Great game store. Lots for the retro game fan. Systems and games from the NES forward.(And a few Atari systems actually)

This place is awesome for gamers. They stock everything from old school NES to new PS3/Xbox. The owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He’ll make sure you get a better deal on your trades and purchases than Gamestop. Not only is the game selection good, but they also offer repair services that are unmatched anywhere else. Need your motherboard tweaked on your broken Xbox? Or simply a new joystick on your N64 controller? Gaming Source fixes everything. They also have a very good loyalty program. $ 5 for a lifetime membership and you get $ 10 rewards for every $ 100 spent, and a permanent % discount on all purchases in between.

I don’t consider myself a hardcore gamer, so venturing out to a local video game shop wasn’t high on my priority list. However, I had heard some great things about The Gaming Source and decided to check it out for myself. The inside of the store has a wall tribute to all things video game, from the age of wooden paneled Ataris to the oh «so bad» Powerglove*. The store has older generation consoles and video games for sale, should you ever decide to put yourself through trying to conquer Ninja Gaiden on NES. Trade ins are accepted on older generation systems as well. In addition to console repairs, they also offer console customizations and modifications if you really want a unique gift for that special someone. The gentleman on site was very friendly and helped my daughter select a Nintendo DS game; the prices of the games we looked at were close to the large chain stores. It was a very pleasant shopping experience, and I appreciate that the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself! *yes, that was a reference to the Fred Savage epic, «The Wizard” — I may be a little more in tune with video games than I originally thought.

The antithesis of GameStop, in the best way possible. It’s a core gamers dream in Connecticut. NES, SNES, Sega, and cheap fast repairs. Staff is friendly, and obliged my ooo’s and ahh’s as I walked down memory lane. It’s a bit out of my way, but worth the trip, and all future trips.

The Gaming Source has everything you need to get your nerd on. Repairs, console mods and customization, more retro games than you can shake a stick at, parts, accessories, and of course, modern games as well. Trade-ins accepted, too! Love this place, and love supporting small local businesses instead of the big box stores or that other one that rhymes with LameSnot!
