My new favorite restaurant in Spartanburg. I have eaten here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is excellent, food is very fresh and tasty. Best omlets anywhere.

Came in on a Tuesday night after my aunt raved about this place. How different of a experience I had then her. We arrived at 7:40pm to a pretty empty restaurant. There was a party of six leaving as we arrived and maybe five or six people having a good time at the bar. Our server seemed to be more focused on talking to the hostess and the only other waiter there, a male, and texting, then us, the only table in the restaurant. I will leave it at that. The food left a lot to be desired. The meatloaf is great, came out hot and was tasty. But the garlic mashed potatoes left a lot to be wished for. I wish that they actually had garlic and seasonings in them. I wish they had heavy whipping cream in them instead of bland 2% milk. They were tasteless. No salt and no white or black pepper. I wish they were made that day instead of being leftover from a couple days ago. I wish they weren’t heated in the microwave and piped thru a pastry bag. I wish that if you do serve them that way, you do it correctly and torch the top and call them Dutch mashed potatoes. The chicken fried chicken had no seasonings on the chicken or the breading. Why don’t you do that correctly and pound the breast? I got a piece of fried breast that was so dry I couldn’t even finish it. Even with the flavorless white gravy that also, like the mashed potatoes, left a lot to be desired, gave no moisture to the dry chicken. My mother ordered the liver and onions. which wasn’t completely cooked the first time and the cabbage was cold. They did make amends and corrected it, which I am thankful for. But this is one of the worse dining experiences I have had in a long time. I see why we were the only table in the restaurant. Oh. but the carrot cake was also delicious. sure it’s not made in house so I guess they couldn’t mess that up. I recommend if you decide to go. go on a busier night where you don’t have to go to the hostess stand to talk to your server. And to the male server I thank you for coming over to make sure my mother was alright when she had a coughing spell. you should be commended.

Delicious, homemade cooking! We stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner on our road trip. We ordered: chicken croquettes with Mac n cheese, chicken Parmesan, baked chicken with Greek fries, salmon with roasted red pepper sauce, and the bacon meatloaf bites for appetizer. Each and every plate was exquisite and had individual flavors. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was April. She gave us great suggestions, was fast, and very polite. The ambience is friendly and very clean. Definitely a must stop!

We visited Select for the first time to attend a Christmas party this past Monday. The group was large, and the wait staff was able to attend to everyone in a timely manner. The staff was extremely courteous and the food was amazing. Be sure to venture into the appetizer menu for some wonderful tasty treats! Thank you Select, and we’ll be sure to come back!

FOOTHILLSMUSTANGCLUB held there annual holiday party on Monday December 6th. The service was great! The food was amazing! Very accommodating, they more than exceeded or expectations and made our end of year celebration a night to remember. We enjoyed appetizers, salads and entrees. All fresh hot and delicious! I can’t say enough to recommend you enjoy this fairly new restaurant for yourself or with a group. The menu was extensive offering breakfast all day, sandwiches and a huge variety of entrees. There’s something for every palate to enjoy at select. Thank you for a great meal and experience! FMC President

Our family went for a wonderful brunch at Select. Everything was great! I grew up in Spartanburg, and everything was always the«same old same.» The service was wonderful and the food was delectable. Casual during the day, but I would expect a more upscale patronage in the evening. Overall– a pleasing and satisfying dining experience. I will definitely return upon my next visit.

The food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. We tried out the way restaurant because of the Unilocal reviews. Agree with the prior comments, great mixture of healthy and naughty. The vegetables are local and fresh, the double chocolate cake is worth a 5k run! So good, we will be back.

This is definitely not an ordinary coffee shop. Lots of vegetable choices as sides: steamed broccoli, steamed cabbage, Itslian green beans, cole slaw, all over-cooked, and garlic mashed potatoes. Mac & cheese was another side, tasty but pasta was mushy soft. Greek chicken was a little over-cooked but we were eating lunch at 2 pm so that’s understandable. Dessert: we shared Black Forest Cake which was really good. The cakes are made offsite by a German baker using real butter. I would definitely recommend going here for the desserts she makes. We didn’t try the house-made desserts so I can’t speak for them.

