Applebee’s

Went here with high expectations, as we have been at multiple Applebee’s. My Chicken Tender basket was great, service&Manager super kind. Food from Dad&Mum was’nt good. Portions were way too small for the price, Food descriptions irritating, as they state spinach in the Menu, with only getting 3 leafs. Also, the steaks werent spiced, while my youngest sisters Club sandwich had way too much spice on it.

Horrible service no stars didn’t get orders takke. For an hour not even drinks than food was cold after the sever claim owe didn’t pay so embarrassing when we did manager had to look for the ticket he apologized but honestly won’t be going back bartenders also loud and have no fucks

I am beyond shocked this location has survived. As a bartender, I know I want to support the bar. As I sat there, (waiting for cold food to arrive), my bartender continued her cell phone conversation as she took others’ orders. She left, as other servers asked far and few between what I needed. She left the building to get someone, returned and threw a fit about her situation, and all I wanted was another beer. THE MANAGER ALLOWED THIS, as if she was afraid of these children. I don’t trust the food to be honest. Horrible facility. Oh… I didn’t mention that this corporate restaurant shut down an hour early Monday night because «people were acting up and they were slow.» Manager call

We were honestly leery about trying this Applebee’s fairly new in our neighborhood. We’ve waited almost a year due to all the poor reviews… food, service, wait time, etc etc. well, either things have settled down or changes have been instituted, we went this Thursday for dinner. Alexis, our waitress was great, informative, brought us a few beer samples, very friendly and helpful. I tried the D Tea (using Detroit made vodka and Gin). OK, but pricey $ 7.00.
My husband had steak, fried onions, roasted potatoes. Steak was undercooked, returned with cheerful attitude and brought back just perfect, very tasty, and an abundance of potatoes. I tried Tai shrimp salad, also tasty, at least a dozen small grilled shrimp. Alexis had sauces served on the side as I was concerned about too spicy. Could have used more almonds and wontons, but abundance of lettuce. We were relieved, will probably stop by again some time.

Ended up here due to a power outage at our original choice. After a 30 minute wait, our «waitress» finally brought our drinks. She was nice enough to offer the water we asked for to go when we finally received our bill. Never again.

Service is horrible, it’s slow! They weren’t rude, just seemed to have no vested interest in ensuring that we had a positive experience. She never refilled our waters, or even brought waters to the table until we asked for it. And i know dealing with customers all day can be very tiring but at least be attentive. I am not asking to be your friend while I am their but how do you expect to get tipped if you can’t even check on our table and refill waters, or made sure our orders came out right. The only time when we did see our server was when she took our food order, checked on us because it took about 30 minutes to get our food and our bill. This is not my first time here but this time particularly was just an awful experience. If I ever do come back I am gonna ask for a different server.
As for the food I had the fiesta chicken chopped salad, It was NOT up to par!!! I hate sending things back because i feel bad and food is food. But this salad had the wrong ingredients, they put a lot of nuts in the salad which is not supposed to have any, barely any ingredients of which was listed on the menu and they forgot the chicken. When the chicken came out it was not the chimichurri glazed chicken that was supposed to be on it but pretty much just slathered in oil. I pretty much paid for lettuce, nuts and chicken…

I was very surprised with how good our experience was! In short, the food was hot and fresh, our waitress was prompt and polite, as was the rest of the staff, and the atmosphere was inviting. We ordered the meal for 2 and had the boneless wings with spicy Asian sauce… delicious! I had the Fiesta Lime Chicken and my husband had the Bourbon Steak… both very good. We only had one problem which is typical of chain restaurants… we had to send our sons grilled chicken back to have it cooked more. However, once it came back it wasn’t overcooked and was very tasty. My husband and I usually stay away from chain restaurants but we’ll definitely visit this Applebee’s again.

Me and my girlfriend have been coming here for drinks, food and dessert for a few months and we are addicted to the amazing service and drink specials. I love the feeling of welcome each server has and the amazing drinks.

I love this Applebee’s! They always take good care of me when I come here! The drinks and food are good! Everyone is friendly and attentive. I usually sit at the bar, but even when I sit at a table, the service is great!

To add, our waitress was listening to music with her headphones in… has taken 15 min to get a bill.

The host didn’t seem like she wanted to be there… our server forgot about us but it was just a mistake. Dominque was super nice and friendly and attentive. she has a really pretty smile. our food came pretty quick. the only issue was them forgetting about us considering how slow it was.

Don’t order a mixed drink!
The bartender lied to my husband and I about the type of liquor that he used in our drink… all generic! He told us that he used top-​shelf (another bartender showed us the generic bottles)
The management allows teenagers to sit in the bar area (unsupervised),
I thought that was against the law!

It’s a Thursday night and I’m pumped to get those ½ off apps… I was completely turned off by this particular Applebee’s as soon as I walked in the door. First off, since there was no «wait to be seated» sign OR a hostess present at the door, bae and I decided to seat ourselves. We were then literally scolded by an employee for seating ourselves in the bar area. From then on I felt really uncomfortable. Another waitress came by with menus. I asked her what the drink specials were, and with slight attitude she set a drink menu in my face not saying a word. I then told her we would need a few minutes to order. When she came back to take our orders she literally stood at our table and stared until we said something… What. Who does that? This was just all too much for me so we canceled our order and left. Such a shame because the interior is pretty nice.

I attempted to get carry out service here today, only to leave hungry and frustrated after waiting about ½ hour after placing my order, only to be asked for the 2^nd time if I had placed my order yet.
I am not sure what the problem is, since this Applebee’s has a regular carry out service. I placed my order on the phone and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Nearly 30 minutes later, waiting patiently in the restaurant, I asked about the status of my order a 2^nd time, with the response from waitress of «have you place your order already?».
I am not one to write reviews often, but I would like to spare others from such an annoying experience.

