A1 Body Shop and RV Repair

I was quoted one price then was told they could not get a part that was in the quote and that the price would go up for the replacement part. I was told this one week after I dropped off my car. I’m held to the estimated price why aren’t they?
Also, the time for repairs went from 2 weeks to 6 to 8 weeks. I understand that there can be problems, but no one seemed to want to work this problem out with me.

Brought my travel trailer in to have the furnace repaired and the hydraulic line on the pop-​out motor replaced. The fellow at the counter, Joel, was very nice and helpful. The furnace repair went well but they estimated 3 hours at their shop rate of $ 120/​hr to change the hydraulic hose which I passed on. I needed a new freezer handle for my refrigerator and while my trailer was there I asked them to determine which one it was and told them I’d install it if there was a labor charge to do so. The part was uninstalled in a bag on the floor when I picked the unit up. They didn’t charge me the ½ hour labor to install the handle that was on the estimate at $ 120/​hr, instead I spent literally two minutes installing it and paid myself $ 30/​minute for my efforts. I checked the invoice when I got home and ran the part number for the handle on Amazon and found they charged me $ 46 for an OEM part that retails for $ 26 and is available on Amazon Prime for $ 20. Oh yeah, one other thing; after leaving A-​1 with my trailer after paying $ 650 for the furnace repair, I drove down the street ½ mile and stopped at Hose & Fittings, Etc., a company that makes hydraulic lines to order, and they replaced the fitting on the end of the leaky hydraulic line for $ 4.68! That saved me the $ 450 A-​1 was going to charge me which is a hundred to one return on my investment!
Long story short, they do what they say but be prepared, they are no bargain! I felt like they overbooked me on labor, for example ½ hr. at $ 60, to determine my hydraulic line was leaking right where I showed them it was leaking! For this type of experience I could never be loyal to this company and could never recommend them to anyone.

June, 2015, was a terrible month for us — who travel full time in our RV providing videography services for businesses who advertise on Unilocal (It’s a fun lifestyle for my wife and I) — but the windy weather coming across Eastern Nevada was wrought with peril.
Our right-​rear inside dully tire exploded and did over $ 5,000 damage. Then, after we limped into our RV Resort in Reno and got set up, a gust of wind snapped off our awning — another $ 3,500 worth of damage and another insurance claim.
We got off to a really rough start with A1, but after a change in personnel (a new GM) A1 was amazing!
When it comes to RV repair, A1 is really a one-​stop shop. Where they don’t do oil changes or engine mechanical, A1 is a full-​service collision and body shop able to do bumper to bumper and roof to floor RV repair.
They were able to mobilize a crew to repair both claims in only 4 days — a job that they said would usually have taken 10 days. Inasmuch as we live in our RV full-​time, A1 put us on a fast track to facilitate both repairs.
No company is perfect; however, the quality of a business is how they handle situations that go sideways. To that end, they are pretty amazing. Our RV is back on the road and looking like nothing ever happened. I couldn’t have asked for anything more for sure!
I hope you never need an RV Body Shop, but if you do, this is the place to go.

I just found out that my hood wouldnt open when I went to get an oil change. After taking it to the Ford dealership, and them not being able to fix it, I took it over to A1. I called and spoke to Dawn, and she was nice, and got me in right away. I gave Dawn my keys, and she had someone looking at it within minutes. She then called my within 30 mins to let me know what they needed to do, the parts then needed to get, and when it would be done. Abe did a great job!!! I will most definitely be going back!!! I REALLY recommend them.

I recently went back to have some more work done. Again, i give them my highest recommendation. Not only did they fix a leak in the shower and re-​caulked the shower, but they also fixed a leak that I tried without success to find in a storage area. When I went to pay the bill, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that all of the work was done under warranty, so I didn’t owe anything. These guys are extremely talented and honest and will only do the work that is necessary.

