I’ll start by saying that Soup Dive has the friendly employees in town, hands down. You walk in and everyone greets you and asks your day is, they tell you to have w blessed day. Just all around nice people. Onto the food. They have a rotating selection of home made soups daily but the dive gumbo they have everyday and it’s damn delicious! They serve it over white or brown rice and they are very generous with the amount of shrimp in it. I also tried their black bean soup which was outstanding. Aside from the obvious soup, they also offer sandwiches, salads and some entrées. I opted for the honey turkey on a gluten free wrap. It was fresh and very tasty. Whatever the secret sauce is that they use was excellent and refreshing. Ok so why 3 stars? Price point. For a small soup, medium soup and a wrap it was $ 30! That’s quite steep in my opinion. I also didn’t see prices posted anywhere so they kind of sucker you in with that. When you look at portion size and price it just does add up. That’s an expensive lunch in my book. Also, I was the only person in the entire restaurant and yet it took over 20 mins for my wrap to be made. It’s a wrap, served cold! So I found that to be extremely frustrating. In conclusion, great food, slow service and steep prices.

Tuna sandwich. Yes. Black bean burger. Yes. Shrimp wrap. Yes. Dive Gumbo. Yes. It’s not often you go to eat at a new spot and everyone is happy. But the family decided to test Soup Dive today and our only disappointment was the wait. Will definitely be returning to try some of the other dishes.

Everything was fine(I really love the chipotle black bean burger) until I went in yesterday and they made us wait for *45 minutes, had our food packed up, only to return back to work with BURNT dive fries, BURNT, completely BLACKBURNT! They knew they were BURNT and completely COULDHAVE said, «ma’am you’ve had double the wait, we’re sorry, can we refund money because we botched them and/OR «replace them with two pieces of cornbread.» But did they?! No, they snuck it in the bag inconsiderate as hell, didn’t say anything and took full payment for food that could not be consumed. ***UPDATE***Owner contacted me and issued me a full refund, she was kind and understand and assured me that she has addressed the issue.

Stopped By This Place Which Was Recommended By A Friend And The Food Was Outstanding! It Took A Minute To Get My Order, But I Would Choose Good Food Over Fast Food Any day. The Food Was So Fresh And Delicious, It Was Well Worth The Wait.

I tried the tuna sandwich with salmon chowder soup today. The salmon chowder is now my favorite soup. I even like it more then the seafood gumbo they have. This place is a hidden secret i just found out about. I cant wait until they open up another location. Also they have alot of options on the menu. I will be back very soon. Its great food and discounts help with the price. The customers service much better compared to restaurants around especially«wack donalds».

Delicious homemade soup! I live right by here and I went almost two years without trying it. Someone recommended it and I have been addicted ever since.

The food is very good. However, placing an order and actually receiving your order is a crap shoot. I waited an hour for my food last time when I went in and placed an order there, and my coworker never received her dish and finally asked to be refunded. The staff was all over the place. I just tried calling in to place a to go order thinking that would be the way to go, and I was put on hold for 5 minutes. I give up.

I arrived 30 minutes after they opened at 11, on a Friday. By my receipt it took me 8 minutes to choose, order, and pay. The place was completely empty. Fifty five minutes later, when I finally got my takeout, more than a dozen people who arrived and ordered after me were eating, or done eating. I had ordered a meal, a smoothie, and some soup. All 3 were tasty, but nearly an hour is a long time to wait for takeout. Further, despite making the owner aware, no apologies were preferred, and no attempt was made to make up for the situation. Despite good food, I will not be returning. Without at least basic service, it’s just not worth it.

I have been to this location 6 times and I always enjoy the soup of the day. I also love the grilled salmon salad. The cornbread is an excellent compliment. This location is clean and when the owner is in she will talk to you and make you feel welcomed. The staff she hires is courteous and respectful. I enjoy the small homey atmosphere.

I should have read the reviews on this place a bit closer, especially the ones that mention the price. The food was just okay, but the prices were through the roof! All my buddy had was a bowl of their Beef Stew with a Coke and it was almost $ 13.00 just for that! The Stew didn’t look all that great either. It looked really watery and there were only two small pieces of meat in it from what he said. As for me I got half a Sandwich and a Smoothie. The Sandwich was decent, but it was a bit dry. They toasted the bread and put very little of their«Dive Sauce» on it which was the reason for this. The staff seemed nice, but also very scatterbrained and slow. It should take all of two minutes tops to fill a bowl with soup that was already pre-made, but we sat there for roughly 10 minutes waiting on his order. I understand the Sandwich can take a little bit, but we ordered and paid separate so I would have expected he would have gotten his much much faster. «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» sums things up pretty accurately.

Let me start by saying that the food is very good! That’s why I’ve been back 3 times since trying it out. However, I strongly urge you to call ahead of times I’ve waited at least 30 minutes at least 2 out of the 3 times. The only reason I’ve come back is because the food is good and the staff is friendly. I’ll definitely go back, but I will take my own advice. I think this business definitely has a future, but just needs to work on their process.

Excellent, fresh food, especially their seafood dishes. Seriously worth the detour, but I recommend placing an order to go. After trying to dine in multiple times, it doesn’t seem like they’ve gotten their service together, but their to-go orders are on point. the food is well worth it. Have I mentioned that all their seafood dishes is as fresh as it gets around here? Will go again, any day, any time.

Love this place! I just ordered a veggie sandwich not from the menu but she created one just for my liking. It was so good. Being a vegetarian is sometimes hard to find food but this place is awesome and they are very friendly!

Tried this place for the third time today. The maple honey turkey sandwich and Jamaican chicken stew were very good! I ordered online to skip the wsit, which seems to be the best option

I ordered a large Dive Gumbo which was $ 12. I got home and ready to dig in and it resembled a bowl of thick, brown gravy. It tasted a little weird too, unlike any gumbo I’ve ever eaten! Best thing about this visit was the cornbread which was small but delicious!

The concept sounds good, healthy sandwiches soups and salads. However the experience left something to be desired. I ordered a soup and salad combo(salad selection is very limited). The soup was hot but bland. My biggest gripe with this place was that it took 20 minutes for them to bring my salad… and it wasn’t that good. If you’re looking for a quick bite for lunch, avoid this place. Slow and poor service are the words that come to mind.

If you want to dive into bland, mediocre soup and sandwiches, Soup Dive is your place. While the clam chowder is thick, it just had no flavor. I ordered a corn beef and coleslaw sandwich. It had no Russian or thousand island and the bread fell apart on the first bite. You’re better off going to Zoup. This food is not worth your money.

After 3 years of working in the Farmington Hills /Southfield area, I was more than ready to try a new place for lunch. I’d driven by a couple of times, and decided to give it a try. I walked in and it looked nice and clean, with interesting soups — Jamaican chicken, gumbo, clam chowder, cream of asparagus and cream of sweet potato. I tasted the sweet potato soup, which had a creamy smooth texture and delicious taste. If they had added a dash(or two) of some cayenne, it would have been perfect. I ordered the clam chowder, and was given a choice of crackers or cornbread as my side. Cornbread! Yum. Crackers might have been better, but I can’t turn down cornbread, which was pretty tasty. The chowder was good — not too think or too thin, with nice chucks of potatoes and little bits of clams. I’ll look forward to going back again and trying some of their other soups and sandwiches.
