As others have indicated the views of the bay are excellent. Just boat launch next door. Food was good, service was prompt and courteous. Dined in Sunday afternoon before Labor Day wasn’t too crowded. The crab cakes were very good not too much stuffing. Crab dip was so so, too much sour cream not enough crab

I went on $ 2 crab night. Which under the previous owner was great. This time I ordered 12 crabs. I sent back 7! 2 smelled so bad everyone around me was grossed out. The other 5 were just bad. I think they were steaming dead crabs. Also it was not busy, which should have told us ! usually crabs are big in our area.

We just recently discovered this gem located on Millers Island. The location and the view are perfect. The food is even better. Check out the crab cake club sandwich and the Snickers cake. Both will make you want to return for more. The staff is friendly and makes everyone feel welcome It’s well worth the drive to get there

Went there for dinner and drinks, ordered there staple dinners(chicken with crab and a big burger) food was hot when we received it, server was sweet. Beer selection was good for Dundalk. Nice views, a little dirty but got there shortly after dinner rush. I will go back to order something else. All in all not bad for the price.

Sat there for 15 minutes and after asking the hostess, we were told the waitress would be with us «soon.» We left and went to Costas’ Inn. Good food never makes up for poor service.

Wow. maybe the previous reviews are a different restaurant. Certainly not our experience. We stumbled upon Dock of the Bay when looking for somewhere new to go for Father’s Day dinner since the kids were busy and it was just the Hubby and I. So glad we went here! We sat at the outside bar. Marnie is the absolute best bartender! Courteous, amicable, attentive. I had the Tuna(rare) with Baked Potato and Cucumber salad. Tuna was perfect! Hubby had the Salmon in puff pastry… amazing! We have been back several times… a couple times for crabs… never disappointed(see pics!), Pit ham sandwich, calamari was perfect both times we ordered it, Chicken tenders were great(fresh not frozen with panko style coating), white Rueben — out of this world… and the three musketeers cake? Words can’t describe. We call ahead to reserve an outside table if our party will be more than the two of us. Each server we have had has been friendly, attentive, and efficient. Nice view, nice people, good food? Will continue to frequent this establishment!

Sitting at the dock if the bay now and all I can say is the worst service and food I have had in a long time at a restaurant. The Maryland crab soup look like and tasted like thick vegetable soup. How can you screw up kids meals. Worst grill cheese and chicken tenders were horrible. The calamari was fried in fish oil. At least it tasted like that. The steamed shrimp had no old bay. Come on!!! We are in Maryland. How could you screw that up too. Please don’t waste your time or money. Only good thing is a playground for the kids.

Ok we tried Dock of the Bay again. Our last visit was disappointing because of the poor service. The service on this visit was even worse. Our server took our order and it was a half an hour before we saw her again. She brought our food then disappeared again. We finally got her attention to get our check then it was a half hour before we saw her again. She never came back to our table, my wife had to go and find her. The restaurant is in a nice location with nice views. The food is good but the service is the worst.

I wanted to rate this place higher, I really did. There’s not a lot of places on the water to stop for a meal. That being said, the atmosphere was right on for a place on the water. The food was acceptable, but not exceptional and the service was subpar. For a meal for two, we had to ask for napkins, silverware, tartar sauce, mayonnaise and water. We’ll probably give it another chance later this summer; but I don’t see it becoming a favorite.

Ate here on Friday for lunch. Sat outside and enjoyed an incredible view of the lighthouse and the eastern shore. May be the best view in all of Baltimore. I ordered an Ahi Tuna sandwich, medium rare, blackened on a roll. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly and came with house-made chips. My friend had a soft shell wrap which he enjoyed. In prior visits, I’ve had the crab pretzel, fried oysters, burgers and pastas — each have been delicious. Food and service seems to better with each visit. Perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon with the family.

Crab cakes were horrible, all filler and very little crab meat. Said jumbo lump, definitely not. Service was very good but food sucked.

Had some the best crab cakes we’ve had on the bay. Smiles and full bellies around the table. Difinetly worth the trip off the beaten path. Can’t wait to go back in the warm months by boat. Pretty good Bloodys as well. Only regret. forgot to buy a shirt.

