The Cakery

I ordered a very elaborate baby shower cake for my baby shower. The owner did an amazing job and several people asked where we got the cake from based on the design! When we met with her for our trial/​design ideas, we asked if she could tone down the sweetness level and she stated she could not. Well, at the shower, we noticed there was a lot of cake left over and we had plenty of different flavors and a top vegan layer for our guest to try. Our guest didn’t care for the flavor, but loved the design! With the amount I paid for this cake, I wish they would have loved both! I am attaching a picture.

The Cakery made a beautiful cake for my party and it was delicious! Very happy how they made it look so special.

Was only able to buy 5 flavors when I stopped in this a.m. (a Friday) though it was apparent there were a LOT of chocolate cakes gong out by what was on the production tables.
Chocolate and vanilla: cupcake dry. Red velvet was ok. Strawberry had great flavor; carrot cake amazing!

My daughter and her fiancé did the mandatory cake testing tour a few months back and have chosen The Cakery for their wedding. Just to confirm their choice, we tried them for a birthday cake with a very custom design on top, and then another birthday cake, and then talked the owner into making her first gluten free cake after trying her gluten free cupcakes (DEEEEEELICIOUS). She does custom designs, tries new flavors, and makes really the best cakes ever. Custom cakes only — don’t expect to run in and pick up a last minute «I forgot» cake — though they usually have fresh cupcakes at the counter. Pricing is what you would expect for delicious gourmet cakes and we now look for excuses to celebrate with cake. If you are gluten free you know that the cost of good gluten free flour will push up the price even more — but — when the cake is so good you can’t even tell it is gluten free it is worth it! If you aren’t gluten free, her regular cakes are beyond description good!!! Here is an example of how much she cares about the quality of her cake — she tells the bride and groom not to freeze the cake top for the one year anniversary (ever tasted your wedding cake after a year in the freezer?) she bakes them a new «top» just like their wedding cake for the anniversary. Now THAT is quality!

The staff was very nice, but the cupcakes were marginal at best. The icing was overly sugary and the cake was a bit dry.

Cakes have so much more meaning than we give them credit for. They are a synonymous with celebrations during your lifetime from birthdays to weddings and anniversaries. I have searched for the perfect bakery to represent this portion of my celebrations for many years and my search is finally over. I have decided that The Cakery will be a part of my family tradition by providing their artistic and delightful cakes during every celebration. Never have I seen such beautiful design and I was surprised by the artistry of the flavors as well. Even the smallest cake is made with such amazing flavors and designs at amazingly affordable prices.
They created the mose wonderful Birthday cake with less than a days notice and blew me away!
For the first time ever… I wish Unilocal had more than five stars.

The Cakery helped us design a custom wedding cake that not only blew our expectations away in both creativity & taste, but our wedding guests keep asking us who did the cake?! We’ll surely go back even if it’s just to marvel at their portfolio of edible sculptures?! The citizen’s of Southlake are lucky they don’t have to drive all the way from Dallas to get their sweet-​tooth and sugar-​plum-​fairy-​like dreams fulfilled?!

A wedding I recently attended commissioned The Cakery to make their wedding cake but there was a unique twist. Instead of a traditional bridal and groom’s cakes, they had individual cup cakes. They had 4 flavors: vanilla, chocolate, carrot, and lemon. Regretfully, I didn’t get to try the lemon but I did sample the other 3. And they were AMAZING. The best carrot cake I’ve ever had. Hands down.
If you have an event coming up, I HIGHLY recommend The Cakery in Southlake. You will not be disappointed.

We recently celebrated a milestone birthday, and true to form, I waited until just a few days before the surprise party to order the cake. I called The Cakery, and was assured that this was no problem. And, boy, did they deliver! The cake was beautifully decorated and was absolutely delicious. And, most importantly, the birthday girl (my wife) was very impressed!

Amazing cakes of all designs, friendly staff and delicious to go items like cup cakes and brownies.
