Okay, I admit I’m a bit of a regular. I help run Mt. side Dance Center in Washington, and after I teach my elders’ therapeutic movement class, or duty at the rescue squad across the street, I head over for any of the incredible sandwiches, soups, donuts, coffee cake, apple turnovers, spinach pies, beef, chicken… heck, aardvark snouts!(just kidding!) pastries. I also admit that I am often am cruel: sometimes I’ll purchase a dozen donuts for my colleagues at Mt. side P.T., most of whom are on diets! ! There simply is no scientific ability for a normal human being to resist their donuts, or any item there, for that matter. Other than dieting, no matter what, you simply cannot go wrong at Creekside! To the guy who said the sandwiches are made from steakum and the food was bland: you have no taste buds and reaaaly bad vision. The meat is cut fresh in back. Second it is a bakery, not the Inn in Little Washington. Jeez, get a clue!

We’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time because of all the great things we’ve heard. Also we went to a party and the Deli had catered some sandwiches which were very tasty. However when we went here the other weekend for lunch we were extremely disappointed. My grilled cheese sandwich was not even grilled, just toasted bread with unmelted cheese in it. My friends got the steak and cheese and they said it was not very good — just cold cheese and«steakums» meat. Not even warm. We will not go back for lunch. however my friend said the donut was very good. We’re sorry it was so disappointing.

Best. Donuts. Ever. You haven’t had a donut until you’ve had one from Creekside. They put –all– other donuts to shame. No joke. The cookies are also astoundingly good, especially the peanut butter cup ones. The Old Rag Pie is okay… unless you microwave it for a few seconds, and then it’s amazing. The only thing to warn folks about is that there’s often a line, and it isn’t unusual to wait 5 – 10 minutes to get to the front of it. It’s worth the wait though!

Randomly stopped here on my way back from the Shenandoah National Park and was pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches are excellent and, though I didn’t opt for any, the bakery looked delicious. The place is quite small, though there are a few tables, but I’d get lunch and head for a picnic place. You’ll wait about 15 minutes for your order.

Best donuts I have ever had! Very light and fluffy, super fresh. Also really fresh panini sandwiches with many different choices. Cinnamon buns were outstanding as well. Friendly staff and the baker working right there, taking a lot of pride in his art. Worth a detour, no kidding.

A true«hidden gem.» You here about these places in movies, magazine, and from the 1960s. Small town bakery that is worth«pulling off» for. If you know what I’m talking about, then you’ve struck gold! If my references do not translate to Unilocal, then«you need to check this place out!» After a long hike up Old Rag, we wanted sugar and a half decent sandwich. This placed delivered both with a smile(seriously, the young man behind the counter radiated happiness). Chicken Salad Sandwich($ 6 ish): A This sandwich was not only absolutely filling, but the bread from the bakery is what bring this sammy home. I recommend their sour dough(though often out by lunch time). If not, their whole wheat varieties will not disappoint. See attached picture($ 2.50): A+ I don’t know what this is. It’s chocolate cake, with a layer of fudge, caramel center, and chocolate pecan crunchy top. I’m simply going to write, «slice of heaven… literally» and leave the picture to do the rest. Yes, next time I hike in the Shenandoah Valley I’m stopping here again! You should, too.

This is a delightful little deli/bakery, as the name would suggest, right next to the creek. My wife and I had lunch there today, and ended up spending tons on baked treats on the way out. We each had soup and a sandwich, and both agreed they were great. She had the homemade chicken salad, and I, the club. The soup was a chicken corn chowder, all very good. There isn’t much seating inside, but it was a nice day and they have three tables out back by the creek. The staff was super-friendly and helpful. Despite being 45min from home, I can’t wait to go back.

In a word, impressive. Everything I tried here was delicious. My favorite? The lemon crème cake with mascarpone. I love lemon cake but this was hands down the best I have ever had. Also enjoyed soup and a sandwich. The service was wonderful, the staff friendly and inviting. There were no shortage of customers there during my visit and everyone was greeted warmly. Definitely adding Creekside to my favorites list!

After a gorgeous autumn day of exploring the Virginia countryside and Skyline Drive, I stopped at Creekside on the way home. Actually, I passed by it heading into town and doubled back because I thought it was the most enticing looking place. This place is really great. Very clean, friendly staff, and scrumptious treats. I ordered a BLT and while I was waiting for it to be prepared I decided to buy a large sinful brownie for $ 2.50(well worth it). It was very dense(not cake like) and fudgey. The BLT was fantastic. I asked for light mayo and, to my surprise, it actually WAS lightly mayo-ed. My expectations in country Virginia is an overload of the bad stuff, like mayo and sweet tea. Anyway, the BLT was ideally prepared. I would DEFINITELY stop here again on my way to and from Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, etc.
