If you are looking to go local with your meats and don’t mind driving 30 mins North — GOCHECKTHISPLACEOUT! It’s a small shop in the basement of house… that sounds kinda creepy hahaha so let’s try again… when you pull up you will drive down to the house where there is parking. There is a separate door to the store. I believe it is only open Friday-Sunday until 5pm. Everything is done on site. We usually get chicken breast, chicken sausage, turkey sausage, and turkey breast. They literally have EVERYTHING. A few times we have gotten steaks, ground beef, breakfast meats, etc. Almost every time we buy fresh eggs. The Dark Chocolate Milk is MUSTHAVE. I seriously do not know anywhere else that sells it. There has literally been times where we buy one just for the drive and second for later the week. It is literally that amazzzzzing! This trip bought some chocolate fudge brownie ice cream and lamb sausage(Worth it!). We try to buy fresh local ingredients as much as possible. Particularly in the summer, we will do the Farmer’s Market under Route 83 and follow up with a ride out to Springfield Farms if we are out of meats. Just remember fresh, local meat will be more expensive than your typical grocery store. We will buy enough meat that will last two weeks or more so we are not driving out every week. We usually spend around $ 60 – 100 on meats. Which isn’t that bad when you take into account 2 – 4 weeks worth of meat. Also, I should mention we try not have meat in every meal. Totally worth it! Enjoy!
