Todd Byrns Handyman and Cleaning Service

COMPLETE disaster. When told that he was collecting a series of bad reviews, Todd’s response was «I don’t care.» When I pointed out that this couldn’t be good for business, he replied «I have a 140 IQ, people just like to complain» (not true, check out the google review I posted for The Doorman earlier today). My experience was similar to the others you can find on this site. He quoted $ 2.99 sqft to lay tile, but after he got ¹⁄₃ of the way through, he told me he wanted $ 3.99 or would walk off the job. I had to get the job finished in 3 days, so had no choice but to give in to the extortion. In the end, it didn’t matter. For a job that he estimated to take 3 days, Todd finally finished 15 days after he started. During that time, he was supposed to finish while I was out of town for a week, but to my surprise, the (3 day) job still wasn’t finished by the time I returned. At least he did a good job, right? Sorry to say, no. He was in such a rush on the last day that he grouted tile that had just been freshly set — which resulted in the grout cracking immediately. He said he’d repair it though — for an extra charge. Need more stories of unprofessionalism? How about using my tools, then not cleaning them up – despite being asked. How about cutting tile INSIDE the house while I was gone — despite being explicitly told NOT to do this (the result was a trip to the emergency room for my daughter, who cut her foot on a tile shard. Not to mention duest everywhere and holes in the wall). He didn’t remove the scrap, added in a phantom $ 50 material charge, and gave me (no kidding) nine DIFFERENT invoices during the project. Thank god he has a 140 IQ. I hate to think of what would have happened if I had hired an idiot.

This guy is a scam. He never finished any work and kept asking for more money.
