Don’t waste your time. Went in to purchase a magazine for my pistol and shoot for a half hour on a Wednesday afternoon. In the 27 minutes I was in the building, I was acknowledged once, only to be told to hold on. There was a rough total of 4 customers in there at the time. Not acceptable for a brand new shop.

I’ve gone here for a couple of sessions this week and found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. I go during the week around lunch time when it is not crowded. I have not had any issues. The range officers I met are a decent lot. No hassles bringing your own ammo. Once when I went the place was fairly empty and the range officer told me not to bother sweeping my casings — I usually clean up after myself. When I go it is clean and pretty smoke free. I would recommend to anyone. One aside — who in the world uses coupons to go to a shooting range? I’ve always considered them to be a highly anal lot.

I used a Groupon for a shooting experience for 2. It was valued at $ 93.99 and I bought it for $ 47. Obviously, I thought it was a great deal. The deal included:
One handgun rental (a $ 12 value)
One box of 9 mm ammo (a $ 16.99 value)
Half-​hour lane rental (a $ 10 value)
Protective eye and ear gear (a $ 3 value)
Two target sheets (a $ 2 value)
15 minutes of safety instruction (a $ 50 value)
I assumed I would be in a classroom for 15 minutes learning about how to shoot a gun, as this was my first time. When I went to the desk, though, the woman working asked if I had a groupon (because I was holding my phone), and asked if it was my first time, to which I replied, «Yes». She then scanned my groupon as I signed some paperwork, she took my license (which was not scanned — apparently no background check is required to use a gun), she put everything in a basket, and said «Lane 4». I asked, «What about the 15 minutes of safety instruction?» She replied, «There’s an instructor in an orange vest in there, he’ll teach you everything.» Okay, so I walked in and looked for this man — he was helping 2 girls so we had to wait about 10 minutes. Then he came over and yes, he was very helpful and nice — no complaints there. Except it was very hard to communicate considering the noise and our ear gear was on. The shooting was fun, I enjoyed it. I had to give this a 1 star rating, though, because the groupon was a scam. If I had not used a groupon and just rented all of those things MINUS the «$ 50 safety instruction», which I did not need to purchase because that man in there must help anyone who asks for help, then I would have only spent $ 43.99, which was LESS than the cost of my groupon. That’s asinine. People, don’t buy the groupon, it’s a rip-​off. And because Action Impact made this deal with groupon, Action Impact is a rip-​off. Although I enjoyed shooting, I will never go there again.

Before yesterday I had never held, let alone fired, a gun other than one that shoots pellets. It was something that always intrigued my wife, so for her birthday I purchased a groupon for Action Impact because it stated that a safety officer would give instructions on how to use the weapons. We were both super intimidated walking in. We found the counter to sign the waivers, the woman took my license and handed me a glock. Everything about this exchange made me uneasy. We got our eye and ear protection and headed into the range, with instructions to look for the man in the orange vest, as he was the range officer and would be talking us through it.
It was insanely loud, casings flying everywhere and I was pretty frozen in fear for a few moments. Then Mel and his orange vest came over and taught us everything. I went from being pretty freaked out to downright excited the more he talked, assured and encouraged. Wow was that fun! Our 30 minutes of range time went quickly and we got some good practice and experience under our belts. Something about the way Mel rattled off instructions put us both at ease and made us eager to learn.
I left on a total adrenaline high. And I’m probably going to do it again.
Prices seem reasonable even without a Groupon. Awesome experience!

It’s they job to answer a question well some of the staff here are ass holes. I called and asked a simple question did they have a firearm in stock the guy act like he had an attitude u should’ve not went to work if u gonna be a smart ass maybe it’s cuz I’m black. Lol *voice* they hate to see a legit African American.

Very clean location, Got my Cpl there Very good pricing. Range is clean and priced well nice selection off guns to rent, Staff is helpful and very friendly. My go to gun Range.

Great selection of guns, ammo, and accessories. It’s not cheap («full price» writ large), but what they lack in discounts they make up for in great selection, a great range, and great staff who really know their stuff and aren’t dogmatic about it like some gun nuts are. Their range is also affordable and they offer a pretty decent selection of guns for rental. I enjoyed my CPL class both in terms of working with the instructors, the other students, and thought we covered quite a bit of good stuff.

While entering the store was a bit intimidating, the employees were all very kind and helpful as we had our first shooting range lesson. My girlfriend and I only paid about $ 45 for everything, which was rather cheap relative to other shooting range prices I saw online. The entire store and range was very clean and professional — all the employees seemed knowledgeable and were very kind which put us at ease.
As a beginner, I was expecting a classroom of some sort as they run down the rules and instructions of gun-​handling and firing but there was nothing of that sort. Instead, an employee, after noticing us standing timidly at the range, came over and helped us out and gave interactive instructions and was very helpful in teaching us how to handle, load, and fire our handgun. He constantly emphasized safety rules which helped drive good habits into our heads.
Overall, this is a great, safe local shooting range and I will definitely be back to try out the other firearms.