I hate that I come here because something went wrong out on the road. But if you have to come somewhere in a bad situation, A1 is the place to see.
My truck was rear ended earlier in the year. I went in and saw Dawn. She had me in and out with an estimate in less than 15 minutes. After I spoke to the other person’s insurance company, Dawn did all the rest with them. She got me in and out in less time for the repair than they said and the truck looked brand new still (it was before I got hit!).
Fast forward to last week and someone smashed a cart between my truck and theirs in a parking lot. No appointment needed for the estimate. I called and they said stop by. Again, in and out in 15 minutes. Still hunting down the guy who hit me and left, but as soon as I have his insurance info I will be back in.
It also helps that the family of owners here are awesome! Everyone I have done work with as been awesome. Jami, Scott, LoriAnn, Dawn… all fantastic!

Very Poor quality of service/​repair. If I could give Zero Stars I would. RV was not repaired or cleaned properly. Employees used trailer as a restroom/​break room leaving items inside. When I complained «manager» never called back to discuss. I Will never use this business again nor will I recommend it to anyone!

I took my car in to get a spoiler on my car installed. It took them one hour and twenty minutes, and they charged me for 2 hours of work. Then I go look at it, and it’s totally crooked. One side was over too far and the other side was a centimeter off showing down a straight line where it should have been lined up. They agreed to fix it and after another hour it was finally done. I got up this morning to see two cracks in the paint on the top of my spoiler due to them tightening two screws in too tight. After closer inspection, they decided to use two screws on each side when there was only one that came pre tapped for each side. They used different screws that didn’t even come with the spoiler. I’m livid right now and they are lucky it’s Saturday and they’re closed. I can’t wait for Monday morning…

Every time I see my car, I get sick to my stomach. You guys are terrible and your work is subpar and my car looks awful. The paint is already peeling off. If you’re considering using this shop, please run away and go literally anywhere else. The tweakers at the gas station will fix your car better than these fools.

This place is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! It was a nightmare having to work with these people! I will never ever take another car there again. I was having insurance work done and honestly I regret paying my deductible, my insurance provider Eric with State Farm has made a promise to not ever use this facility again. I only took my car here because while I was looking around for a facility time was huge… I only have one car and my 2012 black Camaro is my baby!!! So… They said they could have the work done in 2 to 3 days as most of the damage was done to my bumper and it wasn’t a huge amount of damage other places said anywhere from a week to two weeks. Well I called 2 days later and they said that my parts didn’t come in so it was going to be about a week, I understood. Then a week comes and goes and I hear nothing from them so I call well they had some other things come up and we’re just getting to my car, they called back later that afternoon and said it would be a few more days. Well this pattern went on for 22 days until I went in there and had to create a scene and bring my agent into the mess! Well after the 22 days my car still wasn’t finished and they were waiting for something I took the car angrier than who knows what and had them call when they got it. My car was covered in shop dust inside and out (black cars and dust are not friends I know but this was a layer you could draw pictures in on the seats) my floor mats went missing, there were small plastic parts that were missing (later they claim they got sucked up into the vacuum… Didn’t look like they even came near my car with a vacuum) all were replaced. There were horrific swirl marks and scratches on my entire car one major one across the gas tank cover. At this point I didn’t even want these people to look at my car any more. State Farm sent an adjuster to my house and she talked to the guy I was working with (Nick) and after he apologized for cussing at me and walking away from me as he said I was the worst customer in the world and for me to never come back, he replaced all my missing parts (which I had to go back multiple times to get once he ordered them) he agreed to fix the swirl marks and scratch… But he has not completed to do to this very day and it has been well over 5 months! A1 referred me to another shop to have the swirl marks in the paint job they did removed although that person said that they were not comfortable fixing A1s mistake as it happens often and they did not want it to come back on them. So I have a car with several imperfections thanks to this shop! DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING HERE! It will be a nightmare… Oh and that lady on the recording they play when they out you on hold talks about how great it was and how she travels here just to have them work on her RV I wish I knew what business she was talking so highly about… It’s not A1!

