Fun evening with excellent people, great beer and good food. I am a big fan of «Icky» but decided to try something else. I had the Wild Horse Ale and the Pogonip Pilsner. Both were good. Our waitresses did a great job of keeping up with our large group. I really appreciated their making an announcement right before happy hour was up so we could order another round. The food was OK — we ordered the Molten Cheese Lava Loaf. The bread is very good but it would have been better with a bit more Molten Cheese and a little less bread. Paul, as usual, did a fantastic job of organizing the event and getting the word out to all of us. I am looking forward to the next Beer Club!

I was hopping beery hard for a yeasty affair that was not watered down. Paul’s beer club never malts to disappoint, and I managed to mangle every ingredient of Icky into this. I had a great time, greatly assisted by the company, conversation, and beer. Beer makes everything better.

We love Great Basin and it’s a staple for us for the«usuals» I always eat when we come here. The kid had the black and blue burger, which is always good. I had the Mac and cheese, as always, a little heavy on the bacon for me, I know that’s blasphemy right? I had the death by chocolate stout, disappointed they no longer offer the berry cider on tap and the had no bottles(the mix of that cider and stout is amazing! Met some great new people, getting to know some familiar faces(Nancy and Robert V. — Paul and Michelle S. Other happy Unilocalers couples) Thanks for organizing this Paul! Can’t wait for April’s event…

Good job to all the staff who waited on us, we straggled in late, a large and then larger group, and yet they were so accommodating. Always doing their best to ensure our beverages were full and we were happy. Smiling on the inside and out they were wonderful hosts without being overbearing; affording us room to talk and ensuring our needs were met as well. Bravo! Food was good and consistent in quality, given that it was the dinner hour and they’d become very busy; despite this they persevered and I believe we all left content and happy. Good job to Paul S. putting this together and as an engaging host, as well as many of the others there conversing with and making us «newbies» feel welcome. We had a great time! I’ve been a happy fairly regular customer and would definitely return with a larger party comfortable in their hospitality and of course the beer.

Another great evening with Unilocal friends, chatting, sharing a beer and some food. I had a Nevada Gold beer. It was quite tasty. It was a lighter beer, not very hoppy and refreshing. For food I had the grilled cheese sandwich with avocado added and regular French fries. I have to say that the sandwich was just«okay». I do not think I would order it again. Now I am a lover of bread and cheese — however, they put a crazy amount of cream cheese in this sandwich. It truly was like eating just bread with cream cheese. There was other cheese in there but I couldn’t taste it or tell you where it was. All in all a super fun night! It is always so nice to get to sit and chat with fellow Unilocalers. Thanks Paul, another great UYE!

March 26, 2015 Thursday 5:30PM dinner and drinks Atmosphere — 5 stars Food — 4 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Time have another UYE Beer Club. Tonight it was at the original brew pub for Reno Sparks. Atmosphere — A little out dated but still very comfortable. But really it is all about meeting up with all your friends. It is always great to hang out with people that love beer and are learning what the different types are. Food Drinks — It is stout month and I had two different ones. The Imperial Russian Stout was served in a tulip glass, but do not let that fool you. It was very strong. Main Course — I had the tri-tip sandwich. The tri-tip was covered with chimichurri sauce which was excellent but the bread failed me. Which is surprising as the bread is usually so good here. Service — We had a long table and they were able to break up the bill to individual needs which is so handy. Thank you. Both servers did an excellent job. Future — I would love too, as this a staple in my life.
