I don’t even know where to start. Upon checking in, I was told I had to pay a copay — which is totally fine– but in a world with HRA plans at the beginning of the calendar year and insurance plans that pay 100%, I advised my insurance would pay in full. The gal advised me that it was the doctor’s policy to collect a copay whether they have one or not, and then said«if you don’t agree with it, you can not be seen and pay the $ 25 no-show cancel fee instead.» I completely understand being precautionary and the doctor collecting the coinsurance upfront — but the staff should be encouraged to show a little bit of empathy and not be snarky and rude on a patient’s first visit(or any visit!) We saw the doctor for a total of 5 minutes… Within 5 minutes of the appointment time — which is what justifies even 1 star– but then were told we had to stand in a narrow hallway to check-out. There was a line with 2 people ahead of us to check out. We were not acknowledged by anyone — other than other workers asking us to move out of their way so they could bring patients from the waiting room to the exam rooms. After TWENTYMINUTES of employees avoiding the checkout line — and not being acknowledged and having employees avoid eye contact — I finally walked out. This prompted the check out lady to run out the door chasing me to get my paperwork. She apologized for our bad experience — which also supports the single star rating… If I could have rated zero stars, I would have. I waited 3 weeks for this appointment and will not be returning. Tip to the doctors: your office staff is clearly under appreciated and have zero expectations for providing customer service. Empathy and acknowledgement go far in this world. And I will drive across town to another doctor that’s not as convenient to avoid ever stepping in your office again.

The worst medical experience of my life. I have had extreme fatigue, reoccurring rashes, and pain and swelling in my joints and limbs since September. Dr. Lokshin did not listen to me discuss these problems. He said it is probably sleep apnea due to my hay fever(which started a week ago). He also ordered an asthma test(which I have been diagnosed with for years and am successfully treated for) and a test for a kiwi allergy(which I was diagnosed with 10 years ago along with about 20 other foods and have not eaten since). I will not be returning.

This is my third allergist in Reno. This guy is super smart and up on all the latest studies. He is a great doctor.

So Worth it. Love this doctor — so patient, thorough and accommodating. Really, he’s everything we could want in a doctor. The exact opposite can be said of the receptionist, but as she is not there to provide care I can ignore her. :-)

I was a patient of Dr. Lokshin’s for 10 years. Unfortunately, I ended up moving out of the area and had to find a new allergist… a very sad day, that was! I began seeing Dr. Lokshin on a previous doctor’s recommendation in 1996. I have allergies and asthma, and was also wanting to begin allergy shots for pet dander. I was impressed from my first visit with Dr. Lokshin’s quiet competence; he asked many questions to ensure that I would receive the best care tailored to my needs. Over the years, my asthma and allergies remained under control with the occasional tweak to my regimen. If a medication wasn’t working for me, he made sure to find a suitable alternative. This is a doctor who most definitely makes his patient’s individual needs and care his utmost priority and this shows in his demeanor and prescribed care. I would highly recommend Dr. Lokshin to my family and friends. If you’re in Reno/Sparks and need an allergist, make an appointment with him today!
