Way out in rural Wisconsin lies a cemetery of fiberglass statues, hundreds of them. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen! On a field adjacent to the F.A.S.T. factory lies piles of nostalgic shapes: from milk jugs, to skulls, to the Frisch’s Big Boy. These molds were once used to create icons for businesses or play equipment for waterparks. One by one, they’ve made their way into the graveyard of statues. The F.A.S.T. graveyard is marked off in rows, large enough for cars to drive through.(I preferred to get out and walk.) The area is free and unsupervised, but F.A.S.T. recommends that you don’t play on the statues due to sharp edges. Also, don’t go after dark. Some common sense will go a long way on this exploration. I easily spent a couple hours looking at all the F.A.S.T. statues, reminiscing about childhood. The location is off the beaten path, but well worth the time getting there. It’s Americana at its finest: something you’d find on Route 66… or County Highway Q. If you like American kitsch, check out F.A.S.T. Viewing Time: 90 minutes Cost: FREE