Another disappointment for the city of Southfield! Let’s start with AppleBees as a franchise. The so called «neighborhood bar & grill», welcome to Southfield, glad you could find our city of 70k on the map and decide to bless us with your services! I went skiing a few years ago near Petoskey, Michigan, population about 5k and guess what? They had a AppleBees way before Southfield! Now let’s talk about your Southfield implementation. If you know it or know the land where AppleBees is located has been topic of conversation for many, many years. After Catholic Church closed the school once located there, many developers attempted to acquire that location. Most note able was WalMart which was met with huge community out cry for many reasons. Fast forward AppleBees is now on the site of the intersection that has been ranked in top three for accidents for whole state of Michigan for a decade.
Now to the venue. Way smaller then any other AppleBees I have visited and some sort of new layout configuration that is just not working for me! Restaurant just did not seem to have a good flow or separation of bar and family patrons. However this issue is not a show stopper! I was looking for a venue to take the spot of the Friday’s on evergreen and could be a Friday hangout for co-​workers but and also serve as a nice spot to bring the family.

Our waitress was young, very green and not well trained. We witness her frequently joking and talking to other employees vs checking on us. We ordered happy hour specials. When food was brought out by a different waitress, there was two too many plates. We explained that the extra food was not ours to which we were too, «well you can have them anyway!» Normally who does not enjoy a good hook up! But us eating that food, meant someone who actually ordered it had to wait another 20 mins to get their food.
That was pretty much the theme of the night as we were met with employee after employee that just did not seem to care about controlling their environment, either via company cost or customer experience.
I’ve visited AppleBees a couple more time since and while it does not reach the craziness of Friday’s and turn into a night club, it does nothing to separate itself in regards to quality food and service. It’s mediocre at best! I prefer the Novi or Livonia or this one!
Location wise, it’s not located near anything that would complement a evening out with your wife or girlfriend. It’s about 3 miles from the movie theater. Southfield road is not know for nightlife so good luck if your going to make a night of if starting at ApplesBees! They will be there for awhile cause again the Southfield city planner sucks so our options are limited!

You can skip this place!
Only plus was that our server Chris (female) was very friendly & attentive, aside from that…
1) presentation of the food was less than appealing
2) taste matched the appearance of the food

Not a huge fan of Apple Bees but we decided to go to Military Monday which is a generous 30% off the bill.
When we got there the music was a little loud for the families that were there. A little dirty… maybe it was just busy.
We had a very nice waitress. A little confused about changing our order after it was put into the system. She gave us $ 2 off for our trouble.

My experience was unpleasant because 1) the service was extremely slow and bad, 2) my food tasted bad, 3) my food was cold.
First, the service was paiiinfullyyy slow and bad! We must have waited 10 minutes to order, then 30 minutes for our food to come out. Also, our server Deshawn did not seem to know about the Unilocal check-​in offer and thought we had to be sitting AT the bar to get the free bar snack. Not true, we insisted so he checked and we were right. There seemed to be A LOT of servers compared to customers, yet our server always seemed to be somewhere else. And if you’re going to advertise and run specials for checking in on social media, the servers need to be knowledgeable about them, not seem like it’s the first time they heard of them.
Second, my food tasted like I tried to cook and failed. I had the healthy under 600 calorie Steakhouse Bruschetta Sirloin with a side of roasted potatoes. Potatoes tasted like nothing, and the steak was tough and not seasoned well. And my dish looked nothing like their photo. Same for the BF’s Mac and cheese entrée… it was tiny and cold.
Third, my food was COLD. Deshawn passed by our table several times as we looked at him, expecting him to tell us why our food was so delayed. He said our food would be out «shortly.» It wasn’t, and when it came out it was COLD. I would have sent my food back, but I didn’t want to WAIT ANY LONGER. I ate part of it and left still hungry. Not worth the $ 13.99.
I went to Baskin Robbins and got their flavor of the month SNACKNADO and felt better. This was one of my worst dining experiences in a long time.

So I am ending my Daddy and daughter day…“Daddy let’s go there I wanna try their food!” Sure as a dad would do we pulled into the APPLEBEE’s of Southfield on Southfield road. My daughter and I step in and it is semi busy but looks like they have enough staff to handle the flow. 3:23pm we are seated. the nice hostess gives us our menus and flat ware. tic toc tic toc tic toc 3:52 «Daddy were is our server?» This is after she and I had completed coloring the kids menu. «I am not sure baby girl, put your coat on and let’s go.»
Yes folks we did not even get a water or a pop or a «Hey I am your server and I will be with you in a few.»
Excuse me, who is your manager?“MIKE” So mike I did not feel like talking to you or any other Manager on Duty. You have a whole lot of servers and cleaners doing nothing. Way to many tables there that were dirty or the floor underneath was dirty. In your next team meeting let your staff know. If you give great attention to the little things for costumers they would get better tips and you would not have folks walking out on your service.
Really this place needs a ZERO star.

Great service from David. My mom askd a million questions. Food was good. I got a burger and mom got the lunch shrimp pasta deal. Burger and fries were both tasty. I added Onion strings to a regular burger. Only complaint was both the burger and fries were lukewarm. Tasted some of her Caesar salad. Solid. Pasta dish looked unappealing. I may make this an occassional spot for drinks and catch some of the game since there are tvs all around. Menu leaves much to be desired like many of these chains. Great happy hour specials on food and drinks. Very fair drink prices. Perfect sangria margarita was a star. Will be back for that. There were a couple other snafus but I let it slide since they just opened.
