We’ve ordered from this place numerous times. Normally, the pizza is slightly above average, and delivery time is OK, but lately, there quality of pizza has declined, and their delivery time is ridiculous. I ordered a pizza at 6:04PM and was told it would take 30 – 40 minutes. An hour goes by, and so I call up Papa Johns and ask them what is taking so long. She doesn’t give me a reason, but continues to tell me that my order is still at the restaurant. By now, I’m starting to become irritated. I ask her how long it will be and she says not more than another 15 minutes. Over 2 hours goes by, and I call up again very agitated at this point that I haven’t received my pizza. The lady I spoke to was understanding and kind. They refunded my order and finally delivered my pizza at 8:30. The refund is the only reason I am giving them 2 stars, because at least they realized and accepted their mistake. Will probably not order from here again.

Ordered online, I live less than 2 miles and 2 minutes from the store(should have just picked it up in hindsight), but delivery took an hour and pizza was cold. I called the store before it was delivered and they said it was out for delivery, but took another 10 minutes. I will not be ordering from them again.

I’m very often quite forgiving, and I’m going to up my review a star since its likely a busy night just before the holiday but I can’t stomach attitude over the phone when all I have is a couple easy questions. Used to love my local Papa Johns but that employee needs to lighten up and help a guy order a pizza. That’s what they’re paying you to do right?

Have ordered from this location often. Pizza isn’t great, but it’s usually made correctly. Sometimes you get a half burnt dessert or no extra icing even tho you paid for it, but usually we don’t complain. Ordered the new Frito Chili Pizza we kept seeing all over the commercials. Ordered online so you have to pre-tip. Said pizza would arrive in 30 – 40 mins, took over an hour for pizza to arrive and once opened, pizza was wrong. Flagged down the driver who says there’s nothing he can do from this point and we need to call the store manager and he’ll take care if it. Thx for that exceptional tip-worthy service your automated hold message speaks of. Call the store, put on hold,(busy), talk to manager who confirms that I did order what I say I ordered and that there should be Fritos which is really the only reason we wanted it in the first place. Mgrs response is to offer me a free pizza for next time. How about just sending me a new pizza that’s fresh, hot and made correctly. Mgr reluctantly agrees to this and says he’ll get us a new pizza ASAP, but give them time, they’re swamped this morning. Hopefully the next pizza will be good, but not feeling very confident…

Update: our last couple of visits have had pizzas that were much better as far as presentation goes. I have raised my review based on that. Service is still spotty though seems to be much better when you actually go inside to pick up versus using the drive thru. Drivers are always friendly. My son loves this place. To me, it is really good cheese bread with excellent toppings but it doesn’t taste like real, Italian-seasoning Pizza to me. I always come away feeling like something was missing. Pizza is average, the sauce is sweet which I’m not a fan of and lately, it looks like the pizzas were made by someone in a hurry. The toppings are sloppy and don’t cover the whole pie. The quality of service isn’t consistent. If you like chain pizzas, give them a try. Otherwise, Spartanburg has a bunch of other good pizza places to choose from, try one of those.
