‘field Zone

In a perfect Ward & June Cleaver-​esque world, mothers would be able to greet their children, milk and cookies in hand as they bound through the door after school. For those of us working mothers whose crock pots and carryout orders take the place of those wistful cookie trays, ‘field zone is truly an answered prayer.
Located in Southfield’s Municipal Complex, ‘field zone is the social epicenter of the middle and high school set. The center is open Monday through Friday until 9:00pm and until 11:00 on Saturdays. Offering computer and study labs, a recording studio, a gaming center, a fully stocked snack bar and more, there is nothing more these youngsters could ask for. Parents can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their children are in a safe, structured environment that keeps their youngsters safe and occupied. There is a state of the art electronic system that requires a member’s badge for both entry and exit, and staff who continually monitor the comings and goings of the ‘field zone members. With special weekly and monthly activities scheduled in addition to the regular daily schedule, the fee of $ 65.00 a semester is more than justified. I was so impressed that I not only enrolled my 12 year old son, but have offered to volunteer in any capacity needed. A gigantic thank you to Mrs. King, Mrs. Wafers and the entire ‘field zone staff for offering tomorrow’s leaders a positive place to congregate today!