We went their last night, and was very disappointed in the food. This place used to be fantastic, They closed over a year ago and opened under new owners and management. The food is definitely not as tasty and delicious as the previous owners. We were very disappointed. The burgers and chicken salad were bland. The salad was a complete disappointment. There were shells in the crab soup. Not sure if we will go back and try again and pray it is better.

Hold the phone! This place is the bomb dot com, the cream of the crop, the Pièce de résistance… You get the picture by now. New and improved with superb service and mouthwatering dishes. The drink menu speaks for itself. Don’t miss out my friends! They just reopened on October 9th, yet the food we had was out of this World! The loaded dock fries were a real surprise. Not your average fries! They were half moon shaped, fresh cut topped with lots of bacon, scallion and cheddar melted over top! Yum! The hot wings & the shrimp salad served on a kaiser roll with fresh kettle chips was outstanding! I had the Bourbon Pulled Pork BBQ. Great stuff! All of the food served was fresh & plentiful in quantity. The service was speedy & attentive. We sat on the outside wrap around deck. What a gorgeous view of the lighthouse and the bay!

OK — I gave Dock of the Bay 2 stars primarily for their location. The view is stunning and they have plenty of outdoor seating with a boat dock. That alone warrants 2 stars. That unfortunately is all that Dock of the Bay has going for itself. The biggest problem… THEFOOD! Nothing, and I mean NOTHING on the menu is FRESH. The crab used in their crab salad, crab cakes and soups is CANNED! Are you kidding me? How can you be in the heart of Millers Island on the Chesapeake Bay for Pete’s sake and use CANNEDCRABMEAT? Hey Chef, what happens to your left over crabs on $ 1.50 crab night… put your staff to task and start picking those babies and you’d have no need to ever use canned meat again! Burger Patty = FROZEN Lady Baltimore Sandwich = FROZEN ingredients Crab Pretzel = PRE-MADE and stored in the walk-in…WHAT?!? The menu is too large. Trimming down the menu and starting to use fresh local produce and seafood would be a great place to start. The staff is primarily very young. Many waiters/waitresses appear to be college students. Not to discount their efforts, but I would say that the two older ladies on the waitstaff ran circles around the younger ones. Another downside — LACKOFAIRCONDITIONING. This place can get sweltering on a hot summer day. I have been there when there is NOACATALL. The owner yelled at his waitstaff for taking a break to get a drink of water… seriously these girls looked like they were going to pass out. He even yelled at one of the expediters for«fanning herself» because it looked«bad to the customers»…yeah — because if it weren’t for that girl fanning herself we never would have known it was HOT in there! Get a clue! This place really would be a gold mine and a foodie favorite in the hands of knowledgeable and for-thinking management/ownership with a skilled chef! Right now — sorry to say, Dock of the Bay has NEITHER!

We love Dock of the Bay! Great food and drinks. The view is fantastic on a clear spring/summer/fall day– how can you go wrong?

NOTE: Review only for drinks, not food. Whole place felt a bit dirty to me. They did have a sizable outdoor deck, right on the water and a comfortable bar inside. Seemed to be filled with locals having late afternoon drinks. Obviously has many fans. But me, I will be at the cute and bright tiki bar next door.

When I first walked into the restaurant and heard Bön Jovi playing on the sound system I knew I was going to like the place. Add to that outdoor seating on the boat dock right on the bay and I knew I had found a true locals favorite where I was going to enjoy as much crab as possible. The rumour is that in the summer time people dock their boats from all over on the restaurants boat dock and let the festivities begin! Miller’s Island is still unknown to many people… even those who live 20 minutes away in Baltimore. For lunch one day I had grilled romaine lettuce(yes, that is right, grilled lettuce) with crab and tomatoes. Fresh, with distinct tastes that sent joy to my tongue. Another night I had muscles and whole crabs covered in finger lickin’ good spices with my new favorite beer: Blue Moon, which is served with a slice of orange. The wait staff is young, personable and they tend to acrue regulars. I’m looking forward to going back again and again and again…
