Great food, kinda pricey and smaller than average portions. The quality of the food is worth it though. The Mongolian beef is excellent and the lettuce wraps are awesome too

Fantastic Asian Fusion food! Great, friendly service always. It’s evident that this restaurant is owner operated as everyone there really cares about your dining experience. Reasonable prices, great service, and the tastiest food in town!

We happened to be the only table for most of our dining experience, due to a BEAUTIFUL spring evening, so the service we received was spot on. We ordered two dinner combos, one with orange chicken and one with green curry. The orange chicken was very good, the best I’ve ever had. The green curry was AMAZING. The chow mein with chicken was also very very good. Everything we ate was excellent! We will be back soon, as well as recommending this restaurant to all of our friends.

I’ve been here a few times for lunch since it’s near my office. I’ve had the cashew chicken, chow mein, and a few other dishes. The lunch portion is small. If you order in, they’ll include hot water with a few veggies in it to mask as a soup. They also add an egg roll, rice and the main dish. There is one server every time I go. My water is rarely refilled. The server is the bus person as well. Towards the end of the lunch rush, all tables are dirty, a few tables are waiting to pay, and the server has NO sense to rush for the next group of customers. Kind of irritating when I’m rushing to get back to work. I suppose that’s how it is in a smaller town. I really want to support small, local businesses, but 3 stars is all I can generously give.

First time take out order. After all the great reviews I decided to try it. My first mistake was doing take out, but I’m single and don’t like sitting there alone. Had the green curry with the added seafood combo for $ 4. Total price was $ 16 something. Just not enough vegetables or seafood(found a shrimp and ate 4 very small scallops). Disappointing flavor so stopped there. I might try again just to give them another chance, but I’ve been all over the world and have yet to find a place that disappointed me more in value. Was so sorry that I didn’t like it as I was looking for a go to place. Guess I’m stuck with Noodle or Panda Express which is actually a lot more value.

This is my second time here at Chan Bistro. I ordered the Red Curry and I think I will once again. It’s thicker than red curry I’ve had at other places, but I like that, it’s better that way with the rice. They make it fresh and prevent it from being too hot(temperature) to eat. The spice is at a good level but you can ask for more if you like. It’s freshly prepared, creamy, and has a fine rich flavor. The vegetables are fresh cut, bell peppers, carrots, onion, and cabbage or lettuce. One of the best thai red curries I’ve had, top five.

This is a review for take-out only. Lettuce wraps: kind of boring yet simultaneously overly salty and greasy. Small portion but I can’t remember the price. General Chan’s chicken — a little too sweet; I compared it to General Tso’s at Happiness and the portion and flavor were about half from Chan Bistro. The chicken may have been of a better quality, however, and I don’t think the portion should have been any bigger, really. Probably won’t be returning.

Delish!!! Lettuce wraps were superb! All of the veggies were fresh, the sauces on our chow mein and Kung pao chicken were amazing! Our server was also really friendly. They have a list of additional items on the menu which is where the lettuce wraps and Kung pao came from! Will definitely be back.

Great small business in the Valley. Food is always fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly and attentive. We usually order family style and share a few different dishes. They start by bringing a bowl of egg drop soup. Everything we have tried has been good. Chan Bistro is one of our go to regular places in the valley.

The food was mediocre. I had the chow mien dish and my friend had the lo mien dish. Neither of us really loved our meals. The veggies were the best part of my dinner. The waitress was nice, and the establishment was clean. Based on the food I will not return.

There are more trendy spots in town, for sure. But this little, locally owned strip-mall lunch joint hits the spot for me on a regular basis. They are fairly new and lightly staffed as they are still building their clientele. However, the food is always cooked fresh with fantastic sauces made from scratch. Some other reviewers have stated their menu may be lacking in choices, but they have since added some items which are listed on a neon dry erase board in the corner of the dining area. On said board, there is dish called Osaka prawns which I ordered with chicken in lieu of the prawns. I have been a fan of The Mustard Seed’s rendition of this dish for years and I found a new favorite in Chan Bistro’s version. Their lunch specials are a great deal and include a slightly smaller serving of the entrée item, fried or steamed rice, an egg roll, and of course egg drop soup to start. If you’ve had a less than stellar experience here, give them a second chance before you post your Unilocal tirade. I eat here about once a week and it has been great each time. Spokane would be a better place with a few less chain restaurants and a few more mom & pop shops like Chan Bistro.

