Every time we visit Reno, we have to eat at Grimaldi’s atleast once if not more. Authentic New York style pizza in a very comfortable and modern setting. I see other reviewers complain about customer service but we have not experience any bad service after dining there many times over. Absolutely delicious pizza with a pretty decent beer selection!

I love this place, but every time I come here the service is horrible. The waiters literally stand there and are not attentive.

Yum. That’s all I got to say. Actually no, I got a little bit more. Like, our server at the bar was super friendly. We went on a busy Saturday night and was attempting to get served before our movie. Our server being honest, told us it would be cutting it close. Well truth be told, I only got one slice in before I ran the rest to my car to preserve for later lol but it was the most delicious one slice of pizza I ever ate. Oh it’s also the the most expensive. Adding an extra topping ranged from like $ 2 to $ 5, I believe. So if you want the best pizza on a budget, just stick to their creations otherwise you’re going to be paying for it. Also make sure you have patience as this place gets busy and can take a while.

Peter and I grabbed some pizza after seeing a movie. We have been here before and love there pizza. We ordered the pepperoni, sausage and mushroom. A small is big enough for two. The cheese was very stretchy and fresh. The crust is thin, ny style. Love there pizza, we will be back.

Best thin crust Brooklyn pizza in this area. Small menu but very effective. Great ambience. Feels like ny. Nicest thing is they don’t allow you californians to put ranch dressing on their pizza. If you wack jobs did that in nyc you’d been thrown into the east river. Do that back in LALA land not here

No question! Grimaldis pizza, staff, location, and ambiance are perfect for date night, family night, or any night! We love the pepperoni, mushroom, black olive, with the most amazing ricotta cheese!

Love this place! We eat here very often. Customer service is great every time. We had a misunderstanding one time about toppings, however it was fixed immediately and discounted for inconvenience. Management Giovianna was awesome! Great job everyone! This is why we keep coming back, because I know we will be taken care of.

I LOVE this place. I have never been disappointed here. The pizza is super thin crust, but with a good crunch in the crust. Normally I split a pizza with my boyfriend, but this time we got separate ones because he likes his extra crispy. I got the personal size and it was more then enough. The sizes are large here! The pizza isn’t drenched with cheese or sauce it’s more on the light side. The salads tasty, but also on the larger side. To end the night the desserts are good, but I also feel like you can never go wrong with dessert.

Awesome atmosphere and great pizza! Great for date night or out with the kids(they will even give them pizza dough to play with to keep them happy). The house salad is amazing! I love coming here for the lunch specials(a personal pizza, salad AND a drink for under $ 10!). I was never a fan or brick oven pizza before but they have changed my mind :)

Was working in Sparks for the week and made a pit stop here for lunch after a recommendation to try it out. I wish there was one of these close to home I would be a regular. The staff is great. They do a phenomenal job of explaining the menu and how to order a pizza to your liking. They have a great lunch menu which is perfect for buying a salad/pizza individually. If you like good pizza you must come here.

This was my first visit, the wait wasn’t to bad but I came in early. They had plenty of seating, plenty of staff to help you… the server still acted swamped and only showed up 2 times to the table. The pizza looked amazing, I was disappointed to find the bottom of the pie burned =( All in all I am going to say I am not a huge fan. I had less the great service, burned pizza, and paid a premium price for that. My bill was over 30 bucks for a burned pizza and one beer. I hope that I just came on an off day. I will give them a second chance at redemption! I will update my review let you all know how the second visit went. Unilocal on my friends!

We ordered two pizzas, The Don(meatballs, sausage, and pepperoni) and a build-your-own topped with meatballs, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, and sundried tomatoes. For the build-your-own pizzas, you’re charged per topping and the price of each topping, which I expected, but the prices are really inflated. $ 4 for meatballs, $ 4 sun dried tomatoes, $ 3 for kalamata olives, and $ 4 for artichoke hearts. I can buy a whole jar of sun dried tomatoes or olives or artichoke hearts for less than that. I really, really wish I read the menu closer when I created this pizza. That being said, it was a really delicious combination and I actually liked it more than The Don. Their pizza sizes are odd. What you would think of as a medium(16″) at pretty much any other pizza place is actually their small. Ordering two«small» pizzas obviously meant we had plenty to take home for late night snacks and/or lunch the next day. With a couple of drinks each, two«small» pizzas, and tip, I think we had about a $ 90 dinner. Hands down the most expensive pizza dinner I’ve ever had. I think the food was delicious, but I honestly don’t think I can justify that price again. Or maybe I should stick with one small or a couple personal sized(12″) if I want a little variety?

Was recommended to this place by some friends and it didn’t disappoint. The ambience was lovely, the server was helpful and friendly, and the music was a perfect complement. We ended up building a pizza with meatballs, bacon, mushrooms, and green peppers on one half and the Brooklyn Bridge toppings on the other half. Instead of the traditional sauce we went with pesto and made for an interesting delicious pizza. Ended it with an Oreo Cheesecake that was moist and flavorful. Overall it was a great first time experience on a busy Sunday!

I love the pizza here. Love love love. We always get a large pizza and a small Caesar salad and it is perfect. We only get the large so we can have leftovers. The ambiance inside is very nice and comfortable. They cook the pizza in a super hot brick oven with hot coals, and the pizza does not take long at all to cook. I imagine it’s because it gets so hot! My favorite part of the pizza is the texture of the cheese. This may seem weird, but it reminds me of a toasted marshmallow. So good! They can accommodate large parties, which is great. I had my bridal shower here and it was awesome. Worked out perfectly! Tuesday they have ½ price wine! It is a bit pricey. If you add a ton of toppings to your pizza, it could get crazy expensive. However, I think the food is worth the money.