Don’t ever take a vehicle here. My car was damaged and they had it for over 60 days. They would call me every couple weeks saying it was finished and they call me when I could pick it up, then wouldn’t call for days. When I finally got it back after 6k$ it wasn’t fixed at all. Unprofessional, disorganized, and will never recommend them to any one ever.

I was very disappointed with A1’s quality of work, durability of materials and customer service. I do not recommend this body shop.

This is the best RV repair facility that I have ever done business with. A support leg on my 5^th wheel trailer failed. Over the phone they diagnosed the problem, then ordered the part. Six days later the part arrived. I then brought my rig to them and in less than an hour the leg was repaired and I was on my way. All the staff was courteous and professional and did the job with a smile. I will go back to them again if I ever need any repair work done on my RV. They are A1.

I took my rv to this place to fix, they told me it would only be 3 – 4 weeks 3 months later I got it back and all they did was fix 3 minor things, upon getting it back I get it home to find a hole in the wood of where my dinette is now i have to waste more of my time to take it in and have them fix it !! I would recommend taking yours else where

I’ll preface this by saying our vehicle broke down on a trip and did not have an appointment; however, we specifically requested that if they did not have the time or hands to fix it we would be fine going elsewhere. They assured us they had time. We both had to be at work the next day. DO NOT come here if you’re looking for speedy service. We went here based off previous reviews and were very let down. We had dropped our vehicle off Monday night and they ignored us for an entire day Tuesday when we called at 9:00 am letting them know we were from out of town they said they would «take a look.» We called back three times throughout the afternoon and were hung up on and then calls went straight through to an internet tone. We were forced to spend a second night at a hotel and when we called at 8:00 am Wednesday morning we were told we would be given a call back with an «update» and AGAIN heard nothing back so called back within the next hour and finally got through to someone saying it would only take two or three hours. It is now seven hours later and they’re blaming it on a lunch break. We had a second problem due to the tow company messing up our c-​bracket when they disconnected the drive and the part was right across the street at NAPA parts and when we arrived they told us it would be $ 57 for a half hour labor and they were still waiting on the parts. We walked out to the lot to find the new parts sitting on the hood of the car and when my partner said he could connect it himself all of the sudden someone appeared and fixed it in 5 minutes. We were clearly not a priority. I guess we should have taken our first hint when the man that towed us here said in his 35 years of working here he’s never heard of the place. SAVE yourself the money and headache and search for someone else to help you out.

I’ve had many good dealings with A-​1 and recommend them often. I have an Arctic Fox camper and love it.

I have been dealing with A1 for almost 2 years now. While I have never had a vehicle or RV repaired by then (knock on wood), I do computer work for them. I have spent a fair amount of time as a fly on the wall in both the Body Shop and RV sales locations.
I have to say these guys really try to do what is right for the customer. What goes on after the customer leaves is just as honorable as what goes on in front of them. I wish I could say the same for all my clients…
If you need body work or your RV repaired I can recommend them without reservation.

Took my 5^th wheel in this October to have A-​1 perform some needed manufacturer warranty work. Tom was waiting for me when I arrived on schedule and he called the factory as he said he would.
During the 4 days they had my trailer, Tom called at least once a day with updates and progress reports. I’ve never had that much attention from vehicle service before. Tom successfully cured my fresh water-​tank problem and did another minor repair. When I arrived to pick up the trailer he had me jump on a ‘creeper’ dolly and slide under the rig to check out his repairs.
A fine job. I’ll recommend them and go back again.

Came in to have a light fixed that had caught on fire in my Dunesport. I explained the problem and they had the part and solution. Maybe they should be on the design team at Dunesport. They did the job fast and correctly. I would go back.

We have taken our RV there twice now. Great service, prompt and trustworthy.
It is not the type of place that you need to worry about paying for something you never needed. Tom is great to deal with and never seems like you are putting him out.
Hoping my RV troubles are behind me now, but will go back to A-​1 if needed.