This place is AMAZING. I’ve been here once for lunch and just went back for dinner tonight. Everything we had was so good! Mongolian beef, general Chans chicken are among the best. I tried a 3 star and 4 star spicy and both were a nice heat, but not too much. The flavors are on point and set the bar for what good American Asian fusion food should be. The service is nice and the prices reasonable. I’ll be back for sure!

Every item had vegetables that were fresh and steamed and the meat was deep fried to perfection and coated in delicious sauces! The egg drop soup was simply but very flavorful. Most entrees are around 11 – 14 dollar range which is about normal. If you want something classier than panda express come here, you’ll probably spend about the same anyways and you get fresh food so win win right?

We had the opportunity to have lunch at Chan Bistro the other day while in the area and we were quite happy with the experience. The place is small, but has plenty of seating and does not feel cramped or overstuffed. Our server was very friendly and helpful with answering any questions about the menu. The menu itself is rather small, though a board behind us advertised that they now had some new items and listed another 10 choices or so. The food was made fresh to order and came out fairly quickly. Everything was delicious and cooked just right. We ordered the pad thai, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. The pad thai was very good and reminded us of typical pad thai we used to get in LA all the time. The orange chicken was flavorful and did not taste like the usual generic version you get so many other places. The Mongolian beef was the standout, crispy and perfect, seasoned just right. All the veggies that came in the meals looked and tasted crisp and fresh, and the rice that accompanied them was perfect also(seems like a small thing, but you would be surprised how many places serve undercooked or overcooked rice). The prices are slightly higher than one might expect for this sort of place, but when considering the quality of the food, the portion sizes, and how fresh everything was, we didn’t mind paying slightly more. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

First of all, I realized that after taking the advice of my fellow Unilocal bloggers to eat here, I should have first taken note that most of you are from the state of Washington so might not have a lot of Asian food to compare to. My husband and are from a suburb of Minneapolis, MN, so we’ve ate at a few Asian places including Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Asian Fusion, etc. I also travel for business so I have dined out in several cities including Seattle, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, etc. Minneapolis and St. Paul also has a very high Asian community so maybe we are spoiled with good restaurants here. My husband and I were staying in Spokane for a couple of days while traveling on vacation so we had dinner here on Thursday night, 05÷21÷15. Some of the noteworthy items to say about this restaurant: 1. Chan Bistro doesn’t have a huge menu to choose from. Meaning, not a lot of variety. 2. My husband ordered the house special that day which was some type of beef dish with asparagus; I ordered the Cashew Nut with chicken. Three issues with our orders: * I ordered iced tea. The blonde, long-haired waitress made some excuse about forgetting to make more of it so I couldn’t have it.(Hint: You can make iced tea by brewing a tea bag in hot water and serving over ice afterwards.) Yet, she never offered me any other type of beverage. So, I just drank the ice water she had brought with the menus and kept my mouth shut. * I ordered the Cashew Nut without celery, yet when it arrived, there was the celery still in it. * My husband and I both ordered fried rice as a substitute for white rice. The waitress forgot to make the substitution so she brought us white rice. We reminded her again about the fried rice so she had to go back to revise the order. * We received a very lack-luster apology for the errors in the food orders and the waitress never ever offered to take some money off the bill or do something to make the situation better.(This is Customer Service 101.) 3. We were the only people in the restaurant except for an older couple who came in after we ordered our food. The waitress knew this couple so she sat and shot the breeze with them the entire time we were in the restaurant.(We felt like we were intruding actually.) 4. The price of the food in comparison to the quality is very high. Anyway, I can honestly say that I would give this restaurant a «3» because the food is mediocre. I can’t help but think that there are better places to eat Asian food in Spokane, but maybe I am wrong. I personally would try to find something a little better than this. We will not be back.

We chose to drive a little out of the way to eat here because of all the high reviews. It is not in a location one would expect to have a decent dinner. However, overall, it was a good experience. They had a few specials, so we ordered the appetizer sampler, Lo Mein, and a scallop dish. The main courses were excellent, though the appetizers were slightly overcooked. We even had rice pudding for desert and it was perfect. While the place did not quite live up to the hype, it was worth going.

We started with the pot sticker appetizer which was presented on a fresh, crisp bed of cabbage and accompanied by a sweet sesame soy sauce that out of this world delicious. Next came our egg drop soup which is easily, hands down, the best I have ever tasted. The soup had a very flavorful base, plenty of egg, green peas, carrots and green onion all in perfect combination. Our main course was Chicken Lo Mien sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. I always add soy sauce to my lo mien but, this dish was so full of flavor that the soy sauce was never even considered. The ingredients were all very fresh and everything is made from scratch. Pluses: Good service, excellent food, good price for amount of food served. We will most definitely be going back!