Overall they have the nicest indoor range in the area. I have brought in my own ammo and no one ever said anything about it. They just check it for steel case or armor piercing I think. On the range I have always seen range officers being mindful of other shooter’s practices. The air handling system of the range is great.
Price wise on guns they are high but so are a lot of shops in this area. I’m not saying don’t buy, but just do your shopping. However they do handle FFL transfers.
I took their CPL/​CCW course after taking a class a couple years before. i felt it was very rushed and range time left little for instruction while shooting. Which I thought was unfortunate for a lot of the newbies in the class. Instead he corrected technique with a laser training gun. But the biggest thing was the instructor told us in the law section that Michigan was a duty to retreat state. Where a previous course I took from a State Police officer said contrary and my own double checking on the law too. (Self defense act section 780.972). While I understand his reasoning, that its best to avoid a fight (and agree with that) or to give people a more rebuttable defense. This left me wondering what else he left out. Maybe I’m focusing too much on one issue, but that part of the law is a big deal. My other course also provided me with NRA book as well. While I’ll continue to go here to use the range, a renewal class I might think twice about.

Everyone was very helpful and if you’re looking to buy a gun this is definitely your place the shooting range was clean and not too cold and the staff there was more than willing to help. They do offer gun rental here so if you don’t have your own firearms or looking to figure out what fire is best for you I recommend going here. Other than double action this is the only other shooting range I know of that rents out handguns. There are also other women who work here we’re more than willing to give you their suggestions and insight on what would be best for you. I will be back for sure I was very impressed with this place a nice comfortable environment to shoot and what could be better.

I wish Unilocal would do no or negative stars, RUN FOR THE HILLS, there is a reason this place needs most of its business from groupon. No shooter worth his salt would go here. It is by far the highest priced range on product and range time in the area. They are focused on hoodwinking new shooters and on top of this this place is a joke I am sorry but I have to be truthful and only because of safety!!! NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE SHOULD BRIING KIDS HERE !!! THIS IS A N. D. (negligent discharge) WAITING TO HAPPEN. As for the d.p.d. property room! «instructor „he could not even tell that the shooter in the lane next to me was limp wristing all their shots and was the cause of the malfunctions of the firearm and not that it needed to be serviced, a rookie observation any“ INSTRUCTOR» should have noticed, 5 minutes of simple and RESPONSIBLE INSTRUCTION solved this from a .C.B.P. instructor that was with me enjoying a day off. The place is full on new shooters and that is good and respected but when you instill bad habits from the start with sub par off the cuff instruction it is DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATING. There is a lot of rapid fire here and ammo wasting along with too many hazardous conditions to mention one handed shooting and not the disabled arm proper technique trying to learn style, sideways gun holding, John Wayne, cup and saucer holding (A technique the self stated «instructor suggested to a new shooter»), hands high on the grip WICH RESULTED IN A SLIDE BITE AND BLOOD, If you are paying a «„INSTRUCTOR“ to pace behind the lines KNOW what to look for and execute action accordingly but that is impossible without proper knowledge, the straw that broke that camels back and made us leave early and fork over our HIGHLY OVERPRIICED RANGE TIME, this so called instructor advised the group of two to our left who were shooting on 2 lanes ‚» For SAFTEY” these people should when transitioning lanes «SHOVE YOUR GUN IN YOUR FRONT POCKET SO ITS POINTING DOWN CAUSE YOU WOULDNT SHOOT YOUR PENIS OFF WOULD YA» ** WHATTTTT THE FU## **THIS PLACE IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE if this shooter was not somewhat competent and looked at him like he was out of his mind (later talked to him outside of the lane and found out he was a well trained IDPA shooter who always and did have slide locked back and mag out) This is a N. D. waiting to happen, With the overall abundance of new shooters here which you see are 90% of the reviews on here And this lack of responsibility it is a matter of time. So when a new shooter forgets his keys /​change/​wallet in pocket and is nervous and shoves a loaded pistol the pocked and hits the trigger or leaves his finger inside the guard and BOOOM! best case hitting the tile floor and ricocheting into a bystander or through and through due (i.e. ball target ammo…) and hits femoral and bleeds out in 3 minutes, people RUN there are so many closer by i.e. center mass, top gun, firearm exchange, don’t risk you or your family’s safety

I think the people that own/​work here think this is the only gun store in Michigan. Reality check– there are tons of other gun stores/​ranges that people can go to and not get attitude and HIGH prices that come along with this place.
I rented the gun to test it before I bought it. The smart a#$ kid that was helping me said if I bought the gun I rented, they would return all range fees back to me.
I bought the gun and when I received my receipt I questioned the credit. It was not even half of the charges from the range. The kid said oh we only refund the price of the actual gun rental. WHAT? That is not what you said in the beginning. What a bunch of crap. You could have been honest instead of trying to scam me. If I would have known this, I would not have purchased the gun here. I have never experienced a gun store that charges like this.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. I dealt with 3 different people, all were RUDE and the prices here are a lot higher than other gun stores in town. Do not waste time with these people. They seemed bothered by having to help with a sale. Oh and by the way, let’s just say this is not my first gun and I did not require assistance with learning how to use it.

