I love this Big Y. Maybe its because I grew up in Southwick and this was my second job. The town itself is still a small farming town. Getting to the Big Y is pretty easy and the parking lot has plenty of spaces. There is plenty of room in the store to move around. The cashiers are very pleasant.

Love this store. Not only do they have possibly the nicest friendliest manager who works with her staff. Hey hire people with mental/physical disabilities. It’s wonderful to walk into a place and just see people enjoying their job. Big y always has what I’m looking for.

Five stars solely based on the superior quality of their raspberries. The Driscoll’s berries I bought last night were simply the best, firmest, sweetest berries I have had all year. Just perfect ! Let’s be honest. I really have no allegiance toward any supermarket chain. I go where the sales are. I have my choice of Stop and Shop, Shop Rite and Big Y where I live. I have bought berries at all 3 places that have ranged from average to mushy, limp, gelatinous mold that resembled a mad scientist project gone amuck. But coming back from running an errand in Springfield last night, we stopped at this Big Y up in Southwick, picked up a pint of the freaking best raspberries I have had in many a moon. Each one was a work of art. Seriously. Reminds me of an appropriate song: Baby, oh, I wanna be with you So bad(yeah, I wanna be with you) Oh, baby(oh, I wanna be with you) Oh, yeah(yeah, I wanna be with you) I Wanna Be With You –by the Raspberries Words and Music by Eric Carmen, 1972

Recently I filled out one of those«Complete this survey and you’ll be entered to win a $ 250 gift card». I usually just zip through these and don’t fill in any of the additional comment sections. However, I made a note on the last survey that I can never find the Full Circle frozen vegetables. They always have them on sale or a coin promotion, but I can never find them. I just assumed that the survey goes to a processing center in India, the data is thrown in a spreadsheet, and it becomes part of a Power Point presentation back at corporate. Believe it or not, but somebody from this location actually called me and left me a voicemail letting me know where I can find Full Circle frozen vegetables. The also made sure to mention that I can call back with any other questions, and if it wasn’t just a location issue, they’d try to get some stock in for me. I’m thrilled that this is the closest grocery store to me, because I’d otherwise feel compelled to drive from even further just to shop here.