Great place! Food is extremely tasty. I had the Irishman, which is poached eggs with corned beef on either a biscuit pr English muffin topped with hollandaise. All done perfectly. A side of home fried potatoes came with. They were to die for. Others had pancakes and eggs with really good sausages and eggs with grits and bacon as well as a biscuit. Every thing was perfect!

The food was excellent. If you want fantastic food then Select is a great choice. I had the chicken croquettes and subbed in Greek potatoes. The croquettes were delicious, but the Greek potatoes could have been roasted a little longer. My wife had the build a meal option with the Greek ¼ chicken(very tender a flavorful), Mac and cheese(pasta was a little past al dente, reminding me of dirty blue box Mac and cheese in a good way — and the smoked paprika on the cheese was a great touch), and fried okra(light and crispy, not too squishy). My main hang ups were in service and atmosphere. We were in and out in 40 minutes on a Friday night date and they were verging on understaffed. Our waitress had about 4 – 5 tables by herself and I only saw two other servers, one manager, and one host. Add some staff and tell your servers to smile a bit more! The interior doesn’t really detract from how awesome the food is, but it seems that the flow of the restaurant is somewhat disjointed. The area by the full bar looked quiet and intimate, and the elevated section looked neat, but we were sat in the section in the middle, where there were a lot of tables in a relatively small space. I just never felt like my conversation with my wife was private. However, despite these quibbles the food takes center stage. Support this local business! Do it!

My husband and I were traveling and found this wonderful restaurant. We wanted a mom and pop meal! This was that and more! The food was phenomenal. Large cooked perfect, over medium eggs, sourdough French toast that melts in your mouth. Awesome thick bacon! Our waitress Jennifer was friendly, helpful and very good at her job! If the cook prepares lunch and dinner like he did breakfast this restaurant will be around a long time. KEEPTHECOOK!!! Don’t let him get away. The atmosphere matches the breakfast. The ambiance, oak tables, paintings, restrooms and lighting are very inviting. The background music was so easy to listen to. Old soft rock, seals and croft, … Do yourself s favor go try Select out, you won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I visted this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend of ours. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as we entered the restaurant. Our waiter was also very knowledgeable of the extensive menu and made recomendations for us. We started off with the BBQ Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf Bites for an appitizer. The meatloaf bites were very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Next were our dinner salads and we both ordered ceaser salads. The homemade ceaser dressing was excellent but the lettuce wasn’t very fresh, it was already turning brown on the cut edges. The entrees made up for the bad lettuce. The Shrimp and Grit Cakes were very different than any version I have eaten in the past but were a plesant suprise. The shrimp were not over cooked. The grit cakes were crispy on the outside yet moist and creamy on the inside. The jalapeño bacon sauce was very tasty. My wife ordered the Panko Encrusted Chicken Croquettes. She loves the Croquettes but loves the roasted red pepper sauce even more. They also serve breakfast all day with an enticing breakfast menu. We will likely be visiting again very soon.

Excellent service and food. Upscale southern at a reasonable price with both Healthy and Naughty options – I had to try a little of both. Great for date night or for a group. The baked Greek chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. The steamed cabbage was delectable. The macaroni and cheese was excellent. The cornbread was perfect – thick and moist. *They also serve breakfast all day.

This used to be Billy D’s. It was bought, refurbished and opened around the first of May. We had Mother’s Day dinner there… and the food was OUTSTANDING. No exaggeration. Its moderately priced with good home cooking meals. I had the New York pot roast and it melted in my mouth and the sauce was delicious. It came with garlic mashed potatoes(which when eating out I usually don’t get mashed cause they are usually dry or tasteless)…however…these were creamy, and tasty without being too much garlic. The cost was $ 15.00 and it came with a roll and salad, in todays economy I thought that was a great deal. The clean up of the outside and inside of the restaurant made it very nice. They have a large breakfast menu and open at 6:30am.
