Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but, to my eyes, Harvest Moon consistently sells the most beautiful bouquets I’ve ever seen. Their bouquets aren’t super cheap, but if I’m going to buy a bouquet, I’ll splurge a few extra dollars or buy a smaller bouquet to get one from Harvest Moon. They are available at the Indianapolis City Market Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays as well as the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market on Saturdays. They have a mix of flowers and colors that looks more wildflower-y than stodgy. Buy me their flowers; that is all :)

For my wedding, I wanted to keep things as local as possible, and after searching for a long time for a florist who only uses Indiana flowers, I discovered Linda’s flower farm. It was exactly what I was looking for. She grows the flowers herself with a few staff with minimal inputs, and Linda encourages brides to visit and tour the farms, so that they fully understand the quality they are purchasing. Like most every bride, I had a special request: blue flowers in August grown in Indiana. Most other florists pretty much said«good luck» to me, but Linda ran down of a list of all the blooms she would have. I visited in June, so there was no way for her to produce a «sample» bouquet of what she would have in August, which meant that I just had to trust her. In the end, I had absolutely no need to doubt her skills. The bouquets were more beautiful than I had imagined, and she was even able to incorporate my favorite flowers, hydrangeas. In order to keep costs down, I ordered two $ 100 buckets of flowers, with which my bridesmaids and I arranged the 12 centerpieces, 2 alter flower sets, and about 10 other other decorative flowers jars. The buckets provided so many beautiful flowers, and it was fun arranging them. One thing to mention about Saturday weddings. Linda is not able to deliver, because she attends farmer’s markets on Saturdays. So we(and by «we» I mean my husband) drove to the 3 hr round trip to pick up the flowers. We kept the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres in refrigerators overnight and the extra flowers in air conditioning. The flowers on Saturday still looked as though they were freshly cut and even looked gorgeous for the Sunday brunch. I would 100% recommend Harvest Moon. The flowers are of the highest quality and durability, are the epitome of natural, and in Central Indiana, you can’t really get any more local. I paid an entirely reasonable $ 700 for bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and flower buckets.

I hired Linda from Harvest Moon Flower Farm after receiving a recommendation from a friend that lives in Bloomington, IN. Linda did an amazing job with the flowers for my wedding down in Bloomington! I had her special order Picasso Calla Lilies and arrange all of the boutonnières for family members. She also put together three lovely terrariums for the tables at the wedding, as well as some greenery for our wedding cake. The arrangements were gorgeous and so was her farm. Just two things to consider: she does not deliver, so it made it a little more difficult to get the arrangements before the wedding. While she is only 20 minutes outside of Bloomington, it wasn’t on the way to our venue. I knew my parents would love to see the farm, so that made it worthwhile for me. The other thing is that she has two(adorable) dogs that will greet you when you arrive. I LOVE dogs, but don’t care for them to jump on me with muddy paws.. . ;) When we went to pick up the wedding flowers, the dogs jumped onto the side of my newly-washed vehicle and left mud marks & scratches on my car. I had my car washed again and the marks from the dogs are still there. Not the end of the world, but not fabulous either. If I were throwing an event in Bloomington, I would definitely hire her again!
