My wife and I went here last night and enjoyed it. We travel and use Unilocal to find local places and this place rates very well. The service was great the drinks were awesome and the food was very very tasty. We ordered a combination plate and split it. We had a great meal and was filling.

Everyone was very friendly. We sat down, got our chips and salsa. We ordered our food and then we found a piece of plastic in our salsa. They tried telling me that it was onion but I put it in my mouth and chewed on it, it was indeed plastic. We were turned off and cancelled our food. We were disappointed… we were looking forward to dinner.

Regret. My fajita quesadilla was microwaved. The chips were from the lunch service. The salsa had no salt. Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention they charge for extra chips and salsa or pico de gallo. Sigh.

Just don’t do it, save yourself the stress and dissatisfaction of that experience. Trust me, if you don’t, you’ll wish you did. Service??? Life goes on. I’m just issuing fair warning.

Food is very good and staff is friendly. Never had a bad meal here and I have been several times. I will certainly go back several more times.

I had an acquaintance come from Mexico and he read decent reviews on this place so went for a try. He ordered Picadillo(shredded beef) and was given pork… when he told them that they gave him the wrong meat they argued with him and he told them he is very familiar with picadillo because he is form Mexico and that is not what he was served, so the man said to him that he did not believe he was from Mexico because he looked Indian. As if the fact that Spanish is his first language was not enough… seriously. The service is quick though.

Wait staff are friendly and prompt. Chips were toasty and warm. Had great prices for lunch specials. This one is way better than the one on Division in my past experiences. Food comes out hot and in a timely fashion.

I’m from the yakima valley, where great authentic Mexican food is everywhere. It is SO hard to find good Mexican food here in spokane. This place is AWESOME! I won’t eat Mexican food anywhere else in spokane except for here. Do yourself a favor and try it! You won’t be disappointed!

I have been going to Casa since early ’90’s. It was the only Mexican restaurant we ever went to. Was always packed. Now? Not so much… The last few years the quality and quantity of food has gone drastically down hill. The service is extremely poor. A while back I gave it «one more try», the owner waited on me. It’s no wonder the service is so poor if he is their example on how things are done. So after 20 years of going there, I’m sorry to say… I’m done. Good luck.

Better than the one in the north side in my opinion. The food is good the chips and salsa are alright. I prefer some other local mexican restaurants over them but its not bad. I’d eat there again

The food is pretty good, and i will come back… But it amazes me that a restaurant like this doesn’t have filtered water. Really? Tapwater? Next time I’m bringing my own water. Service was great! Atmosphere is great!

Went on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. They were packed but we got in quick, got our food fast, and it was delicious! Great atmosphere for a Mexican restaurant. Definitely one of my favorite!

Last night while on our way home, my wife and I had one of those, «chips, guacamole and a beer sounds really good right now» moments. We stopped in to Casa De Oro for the first time in years, and now I don’t know why it’s been so long! The service was prompt and friendly, the chips and salsa was standard(my wife liked them but the chips were a little too thick-cut for me), but the guacamole was awesome! We decided to order nachos too, and I must say for just your standard chips/beans/meat nachos, they were probably the best I’ve had in a very long time. The price was also extremely reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The chicken was delicious, like really good homemade roasted chicken that’s been basting for hours. Their draft beer selection(of one) could definitely be improved, but since Dos Equis was what I wanted anyway, I shouldn’t complain. All in all, it was nice to be back and see it’s still a good place to enjoy a great meal. Do yourself a favor and skip Azteca, come here instead! *Side note: I remember when I was a kid and we’d just moved to the valley, my parents took me to Casa De Oro and I ordered a cheeseburger. Big mistake, the whole staff started chanting«Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!» My wife said the same thing would happen to her little brother back in the day. Anyone know if they still do this? I think it’s hilarious!

Came for the dessert because I was visiting town. Ordered the Apple pie burrito. DELICIOUS! It is a Spanish twist on an american favorite. Friendly staff and nice environment. Recommend.

Not from the area, just happened to be passing through, and starving! Staff(the 2 we saw) were friendly enough, but not very attentive. Cleanliness I would give a poor to bad rating. Bathrooms were below bad, and you shouldn’t use them. Food was pretty average«mexican restaurant» fare. Pretty bland and unremarkable. All in all, not impressed, and we were sad that we stopped.

I’ve been here many times but this review is for Cinco De Mayo. Casa De Oro is run by professionals who know how to handle a crowd. We were given tons of chips, our basket never even got empty before it was replaced. Our water was frequently replaced. My margarita was awesome(melon) and the food is always great. I love the staff here, they run a great business and deserve to be open for many years to come. All of them were friendly while they hustled. One tip: when it’s busy, the lobby is pretty cold with the door opening and closing and moving the air all over so I’d recommend bringing a sweater in with you so you don’t get cold during your wait. Ours was about 20 – 25 minutes on Cinco De Mayo at dinner. Go CDO!
