It’s was a 20 minute wait to get in. I was surprised to see half the tables inside totally empty. It would have nice to have been sitting drinking tea but they were sorely understaffed. We were finally sitting but not giving any napkins or silverware. Our food came out pretty fast but we still had no forks. We had to ask again. It took a long time for the waitress to show back up. The food was good and prices average to cheap. That was the only good thing. The wait staff was very friendly but very disorganized. Getting tea refils, napkins and silverware was a pain. All the wait staff were very young and energetic but needed training. I’m wondering what the owners are teaching them. The food was good but don’t know if we will be back any time soon.

Came with a large group of 15 and they accommodated us just fine. The food and drinks took FOREVER to come but at least we had hushpuppies to keep us occupied. The food was very typical seafood for the coast. Fried, not much flavor, huge portions. I got the shrimp and could barely finish half the plate. Good but not outstanding. The only issue I had was the waiter kept resting his hand on my shoulder. Every single time he came over. Not necessary. Made me uncomfortable.

Service staff seemed to be in need of customer service basics. No check-ins to see how the delayed meals tasted or if anything was needed/wanted, or even if water glasses were to be filled. Food was over salted(expressed to server). Disappointed.

Not great. With all the choices in Southport and okay island, I’m not sure why you would eat here. We got the shrimp. It was okay. But nothing to write home about. I think this is an old Ryan’s steakhouse and the inside is not very inviting.

We came tonight Mothers Day. Saw several Moms leaving with a flower. I too am a mom my Son an husband took me out to eat. Our dumb waitress gave no thought whether she was there to wait on a table or more interested in her hair. Maybe bc her arm hand was in a brace who knows. I left without a word from her or flower! Our food was ok. Not great but medi oker Son ordered Med Tuna came well done. The breaking on fish was really thick! Shame on you! Will go to another place an spend our money

This is a very casual and typical surf and turf style restaurant that should satisfy most folks looking for adequate seafood, ribs, or steak at a reasonable price. It occupies a building that has housed several other restaurants over the years, and it is quite spacious and capable of accommodating a large group quite easily. Having been here on a few other occasions over the past two years, one of the constants is the complimentary basket of hush puppies with a honey spreadi that comes to your table after getting comfortably seated. On this occasion, we ordered the baby founder and blackened tuna tacos. Our sides were cole slaw, french fries, and baked potato.

This place was great. We were down here for a visit, and wanted seafood for dinner. We went around 7:45 and there was no wait. Our waiter was very attentive and fast. He kept refilling our drinks before the got low, and with out asking. Their hush puppies with honey butter were amazing! I had jumbo fried shrimp. My mother and sister both got seafood pasta dishes. I tried the shrimp alfredo and it was pretty good too. The menu has a lot to choose from, very surprised. It was a place that had a family owned feel to it, and the food was just the same. Great place! Definitely recommend!

We had a big party of about 15 and went here. They were good at seating us and the servers were very attentive. The food was very typical of a fried seafood restaurant. There is a large selection of what you can order but in summary you can get a plate of 1 – 6 different seafood items grilled or broiled. For the price we paid I was expecting a lot more food or better quality food. I wanted to go to the McDonalds across the street for a burger after going here. The food wasn’t bad or anything, but it was so generic. There are much better places in Southport where you can spent $ 30 on a meal. I’d recommend Mr. P’s instead(though Mr. P’s is more expensive, the food there is very top quality) It was a good place to try but I doubt I’ll be returning. It just didn’t have anything special nor did it have good value.

Waitress was rude. Coconut shrimp was good. Friends ordered dried seafood platter that looked like they brought it over from Captain D’s. I would have been upset had I paid $ 23 for what they got. Other friend ordered Coke and the refills were brought to him in styrofoam cups. Stay classy, Atlantic Seafood.

We arrived on time for a reservation and we’re promptly sat and served. Waitress was not overly pleasant or helpful. She seemed exasperated with helping people make choices… food came quickly but she handed hot plates across table to bare hands without walking around to serve each person. New York steak I had was thin and overcooked. Other meals were bland and unremarkable. 18 percent auto gratuity… for a party of 5 adults and three kids. Overall this was a wasted evening out. wished we had stayed home or gone elsewhere.

It was just okay. I’m glad we got there before the rush because I would have been truly disappointed with the experience if I had had to wait a long time too. The place was old and looked like it catered to an older crowd too. The menu reflected some of the same with bland or very fried food. It was a little too pricey for the quality of food, in my opinion. I ordered the $ 22 crab cakes. Out comes these two tiny little crab cakes and a baked potato. The quality of the crab was there but the portion was did not warrant a $ 22 price. The Caesar salad was nice. The sweet tea was nice. The cheesecake was very good. It was definitely worth the price and I would get it again. The redeeming quality was the service. She was so peppy and cute and awesome. She was great even though it was crowded. I wouldn’t put this place on my list of places to go on the island but apparently a ton of older folks really dig it. Food:3 Atmosphere:2 Cleanliness: 3 Service: 4 Value: 3 Total: 3

Very rude servers and hostess. Hush puppies are the only good thing. Everything is fried unless you ask otherwise and it all tastes the same. Like grease. Find another seafood place before you waste your money here!

