about to let that happen since I had already expressed my concern the day of service and was met with excuses. The owner also made me feel like I was just seeing things and defended the time of the stylist. Not once was MY time or money mentioned as being of value. I told the owner that I was going to e-mail pictures of my hair and that I would love to know what she thought. After doing so I never heard back. I wish the salon the best but I strongly recommend that you spend your time and money elsewhere. Such a shame because the salon is adorable and in a great location!

This is a very cute salon and wonderfully decorated. The hairstylists are very nice and attentive. I personally love the smell of lavender from the Aveda oils used. Initially before I get my hair done by a new face I have to say, I’m pretty anxious however, the head massage with the natural oil aromas of lavender, light conversation and elegant atmosphere did much to keep me relaxed… Like, I almost fell asleep in my chair. I like the hairstylist who did my hair but I can’t say I’m over joyed about how my hair turned out, especially now that it’s been over a week. It’s somewhat choppy where I prefer more of a feathered look. I began to notice uneven portions and also began to wonder how much experience she’s had with layered hair. Otherwise, I saw many many happy customers and maybe if you don’t have thick layered hair like me, this is a nice spot. Ps. Aveda products are a plus