It’s one of the few places in town you can get a white pizza, making it one of our go-to choices! White pizza, ricotta, spinach, sausage – that’s our order and we’re sticking to it! Also, the Caesar salad is really good, AND they have cannoli – not the greatest cannoli or anything, but Italian pastries are a pretty rare commodity in this town, so you take what you can get. It’s convenient, comfortable, and delicious. It may be a chain, but they’re doing good work, so I won’t begrudge them my money or my stars!

First thing I noticed walking up was half price wine on Tuesdays! Then I realized… #Pizza on the #Whole30? What the heck was I thinking coming here? Well, that’s exactly it. At the time I planned this exciting lunch meeting, I wasn’t thinking about my diet. Nevertheless, I was confident that Id be able to stay on the path and find something that would fit the requirements. Now service alone will bring me back for pizza in the future. I had a lot of questions to ask, and the server was more than happy to answer them or get the answers to make sure I was comfortable in my decisions. He was attentive and made the experience really nice. This being a pizza joint, I thought my options might be limited, but I didn’t realize just how limited they’d be. On the non-pizza front there were only a few appetizers on the menu and a few salads. I ordered the house salad, which came with fresh spring greens, red onion, tomatoes, and roasted red peppers, to which I added grilled chicken and salami. The veggies were fresh and crisp, the roasted red peppers were awesome, the size of the salad was very nice(and I had the small), but the chicken left something to be desired. It reminded me of the pre sliced«grilled chicken breast» that you get in a plastic package at the store with the rubbery texture and artificial grilled flavor. I figured I’d get a nice grilled chicken breast. My companion had a beautiful lunch special with a nice looking pizza and a smaller salad. I was very jealous of the pizza, and just looking at it made me want to return for some in the future. Heck, Tuesday’s are Wine Tasting Tuesday when glasses and bottles are half off! Yep. That fact is so nice I said it twice! Pizza party soon!

Stopped by with a bunch of hungry friends for some grub togo, but we decided to stay since it was so nice and quaint in the restaurant. They only had a few preset pizzas on the menu. It’s so much more fun to build your own though. My group got white garlic with pesto, mushroom, jalapeño, sun dried tomatoes and sausage on one half. The pizza was delicious, although not as greasy as I usually like my pizza. I’m sure other people would really appreciate it not being greasy though. The pesto went really went with everything, and tied it altogether. The only thing about the pizza was that the crust was too chewy. We also tried their house salad, and that was good as well, very fresh ingredients! The service was here was top-notch, and it made our experience here all the more better. If I was in town, I would definitely try to stop by again.

I’ve been reading about Grimaldi’s, and even seen the Brooklyn owner on the Cooking Channel, so naturally, after taking in a movie at the Galaxy theaters, we had to check it out with two of our good friends. I have to say we weren’t disappointed. First off, if you’re not in the mood for pizza, this isn’t your place. They only offer pizza, calzones, and their idea of «appetizers» are salads, so be forewarned. However, their pizzas are the bomb! They have a coal-fired oven, just like the original Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn,(how are we in Reno so lucky to get a Grimaldi’s?), and it really makes a difference. I’ve never had a crust like this, thin, crispy, and oh so flavorful. As Guy Fieti says, you could put this crust on a flip flop, and it would taste good! But, I digress. The menu is pretty straighforward, once they explain it to you. There are three basic pizzas, red, white, and pesto, and then you pick the toppings you want, from a list of what seems like endless toppings of meats, cheeses, and veggies. They also have four of their own famous combos, along with some calzones you can fill with the same list of ingredients, and a few salads. That’s it, along with some desserts. While the menu may seem simple, it can take awhile to figure out just what you want. I went with the quatro frommaggio, along with black olives. My husband got the Don,(all meat) along with garlic, onions, and mushrooms. Our friends got a pizza with some meats, cheeses, and pepparoni, and a calzone with cheeses and meats. The calzone was so big, it couldn’t fit on the plate, and the pizzas are so big, they could have fed all four of us with ease! Even my personal pizza was way to big for me to eat. I ate two pieces and brought the rest home for at least one more dinner and probably two. The only reason I didn’t give Grimaldi’s five stars, as this was no doubt the best pizza I’ve ever had, was the price. It was also the most expensive pizza I’ve ever had. Now, the ingredients were excellent. The cheeses in mine were top notch. The gorgonzla was so good, I wanted to cry, and the pepparoni on my husband’s was so good, I kept snitching it, it wasn’t salty like every pepparoni I’ve ever had. However, that said, I wouldn’t run to Grimaldi’s every day for pizza, it’s just too expensive. The ambiance is quaint and appealing, I loved the old-time photos of New York, and the wine bottle chandeliers, and Rachel, our server, was the best. She boxed up our leftovers and made sure that we got ours, and our friends got theirs, and nothing got mixed up, and she was so attentive with refills, which I so appreciate, that we made sure to thank her with a good tip. In fact, the whole staff was really attentive and friendly, it was an excellent experience. We even got to see them restocking the coal for the ovens, which was so cool! All in all, Grimaldi’s is on our list for another pizza, we’ll just have to save up for it!