I found this place through groupon and decided it was worth the price for all I could get there. It was so much more! This was my friend and mines first time and we were a little nervous. The guys on the range made us feel so comfortable and really took the time to make sure we were doing everything as we should be doing. All seemed to be ex-​military. My groupon for for an hour range time with 15 minutes instruction. We ended up staying for close to 2 hours with an instructor there with us the whole time correcting our small errors. We ended up trying 4 different guns. This place was safe too. At the end of the range a guy was shooting rapid fire and was thrown out no questions asked. I will definitely be back!

I like the range and they used to have a huge rental selection but someone burglarized them. NO EXCUSES! If you own a gunshop you cannot get robbed you have a responsibility to do anything and everything to make sure it doesnt happen. Now there are more guns in the hands of criminals on the streets!

I am an NRA firearms instructor, but since I live in the Occupied state of Kalifornia, I couldn’t buy a gun here. Nevertheless, the staff showed me anything that I wanted to see, were very cordial, and answered all my questions. Too many «holier than thou» types work at gun stores, but they must be working somewhere else, ‘cos they aren’t working here. A++
PS: I checked «Good for kids» because it’s a safe place for them to learn about guns and gun safety.

If you are an open carry advocate I would advise you to watch the linked video of a segment on Fox which includes negative comments on the subject from the owner of Action Impact, Mr. Bill Kucyk. After having viewed this video please feel free to patronize this establishment if you wish, but I for one refuse to do business with this man.

But with the Janitor at my side, I knew there would be no mess.
His real name is Keith, a decades-​old veteran of the Detroit Police Department and one of Action’s Impact’s firing range safety coordinators. The Janitor was kind enough to demonstrate the function and components of my 9 MM gun, as well as teach me how to load and use it.
I’d never shot a gun before. I don’t own a gun and don’t plan on buying one. But I figured it wouldn’t hurt to know how to fire one, especially since I work for a civilian contractor in Afghanistan.
I had an image in my head about how these places operate. A bunch of crazy gun nuts, letting lose copious amounts of bullets and testosterone. What I actually found was a clean, professional environment, where safety is of the utmost concern. I rented a gun, 9 MM, bullets, safety glasses, ear protection, and a lane for $ 42. Everything was well-​explained and non-​threatening for a newbie like me.
The recoil was stronger than I thought. My bullets kept going high. Hold steady, said my custodial mentor. Aim with one eye open, breathe, and pull the trigger. Hold the trigger down after firing. Slowly let go, fire again for a second shot almost guaranteed to be more on target than the first.
When my lane time was over, I thanked the Janitor and tried to tip him for his training. He shook his head and replied «that’s what I’m here for. Come see us again sometime.»
I highly recommend Action Impact. The staff are incredibly professional, friendly, and safety conscious. If you want to learn to fire a gun, stop by. Ask for the Janitor.

This review is mostly on the CPL class:
$ 100 for ~5 non-​consecutive hours of instruction/​education and ~3hours of target shooting (100 – 150 rounds — you shoot til you run out of ammo).
You can rent a pistol there– not sure if its an additional cost as I brought my own. Must buy ammo at their range! They have reloads but also have regular range ammo as well (I prefer to not use reloads). Eyes and ears included in fee. Wear a shirt with a tight fit at the chest– no Vneck shirts as hot casings can go down one’s shirt. Wear shoes that cover your feet (no flip flops) for same reason mentioned above. Pizza provided for lunch. No test.
Leroy was the CPL instructor. He brings real life examples into his teachings. When asked a question he was able to make the originator think through the problem to find the answer. Instead of just giving a short yes or no answer to the questions originating from the plethora of scenarios students had concocted, he would essentially tell a story or allow participants in the class to reenact the scenarios for a better understanding of the answer. His credentials and teaching style cannot be surpassed.
The range is well-​ventilated! Safety is a priority. Range rovers were in the range with you watching, helping, etc. Leroy’s daughter was also there instructing, repositioning shooters and ensuring safety while in the range– she is one bad ass chic!
As a woman in a male-​dominated field, I felt very welcomed and respected by all employees of AI. I would recommend this CPL class and range for target shooting to my friends and family!
And most importantly, I now feel comfortable owning and using my pistol under the the guidelines of the law.

I’m reviewing the CCW class which is offered just about any day but I highly suggested calling before and reserve a spot; the class get FULL pretty quickly. (Arrive at least 15 to 30mins early) The class is 8hrs longs which includes lunch, 50 question test, shooting practice (ask for 9 MM which you get 100 bullets), and great instructor. If you register with the class, then you would only have to purchase the bullets and renting of gun, ear plugs, and glass protect is included.
The class was ran by instructor JP Porcalla who is an NRA certified instructor, Range Safety Officer, and also with the International Association of Law-​Enforcement Firearm instructor member by «Focus 1^st Firearm Training».

Don’t be afraid because you never shot a gun before or even handle one — there were a ton of people in the class standing in your same shoes. Some people were taking the class to protect the household and some others experience terrible situation which result in them wanting to protect themselves.
The staff is welling to help you and help on your stand — their greatest service there is make sure that no one gets hurt in the process and using the correct gear.
