I was a patient here from age 8 through adulthood and Dr. Austin was my first dentist. Dr. Austin is now retired as he’s near 80 years old, and I now bring our two little ones to Dr. Austin’s office and it is still great! The office is a very kid-friendly office, the Dental staff is warm, professional and great with our children. The front desk staff could use some improvement because of one«bad apple» meaning one consistently short-tempered front desk person who however, doesn’t effect our children’s treatment because the kids never interact with the front desk, thank goodness! Our children now love going to the dentist! Their dentist, Dr. Chan, is outstanding! He’s very caring, attentive, patient and warm. I’m so happy that we dropped HAWC, now called The Community Health Alliance, and returned to Dr. Austin’s office for our children. Another satisfied generation of Dr. Austin patients!

We’ve been here twice so far and have had pretty good experiences both times. Not 5 star, but good experiences. The first time we went in we saw the female dentist. She was fairly new. She diagnosed my daughter with two extra front teeth. She wasn’t very knowledgable about the condition or the treatment. I wasn’t very impressed but I really loved the dental tech and the way that the tech made the experience fun. I cannot remember her name but she is the reason to go here and to come back. She’s very knowledgable and she is wonderful with kids. Today, we saw another dentist(not Dr. Austin). He was alright. The visit with him was quick. We had morning appointments both visits so we didn’t have to wait much. I will be bringing my kids here until I feel like they’re old enough to go to a normal dentist.

Initial disclaimer: As Nancy P. stated, we too did not see Dr. Lloyd, but rather one of his associates, Dr. Mary Ann Michael. She was a lovely dentist and had great bedside manner with our 3 year old daughter. I would recommend her, and the other medical staff as well(xray tech, dental assistant), without doubt. However, I could not say the same of the front desk staff. That said, the waiting area was very comfortable and had a fun assortment of arcade style games. The wait seemed shorter than average. The medical staff worked gently and only did what my daughter was comfortable with(so that the dentist could remain an enjoyable experience until she’s old enough to handle more). Appointment scheduling was quick and easy. And pricing was average, based on quotes I received from several others. Overall, nothing to call home about, and nothing to regret.

brought my 3yr old grandson to this dentist as our insurance covered it and was referred by a family friend. the office itself is nice with many video games for the older kids. but not a lot of things for the younger kids to keep them occupied during the long wait to see the dentist. then we were put into an extremely cramped, dark and kind of scary waiting exam room. then we had to hold a very wiggly and strong child while they did the exams. he had to be sedated just to get x-rays and because he needed extensive dental work but they felt they couldn’t sedate him enough, he had to go to a surgical center to have all his work done and not even by dr austin. we never actually saw dr austin, but an associate of his. the staff wasn’t understanding of a hyperactive child, they had problems with billing our insurance and medicaid as secondary insurance. we found a better dentist in the smile shop in reno.