We had a really good experience our first time here on the recommendation of a local(owner at Blue Crab Blue). Ten people in our party and it only took about 15 mins on a busy Thurs evening to be seated. There were other large parties and many booths and tables were full. Upon being seated the waiter took our drink order and hush puppies arrived, much to our surprise! They were really good and we tried not to devour them knowing a full meal was ahead. My wife an I split a Caesar salad and the shrimp & scallops pasta dish. Our waiter was terrific and brought us already split dishes of the salad and eventually the pasta… But each plate looked like a full dish! My kids were happy with their sizeable kids meal dishes and the rest of the family all had positive reviews of their dishes — Seafood combos, Stuffed shrimp, Flounder. The food tasted like it was freshly prepared. Our server even brought a large slice of chocolate cake for the kids to share at the end of the meal, without charge. Kudos to the guy who waited on us(sorry I don’t remember his name). There was a gratuity added to the bill because of our large party, but he certainly earned it PLUS the additional tip I left.

The food was alright but I probably wouldn’t come again. The staff was very nice but my waitress never came around much. I had to ask the hostess to get my waitress twice. The manager never once came around to see how everything was but instead SAT at the table next to me to talk to a friend for about 10 minutes. They didn’t have a big menu but I will say my steak and fried shrimp wasn’t to bad. Also many restaurant in the area were not open Tuesday after 8pm but Atlantic Seafood and Steaks was. Also If you do go there and get a Caesar salad ask for light dressing because I did not enjoy mine.

We visited Atlantic Seafood and Steaks after being turned away from a couple of restaurants on the Southport waterfront(2 hour wait times). Atlantic didn’t appear too crowded, so we decided to eat there. Despite low expectations, this place delivered even less than expected. The meal began with a basket of hot, fresh hushpuppies(yay!) served with some sort of processed chemical honey-margarine spread(boo!). The pups sans spread were delicious, though the meal began to go downhill quickly. The waiter appeared new to the restaurant, could not answer basic questions about the menu, and seemingly had no experience waiting tables. Drinks took forever to arrive, and he left us with the menus for far too long before taking our orders. The restaurant appeared adequately staffed, however. Our group of four ordered various seafood dishes, ranging from my stuffed flounder($ 20.50) to steak-and-lobster tail(market price — I believe it was $ 44.95). Each entrée was served with a starter salad and a side item. The stuffed flounder was not bad, very typical of what one would expect: broiled fish wrapped around stuffing, with a bit of crab meat thrown in. My friend who ordered the seafood platter($ 23.50) was very disappointed in the quantity on his plate(it was laughably small… more an appetizer portion than an entrée). Likewise, the lobster on the steak-and-lobster tail platter appeared to have died from starvation, leaving behind a tiny tail mostly composed of a thick shell with little meat. The steak was a bit overcooked, as well. During the meal, we noticed the manager made numerous trips to the dining room because of complaints about the food and the slow service. Indeed, it took 20 minutes to receive our check from the time we requested it, and another 30 to run our debit cards(the manager claimed the system was«down.») All-in-all, Atlantic Seafood and Steaks was not a repeatable experience.

I had Cajun shrimp added to a house salad with ranch dressing! Great taste, fresh and fast! Hush puppies were SO delicious. Humble service, over all great experience!

The service is quick and friendly, our waitress was extremely knowledgable about the menu and super endearing! She was a delight. The hush puppies were delicious and brought out very quickly, then our soup and salads followed! I got the salad with their homemade ranch dressing and it was excellent! For the entrée I got the shrimp Alfredo. It was full of flavor, the sauce was creamy and seasoned while the pasta was tender. The shrimp had a good texture, I loved it! We’ve had multiple positive experiences here, definitely check it out.

Had the skinless flounder special on Tuesday for $ 8. It was really good– lightly battered, and not too oily. Slaw was wonderful as well, but it was room temperature, something I have a pet peeve about, especially when it is in a pre-measured plastic cup. Sweet potato was my other side, and while the cinnamon-brown sugar-butter for it was yummy, the potato itself was very badly overcooked. Hush puppies were your standard grade, but, served room temperature. Cocktail sauce was unique, as it had seeds, skins, and chunks in it, with a strong vinegar base. It wasn’t the cocktail sauce I was expecting, so the verdict is still out as to whether it was good or not. While there, we were shown to a table, but asked the hostess for a booth before being seated. Only one of a dozen or so were occupied, the rest were dirty and empty. She implied she could not sit us there, but with only one three top and us there, it should not have been a problem, right? She was air headed and defensive about it. It takes thirty seconds to remove the glass from the table and spray it with their super strong bleach smelling spray. Service from my waitress was also less than stellar. Only came to take the order, deliver the food, and the check. No drink refills, etc. While waiting to be seated, two guys came in to do a to go order, one with a cast on his foot, barely able to walk. The hostess said they’d have to go to the other side of the building for takeout, as she couldn’t do it. The problem? The takeout area was hard to get to, and you could not drive up to it. She should have been a little accommodating since he had trouble walking. As a possible high schooler, the hostess has a lot of growing up and maturity to reach before she figures things out– something that detracts from the business. Despite the strong sickening bleach smell, that ruined my appetite, and the less than desirable hostess, and forgotten waitress, I’d return again in hopes of a better experience.
