I really really want to give this more than three stars. Their ice cream was delicious, and it’s such a nice little family-​owned shop.
My only two issues were the fact that
1) even though their hours are on the door, it’s still hit or miss. One night it said it closed at 8, and at 745 they were closed. Another night it was closed at 8, and it was 815 and it was still open. Extremely confusing.
2) our service was extremely slow. The girls serving were very sweet but being the only ones in line, it shouldn’t have taken more than 10 minutes to be acknowledge and served.
I love going to little «mom and pop» places, especially when I can give them good ratings, but this one I can’t. Their ice cream and food is delicious, but their service needs a little work.

Service was not very good when we were here. The ice cream was good, but the staff seemed finicky and pretentious. Our family of seven waited patiently next to the counter almost 10 full minutes before being acknowledged.
The wall of family pictures was a little creepy.
The ice cream was good. I wanted to try the pie, but it was crazy expensive for a slice.
When we were ultimately served, we were happy to bail outdoors.

We walked into town for a quick bite of dinner and stopped here. Small little place, a bit tight not a lot of seating here. I ordered the lobster stew and it was very good. My husband got crab cakes and really enjoyed them. Our friends got sandwiches and they were happy with them. The pie is really good. Everyone got blueberry but i was so happy to get the apple. It has a caramel pecan top and i thought i’d died and gone to heaven. The owners are very nice, friendly and seem genuinely concerned with the food and service.

Wonderful couple that run this little restaurant. It serves lunch that includes lobster rolls, chowdahs, fries, sandwiches and freshly baked goods. And of course a long list of ice creams with freshly baked pies. My friend and I had the lobster chowdah and fish chowdah. Both were good, the cup size was slightly small but that’s not the restaurant or our server’s fault. Our favorite part of the meal was our blueberry pie with blueberry ice cream. That is a must.
The owners let us come back after closing time to get a cup of chocolate ice cream and it was worth every bite. The food was great but the service was even more memorable.

Stopped here for lunch and could instantly see that this is a very popular place with the locals. One woman walking by the shop told us «they make everything here and it’s so good!»
Sandwiches — pulled pork + fries (special today), grilled ham & cheese, and a turkey pattymelt were all good — nothing super special, but fresh and hit the spot. What really stood out was the friendly service, the joy and interactions of the customers and the amazing apple pie!

My friend and I couldn’t wait to get the amazing-​looking pie from here… but then showed up at 6:45 pm on a sunday only to find that the store had closed at 4pm. We stood outside for a bit, disappointed, and we must have looked really sad because one of the staff came to the door and asked if we wanted pie to go. As this was 2 hours and 45 minutes after the shop had closed, we were shocked! And ecstatic. The pie was just as blissful as expected — the blueberry was mostly fruit with a light crust, and not too sweet. Perfection. My friend loved the apple pie with the pecan-​oatmeal topping. We wish we lived here so we could come all the time! Unbelievably kind staff and amazing pie!

ice cream was good but i felt like i had the same quality ice cream somewhere else.
However the blueberry pie is SUPER AMAZING. I dont like super sweet desert that i feel only thing i eat is sugar furthurmore hurt my teeth. this blueberry pie is just right seasoned and the blueberry jam is the best BEST BEST ONE I HAVE EVER HAD

Get the oatmeal Choc chip cookie and let them heat it up for you. Tastes like what grandma makes. My husband enjoyed a sundae for his birthday. We have a tradition of traveling on birthdays, but still try to get dessert with a candle. I asked an employee for a candle (that I was planning on quietly lighting and having my husband quietly make a wish) and, upon learning of the birthday, she said «give me that sundae!» & poured extra fudge on top before returning with a candle ridden sundae and a crew to sing happy birthday!

Lobster pizza was a unique treat… But the lobster flavor itself was lost in the strong Italian spices. The warm, out of the oven, oatmeal cookie was dreamy and delicious with a scoop of Maine blueberry ice cream!

Blueberry pie was not great. Lots of wild blueberries but the crust was soggy. Not sweet enough either. I got it with a scoop of ice cream (Giffords) which helped the pie taste better.

This was our favorite place on the entire island! The food was amazing. The lobster pizza and clam chowder were fantastic… seriously fantastic! The lobster roll, lobster stew, fish chowder, homemade blueberry pie, coconut macaroons, and assortment of ice cream were all very, very good too. We didn’t eat all that in one sitting. Although we were staying in Bar Harbor, we made the drive down to Southwest Harbor twice. We will definitely go there again the next time we visit Mount Desert Island.

Friendly spot in Southwest Harbor. Definitely worth a stop as you tool around the island your car, as we were doing. The monster-​size blueberry pie and ice cream really did the trick. You can travel down memory lane of the family that owns the place – like looking at someone’s photo album in their living room – while scarfing down their blueberry pie.

Cute little diner near a lot of the shops in the town. We stopped in for macaroons. They were AMAZING. Very good size, large in fact. Tasted very fresh and delicious. I would try to get those things shipped to Chicago if I can.

Great place–
Location puts it far enough away from the cruise ship terminal so you don’t get all the (literally) boatloads of tourists.
Staff are super friendly, especially the owners who made a point to say hello even though we were clearly visiting.
Food was fantastic — I had the minestrone soup and my partner had the fish and chips. Fish and chips had a bit more breading than we normally like but was still tasty.
Blueberry pie and ice cream were delicious.
Price is on the higher end of the spectrum for this type of operation, but still competitive. Remember most all of these places are seasonal and only have a finite period of time to make all their money for the year!
